Huntress was textured traditionally, but artificer was textured for low-resolutions. Huntress has details and such in her texture, but huntress is literally just a couple blocks of solid color with each face being mapped to a specific color.
I wish, it's apart of the mesh. I'll look into other techniques, but it's going to take time.

More detail put into shading and lighting effects really helps all forms of visual media keep their appeal even after techniques and technology let us do a lot more. I haven't got it on me but there's a sizable infographic that's probably floating around Yea Forums that goes into detail about how today most anime gets one or two tone shading it they're lucky and some of the really good anime from back when could use three or more. The extra effort and detail into the shading makes things look great and cements whatever atmosphere they're trying to go for. Its also why dithering gets brought up a lot in threads about old pixel games because it helps blend the objects and the environment together so it looks like things belong.

Time is precious. The game gets harder in time based increments, so don't waste what little you have.
It's not usually worth it to completely clean out a stage, exactly because of that. Grab a few chests heading to the teleporter, maybe a few after the teleporter event is finished, then move on quickly.

Shield Mode. Any damage dealt to Providence now deals 1 Damage for a set duration (idk 4 or 5 seconds). It's adjusted to have a gimmick where you store the damage taken while in this mode, and at the end of the skill, it erupts in an explosion of pink thorns based on damage taken.

Channeled magic barrage. Pink thorns will attack enemies repeatedly. Aimed in a manner similar to Huntress/Royal Capacitor. Number of attacks scales with attack speed, similar to Eviscerate/Arrow Rain.

huntress and merc have passives

Enemies spawn, killing them gives you cash, cash is used to buy items to buff your character, limited amount of items per level, difficulty is constantly increasing so its a rat race to kill enough enemies to buy what you need and make it to the next level before the timer makes the enemies ridiculously hard

Merc has his double jump passive
technically Huntress has her aimbot passive
Engie's passive might as well be his turrets
MUL-T's R is a passive, he holds 2 items
really the only characters that don't have passives yet are Commando and Artificer.

Alright that makes sense, the way they're implemented they don't seem to come off as obvious passives. No wonder Merc and Arti feel so much more lacking.

Commando needs i-frames or lower CD on roll to be more mobile/defensive.

Piercing Shot needs a buff and his other skill whatever as well, IMO Piercing Shot should get a ridiculous x4 proc multiplier or something that guarantees proc. Would make sense if Commando himself just had higher proc multipliers for all his abilities as he's the best proc based class.

Dumbass, don't wait for portal RNG. Use a newt altar before starting the teleporter. It summons the blue portal after you charge the teleporter.
