Xenoblade series got done the dirtiest for sure. Rex and Pyra didn't make it into the base game or DLC and Xenoblade X got fucking nothing outside of a few spirits.

Isaac and Bomberman, but I personally think that Bomberman is because of Konami, in my eyes there's no way Sakurai didn't propose tons of possible moves for him to Konami given how much he likes his late 80, early 90 characters.

Bomberman has a lot bigger problems than being an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros.

I know some people really hate Mii costumes for "deconfirming" a character, especially back in Smash 4 where they were some of the worst characters, but in Ult it feels like a decent way to show love for him. Helps that Swordfighter's great this time around.

Assist Trophies are already important enough to get a major role in the game, so in some sense they're natural candidates to expect. The ones that could reasonably be fighters, at least.

Daisy was only added because echos are easy and like most games in nintendo with gimmicks they need a standout character that represents the gimmick.
I.E:Each new minor pokemon gimmick(like breeding) applies to all pokemon but they have one specific mon to help represent that(togepi) and to be a mascot for the gimmick and show it off in promo material or to reveal it.

It is a konami property. it even has the same localizers as yugioh now.

The ones that got demoted from Assist Trophies. There was literally no reason for stuff like Excitebike, Sin and Punishment, Advanced Wars and Custom Robo to get cut. Fucking autists are complaining about muh playable character but some characters who will never even get that became fucking costumes and spirits.

I doubt it considering the amount of characters they went ahead and added both for. Spring Man and Isaac in particular. Rex in particular was done dirty. They couldn't even give him an Assist Trophy or add his costume to the base game.

It's simple, assist trophies from dead franchises gets replaced with newer or more well known AT's.
