Ishin have the same problem. Second phase with spear can be a pain, but once he starts throwing lighting around he is done.

phase 1 and 2 are very standard.
the blue katana guys in the same building are honestly harder, he just has more HP
phase 3 is not that bad, but the lighting thing was weird, i wasn't used to jumping much so he either got me on the ground, or the few times i remembered to jump he missed me
took me 2-3 tries on phase 3 before he decided to actually hit me

I'm not saying this to dunk on you user but Genichiro is a total jobber. You're fucked for endgame bosses if you can't deal with him. You'll be locked out of all endings, especially the Purification ending, but you definitely won't beat the final boss this way.
