Mega Rayquaza doesn't stand a chance against Mega Mewtwo in a real fight. All it can do is shoot beams and ram into or bite things. Meanwhile, Mewtwo is capable of psychokinesis, teleportation, regeneration, force field projection, precognition, power mimicry (particularly relevant against Rayquaza due to Dragon being weak to itself), power nullification and many more things. The fuck is some overgrown flying snake gonna do about it?

This has fuck all to do with combat proficiency. Psychokinesis is much more useful in this context, Mewtwo is just going to pick them up and throw them around like helpless ragdolls. There is literally nothing they can do about it as they have no control over their bodies while Mewtwo can finish them at any moment it wishes simply by willing it.

And not once does Deoxys actually try to telekinetically grab Rayquaza, because that would be overpowered and an automatic win for it when it was supposed to lose. In other words, plot armor. If anything this video just proves that Mega Rayquaza can't do anything other than shoot beams and ram things.
Mewtwo never lost to the Genesect gang, and it also wasn't interested in fighting back. It was only taking hits and defending the other Pokemon from the Genesect while trying to talk them out of fighting.
