Nothing.

ignorance is bliss

Nothing?
The game is still great and popular, unless I'm missing something.

Yes you are.
>mod repository shut down
>new EULA prohibits modding
>paid DLC in an EA game
>unfulfilled promises of multiplayer and level editor
>frequent nonsensical minor updates that deliberatly break modding

Based on having just looked into the problem, basically everybody actually involved with modding is saying that this is more a modding community issue with the repo going down and they're already moving it to a new service. They're also not being stopped by the EULA, that's most likely there so that the devs don't have to say 'yeah we're complicit in fans illegally using your songs' when trying to negotiate with companies.

They suck at communication and it's annoying how often mods break, but this really doesn't seem as disastrous as most people losing their minds are suggesting.

>that's most likely there so that the devs don't have to say 'yeah we're complicit in fans illegally using your songs'
You don't have to explicitly fodbid modding to do that

people only make ultra backbreaking hard tracks. inb4 git gud

They literally do, if they don't want to be legally liable.

Given that almost the entire purpose of modding is to add in copyrighted songs for free? They kinda do. It's not like they're doing much to actually stop it but they need to have some level of plausible deniability.

Any modifications to the game is not a liability of the developers. You can mod skyrim with throatfucking lolies and then dismembering them but that doesn't hold Todd accountable.

you underestimate the reach of corporate vultures

Sure, but throatfucking lolis isn't copyrighted by a company

Yes, but Todd Howard isn't at the same time actively negotiating with the "not throatfucking dismembered lolis" lobby for more content for Skyrim.

That's where the problem lies. The devs made a good platform for a rhythm game amd made a fortune out of it, but their greed did not stop and now the want to monetize the content for it too, which is a major source of discontent from the players because it clearly sparks a conflict of interest.

Its vr

It wasn't actually about beating Saber.

Its just modloader. You can install all the mods manually.

Every paid rhythm game has DLC songs/further installments and the majority of players don't mod unless a game is dead or shareware.

It's not greedy or alienating to keep supporting your creation with content, especially if you're not actually enforcing the rules that COULD alienate someone.

Consciesly constantly updating your game with "improvements" like 1 meme song that temporarily break the ability of modding players to play 10000s of songs sounds like something that could alienate someone.

you're retarded if you think companies care more about keeping throatfucking lolies out of their game than another company's copyrighted content

You don't seem to follow. Any 3rd party modification to the game is not a liability of the developers. You can riddle any game with any kind of copyrighted contend via mods and that doesn't hold developers accountable in any meaningful way.

So what, they're supposed to cease all development on their own game? If they had a proper modding API but kept breaking it anyway the frustration would be more justified.

There's quite a bit in between not updating your game completely and constantly updating it with trivial useless shit that more often than not regresses things then fixes it, like they did with 1.13.0, releasing an update with an inherent Unity bug that tanked performance the longer you played for everyone.
