If Nero and HAKUNO were good characters, the series could have been salvaged. Therein lies the issue.

Similar to UBW, no idea what happens to Saber after HF ends. The most logical conclusion would be that she continues hunting for the Grail, and is maybe someday added to the Throne. No idea, really.

In the end, it is really hard to say, since GO likes to blend jokes and lore a bit too much at times... (I mean, I guess we are supposed to just accept that the Heroic Spirits hold cooking classes in the Throne, wtf Nasu)

Link has a different writer. Nero has been in the hands of a single writer since Umbral Star. Kiharu Sakurai wrote Umbral Star, F/GO - Septem and helped with Last Encore. She's been reassigned to Fate/Prototype and so Link, Extella 2 will have a different writing staff. This should lead to damage control because Nero is no longer a female writers self-insert. You can see how much more bearable she was in Link.
