It's still a stereotype. Military-wise, US and Russia are the same archetype, the latter is just much poorer.
Both drown the enemy in production and manpower. Both push untold amounts into the military at the expense of other things. Both are all about retarded grunts supported with a small number of people equipped with fancy shit.
The actual reality of the military world is that they both share the same niche, one is just better at it.
Look at French or Japanese militaries for actually different approaches to modern military strategy.
