I've seen a surprising amount of interest. I could see some of the boomers being drawn in cause the game is just so old school, there is just weirdness like the button mash on clash that no esports ready fighter would dare do these days. And those types are always useful for giving the game some exposure, even if they don't stick with it.

Yes, but not more than most fighters. It is just that stuff is much less safe so you have to be much more careful. But at the same time characters tend to have very strong tools. For example Kyoshiro has a really long range low grab. If you block it at close range he is fucked, but you always have to be looking out for it and be careful what you throw out as he can dodge some things with it.

SamSho is not a combo heavy game. Beyond that, your special moves actually do a lot less damage than your buttons.

It’s more about spacing and footsies. Combos are pretty rare. You can usually combo light or medium slashes into special moves, but mainly you’re looking to capitalize on big damage with pokes and counter hits
