I haven't touched it yet, but I always thought Lords of the Fallen was alright. I think people where just shitting on it because Bloodborne came out, and was clearly the better game.

It's great if you like the grind.
Soulsfags will shit on it but most of them are LGBT Let's Play era kids.

Its really solid. A huge step up from Lords of the Fallen. Some wonky parts but overall worth it. I'm eager for the sequel.

Lack of different environments killed this game for me. Same factory/corridors for hours.

Speaking of Souls-likes, is Castle of Heart good?

No, utter shovelware just like Lords of the Fallen.

Definitely worth a try for free.

>free on PSplus
>was briefly free bc of a discount price glitch for half an hour last year
>managed to grab it and actually keep it forever

Nah Lord of the Fallen is kind of a broken game. Barely passing D for effort for a Souls-like

LotF is better regarding gameplay.

hows the hdr in the surge worth buying it for console

It's okay, it is honestly more Bloodborne (Fast, Dodgy, Aggressive play encouraged) then Souls (Slow, Methodical, Defensive encouraged.) My main gripe was how the environment could been better since it kinda leans a bit too heavily to PITCH DARK areas, tyhough some bright ones exist, the first DLC (Park) was very good because it had a good and visually interesting environment taht is probably the highlight of the game, the second (Wild West) didn't really do the same and is more a challenge mode, couldn't really be assed to do it to hit 100% on steam again

Bosses have some special conditions that unlock better weapons if you beat them, some are advantageous tactics to do, others are more challenging then just beating the boss "normally".

I assume it is just the base game on PS+ though, so loads of dark corridors and shit.

most people seem to think its just not good

it's good, but fuck the ending

Most people expect it like dark souls since its third person with lock-on.

Thought the ending was fitting. Disappointed the final boss wasn't mutant pajeet from the keynotes all throughout the game.

and not because of all the design elements they just lifted from dark souls?

which design elements it runs smooth and isnt clunky

i fucking loved this game.
it's a casual filter for sure.

can't wait for 2.

It's a 7/10 or 6/10 game for me depending on how charitable I feel. I have a soft spot for it because I like limb damage systems and dark souls. Trouble is that I can't tell if that soft spot is just my playdoh soft retard baby skull, considering how mediocre the rest of the game is. The game is a bit on the easy side, somewhat janky, and the plot is just straight up bad. I can recommend giving it a download for free and seeing if you find the game satisfying enough to put up with its shit. Bonus points if you really like junkyard/exploitative millenial construction firm aesthetics.
