What games have the absoulte best melee combat?
What games have the absoulte best melee combat?
Melee
Mount and Blade series, Jedi Knight series.
>ARC troopers will never be this cool again
Jedi Academy
Never watched star wars, but didnt this guy job super hard? Like they ripped off the Indian Jones thing and just shot him?
God general grievous is fucking retarded
star wars after ROTJ was a fucking mistake
>retarded
You mean cool?
This. Only the OT is any good.
Movie Battles 2 is WAY better and actually makes sense because it goes FAR beyond "jump slash wildly jump jump"
Unironically Sekiro. Name a game that does swordfighting better.
Nah man Grevious is still as cool now as he was back in 2005 even though he went down like a bitch.
For Honor is just a more in depth version of Sekiro combat.
And it's certainly not the best melee combat
ARC troopers were cool in the cg show too
The real enemy is rebels now that cartoon was shit
I think this game has pretty good melee combat, its very free form and I love it
not necessarily difficult, but fun to play
he jobbed in revenge of the sith but 2003 genndy grievous was a killer
Every game named above your post.
ROTJ itself was fucking retarded
Genndy wars was apex star wars kino
Movie Battles 2 hands down
6 isn't as good as 4 and 5, but still much better than 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8. 6 was necessary to finish the story but the prequel and sequel trilogies weren't necessary.
i want to worship his cute metal feets
Why does western animation always use standard "cartoon" style blocking for camera angles? It's like nobody understands how to use film form.
also movie battles 2
Yes. The creator of this series only got to see designs and basic blurbs about the characters. He saw grevious collected lightsabers from jedi he killed and, before being a sick ass cyborg, came from a warrior culture. So genndy made him an actual fucking threat on the basis that you don't just get to collect fucking lightsabers like trophies and not be a badass. However, since the script for episode 3 was written all of 2 weeks before filming, nobody knew that Lucas was going to make him into a fucking jobber who, instead of looking like he trained with a sith lord, runs away and sounds like a heavy smoker.
No game I've ever played has had the same kind of punch and impact in melee combat that Vermintide 2 has
Grevious deserved better than what he got in RotS that shit was fucking dumb. He should have lasted through the entire movie. Especially when they build him up so high and he was a fan favorite before the movie even came out
The younglings had it coming
I wish this fucker was in the base game for Battlefront 2
Mount & Blade: Warband
youtube.com
God Hand
The Specialists
Yeah, which is why Star Wars should have ended after it
Jedi Knight 2 and 3
It's literally dark souls but you have to parry
He is though
I meant when the game first came out
that's good
sekiro
nioh
bloodborne
what's this from?
I though Dying Light did combat pretty well
>talking shit about Genndy Grevious
Wow dude. Wow.
For honor combat system is fucking amazing, but i can't play multiplayer games, i rage too much. One day i broke my knuckle because i hit armchair when i lost few duels in a row. Uninstalled the game right away, this shit is dangerous
Do note that has the last 5 or so minutes cut out, I imagine it had something to do with copyright.
youtube.com
I tried watching some starwars cartoon recently and it wasn't this cool at all, it was garbage
thanks
Clone wars (2003) it's made by the creator of samurai jack, bretty gud
It’s sad that For Honor’s combat system is actually good but it’s stuck in a shit game.
Better question: what games introduce a new character in a side-game that proves to be a competent and dangerous threat only for said character to reappear in a mainline game and be demoted to a laughful and useless jobber.
Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars
balance is skewed bit too much in favor of bayonets, but sword v. sword is one of the best there is.
Axel in Kingdom Hearts.
This
Red Steel 2
youtube.com
This will.
He is though, just not in nu-front
>iframes
how to spot a shit game
I meant nu-Front.
Swords: Metal Gear Rising
Fists: Batman Arkham series
There’s no disputing this
lmaoing at your life bro
The Combat with Humans was annoying
Bayo 1, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Sekiro are the best melee focused action games I've played.
cringe and yikespilled, dmcfags are the worst
I remember seeing the Clone Wars as a kid and thinking Grevious was the coolest motherfucker in the world.
And then 3 came out, and I remember the feeling of disdain I had for him in the movie and how he was not nearly as cool as he was in Clone Wars.
Star Wars has so much potential to be fucking amazing but somehow it's always in the hands of absolute retards
Based half-swording and clubbing people with cross guards.
>chivalry 2.0
no thanks
Genndy's Grievous was the best villain Star Wars has ever gotten
That's not Darth Maul.
I found him to be fantastic in the clone wars honestly.
To be fair, 3 starts where Clone Wars literally ends.
So Grevious just got his lungs fucked up and is now crippled.
Haven't watched Rebels, but that scene is absolute kino.
They could have just not done that? What's the point of crippling a villain? It makes them much less threatening.
me either i just had to save the webm when i saw it in a previous thread
Man this 2d series was like a masterclass on battle choreography
>best fight in Star Wars
>rest of the film is shit
Darth maul was great because he didn’t have any development, he was just pure menacing vibes
Also obiwan and ani at that point were top tier, they had just killed doku who was even stronger than him
They needed for him to be less threatening so he doesn't overshadow the main characters in the movie. His time was for the 2d series and needed to be nerfed for the movie, sad but had to happen.
Your wrong lol. Grevious was wounded off movie screen by Windu, during the capture of the chancellor. Mace windu tapped into the dark side and crushed grevious’s lungs/organs/robot torso. That’s why he coughs and revenge of the sith starts immediately after that scene.
>tfw there will never be a game focused around ARC teams
That's definitely not the issue though. His entire character was changed fundamentally. He turned from a stone-cold badass into a cowardly cartoon villain.
Honestly everyone was pretty OP in Clone Wars, just watch the Mace Windu scene. But at the very least the personality and relative ability of people like Windu was kept consistent in episode 3. Grevious was definitely not. He didn't have to be crazy strong, but he should have at least been competent and intimidating.
Nioh has a nice combat system, but all the enemies suck.
They're eliminating the things people hated about chivalry. Like ramping up your mouse sensitivity to hit 9 people at once, and twisting your body around like some weird Gumby-spawn for awkwardly angled attacks.
There's a video on YouTube of Sam Witwer, the guy who played Starkiller, having a complete nerdout over that episode of Rebels at a convention and explaining to some fans how it's the most kino moment in Star Wars history, and he actually makes a really compelling case.
He was also doing things like dodging the force when people tried to use it on him. Should have done more of that.
No one replied but you're right.
fighting games, obviously
I know it was dumb but Starkiller was fun as fuck in Soul Calibur
based fucking Sam
The weird part for me was when he fought he actually WAS intimidating in III. He just lacked the demeanor.
So cartoon really can be as much cringe as anime...
What are you talking about? Grevious was winning the war left and right, of course under Palpatines and Tyranus’s guidance. He flees because he it’s the most logical decision to make. Until revenge of the sith, the leader of the trade federations military was Grevious while Dooku pulled some string. Capturing and destroying Grevious would have hindered plans exceptionally fast. The goal of the entire civil war was to prove that the republic needed an insane military otherwise they would be wiped out. The federation proved that the Jedi were worthless piece keepers.
The movie does far more respect for the character than the 3D animated show.
>Thinking For Honors combat is good
I mean, it's innovative and original but it's fucking garbage when you play a real fighting game and realize what for honor does so wrong
OG Clone Wars and CGI Clone Wars are great. Way better than the prequel trilogy and nu-star wars
lucas never gave genndy any direction on grievous other than what he looked like. lucas didnt think the cartoon would be too popular and was surprised that it was universally praised. lucas always planned grievous to be cowardly
Why didn't you protect his smile?
>mauls dumbass thinking that would work
yea what a fantastic character
inb4 that guy that thinks Genndywars is 10/10 in all ways despite its numerous flaws and swears up and down the CGI cartoon had zero redeeming qualities.
