Nah. This is just a boring thread looking for (you)'s.

Its not boring, its just bad. Souls games were fun when you dropped your shield, dodging attacks and getting hits in after they whiff.
Sekiro punishes that kind of play by making you do like 2 damage and basically forces you to play defensively which just isn't fun.

>and basically forces you to play defensively
found the shitter. if you're playing defensively it's because you're bad. sekiro combat is 10x more aggressive than souls assuming you can actually stand your ground.

>basically forces you to play defensively which just isn't fun.

protip: roll spamming is the easiest way to play dark souls.

I really hope FROMs next game doesn't go back to Dark Souls combat depth, Sekiro has ruined it for me. Going from being able to win with just R1 and roll, to having to choose between block/deflect/dodge/jump/counter/sprint on the fly is so much exciting.

It's basically mashing parry until the enemy throws out a hyper telegraphed move like a quicktime event.

Didnt you get the memo, OP?
Yea Forums loves ping pong combats.

that game is guitar hero : medieval japan edition

>tfw one weapon in DMC5 has more variety and depth than the entirety of Sekiro's combat

Most of the time you're pushed to play aggressively, because you're supposed to fill up their posture meter, not bring down their health.
It's way more aggressive than Soulborne.

If you think the game is meant to be played defensively you either haven't played the game past for more than 3 hours or you're baiting

HOW DO YOU LIGHT THE SWORD ON FIRE?!

Living Force?

Wrong. You have to counter attacks to actually get somewhere in the fight. Thrusts, grabs, and sweeps force you to dodge and jump.

sekiro makes your damage output low because it encourages you to break target's posture rather than killing it with vitality. sekiro is a shinobi and a rogue going against massive armored samurai and beasts. it's supposed to empathize that you're playing as an underdog.

I loved all the souls games so far. I dont like the combat in sekiro at all but that doesnt mean its not a good game, not every single game has to appeal to everyone ffs.

based retard

Sekiro has weak defense his only strength is his offense

>to having to choose between block/deflect/dodge/jump/counter/sprint on the fly is so much exciting.
Now if only they can refine it without the janky ass bullshit hitboxes and instant tracking moves theyll have made a masterpiece that trully requires skill

He can parry like a madman though

Sekiro objectively has better combat than every Souls game.
More inputs ≠ complexity.
Especially when you're just fighting braindead sandbags.

So from the first two hours of gameplay:

-locations are boring and uninspired because they wanted the "muh realism" audience
-nearly every enemy is a generic human
-the combat is fine but i think its way less varied than any Souls game
-music is generic as fuck and Dark Souls already had pretty generic music but at least it wasn't as annoying as it is here
-less atmospheric than any Souls game
-difficulty at the beginning is maybe too high, fuck that Chained Ogre sponge bullshit and his barely avoidable jump grab
-the game sometimes tricks you into thinking that there is a ledge where there isn't one but at least you don't fall to your death instantly
-the story doesn't seem that interesting

How can one post be this wrong?
Most of these complaints are bullshit.
Chained Ogre is easy hell especially with the fire prosthetic.
It's literally you just crying that it's not Souls and being a shitter.
