Saves nothing

First he saved PC gaming. Now he's gonna save vr and motion controls

i already have a vive gabe you fat fuck you better make knuckles compatible with that

they are, they sent out thousands of devkits to devs

yes but there hasnt been an official confirmation

thousands of devs and reviewers using the vive + knuckles isn't a confirmation?

I already have 2 blurry motion sickness generators. Don't need a third.

call me when it doesn't require me to upgrade my processor and buy all new hardware, again. Valve may be leading technologically on PC VR but they are also leading on fucking corporate bullshit, and given that their major opponent in this market is fucking facebook that is a major accomplishment.

Fucking 3570k from 6 years ago is enough to run PCVR

The min/recommended specs seem reasonable.

quad core is so fucking vague, that could be anything from 2011 onwards

>windows 10
Oh great, they want a shit OS too.

where did I mention CPU? Learn to read.

The Vive Pro's recommended CPUs are Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350, VR is not really intensive CPU-wise.

Any real real info on this things specs? Or a date when we'll find out?

It's not a matter of wanting, only W10 allows for async timewarping to smooth out frame drops and native screen capture for desktop windows in VR for example, you should be able to use it in W7 but you will miss some features.

>where did I mention CPU? Learn to read.
>processor: quad core +
are you fucking retarded or what

Win10 is prob recommended as theres some stuff within SteamVR thats Win10 only (like the new fancy reprojection stuff that works like Oculus's ASW)
VR is more cpu intensive than normal games

>where did I mention CPU?
>call me when it doesn't require me to upgrade my processor
Do you even know what a CPU is?

>VR is not really intensive CPU-wise.
Depends on the headset. Rift/WMR have more of a processing overhead than Vive, and I suspect Rift S will be even worse than current Rift due to it having the CPU deal with five fucking webcams constantly on at 60hz.

Plus you want 6-threads or more just for that extra processing overhead, so random Windows shit doesn't cause judder in the game, or unoptimized games running bad in general.

>call me when it doesn't require me to upgrade my processor
Do you even know what the words you say mean?

good

Ah shit, I meant GPU. Fuck me I suck cocks.

>VR is more cpu intensive than normal games
That's not saying much since games in general are not CPU intensive.

You can't let it slide as much as you can in normal games though. FPS drops in VR are very noticible, unless you have Win10 so you can take advantage of ASW

Nothing I hate more than ASW tug-of-war (when the game is tip-toeing the line between ASW engaged at 45fps and running unlocked at 90fps) than I do random ass quarter-second hitches out of nowhere.

>Oh great, they want a shit OS too.
>there are people that still didn't get the clue that /g/ was just trolling and shilling for linux as usual after all these years
Imagine using an outdated piece of shit for years because of memes.

Ive got a 1070 and i7 6700k, am I gonna have to upgrade for this thing?

no

multiplayer games are cpu intensive. and vr is overwhelmingly used for sp. hence why you can use a 7 year old cpu to play vr just fine

Youre fine
t. 1070ti and 3570k

Only if it brings with it actual games worth playing.

boneworks + valve game guaranteed

this looks like yet another tech demo/simulator. you already have h3vr for gun porn. need real fucking games

>Oh great, they want a shit OS too.
Yeah, because you want the OS that doesn't have built-in hooks for VR handling instead. The last I checked on Oculus' hardware profiler, over 95% ran their Rifts on W10, and I suspect the same for Vive users. No point in supporting legacy OS for something like this.

It's a real narrative-focused game, the test chamber setting is intentional.

big if true

It says right there in the store page
>BONEWORKS Is a narrative VR action adventure using advanced experimental physics mechanics. Dynamically navigate through environments, engage in physics heavy combat, and creatively approach puzzles with physics.

>15 years later, valve is still pushing physics gimmicks

>thinks it's a valve game
based retard
also the source physics were groundbreaking which is why they were a thing in HL2

i believe it when i see it. not the first fps vr game ive played to claim to be a traditional narrative experience turned into a wave-based shooter

They released 2 other non-gimmicky games so I don't see why not.

which are?

You mean havok physics? And yes, you're very right, absolutely groundbreaking.

Duck Season and Hover Junkers, HJ is dead since it's multiplayer but it was an actual game.

oh wait never mind ive played duck hunt. boring as fuck game

Physics are the way to go, they're surely better than RTX shit.

you fine
t. 1070/i7 6700k brother

>expectation
same price as rift s or $100 more

>reality
$1000+

Insight tracking is handled onboard. There's not enough USB bandwidth to transmit the webcam video to the PC.
