1. EGS is really limited compared to other game stores. EGS is not as functional as steam.

First of all these are mods not games. Second of all valve didn't "buy" the studios these people were modders and valve literally made them into a studio. Thirdly both Dota and Counterstrike were never SOLD as games but distributed freely as mods and you have the buy the respective game from Valve or Blizzard to play them.

Counterstrike before valve bought it can still be played anywhere using the old Half-Life 1 infrastructure.. So you can play Counterstrike 1.4 just fine.

Dota can be still played using Warcraft 3.

Second buying a developer is VERY different from buying a game from a developer and making it exclusive to one online market.

So the old versions of the game still remain perfectly playable. They hired the modders and made them into developers. If you ask me thats something anyone would support and is in no way the shit epic is doing.
