He's right

Not a fan of Epic Store, but I love how it melts the brains of Yea Forumsalve dronies

>Being satisfied at unhappy people
Your life must be sad

You're goddamn right this is a Yea Forumsalve board now fuck off back to Ereddit

You made this thread again? Thought you shills liked to wait at least a few minutes before making repeats

But that is absolutely right. Competing through exclusivity is the shittiest form of competition that allows the actual product (Epic Store in this case) to be shit and yet the consumer is strong-armed into using said shit product if they want access to the entertainment they want. It is the very definition of anti-consumer practices.

>Yea Forums pulls that shit all the time
ironic you say that

Experiencing schadenfreude is a sign of low intelligence.

>Competing through exclusivity is the shittiest form of competition that allows the actual product*

*But it's okay when Valve does it

>melting pc gamers brains
how? they literally can pirate the game so how is that "melting their brains"?

On a serious note. I want to see how Epic Store does after people leave Fortnite just like people eventually left TF2. Right now they're trying super hard to be relevant but this game is on the long run. Halo is a bigger win than anything Epic has got so far.

heh, gamers...

Make sure to read the whole image before responding next time.

lol is that what he looks like?

Half-Life was developed and published in-house by Valve. First-party exclusivity is completely fine.

It's when you pay off a third-party to effectively refuse to do business with anyone but you when things become suspect. You are using someone else's work to peddle your own shit.

Imagine thinking this is some form of tribalism and not a natural reaction from a fatigued consumer base.

Isn't that what we all came here for?

I was like you once, I thought tf2 "died" like a year after F2P hit because that's when I, and almost every other person I knew with a brain stopped playing it but trust me it lives on.

I had my fucking brain exploded last year when I joined a discord and discovered people were still posting about tf2 in 2018, like posting tf2 memes and SFM memes, it was astounding.

It's got more players now than when I most heavily associate as it's period of greatest cultural impact, (just before F2P)

Attached: tf2 players.jpg (979x674, 93K)

hey epic shills what are the chances that gaben will get off his ass and make games to counter epic game launcher

If Halo 6 releases on steam it would take 10 borderlands games to get people to remember epic launcher

>Koops
Based. China is Asian just like Japan, you guys should be creaming yourselves over Epic.

yes

>that's when I, and almost every other person I knew with a brain stopped playing
m8 hate hats all you want, its more fun now then it ever was before
.. actually the biggest issue since the f2p update was valve shitting on community servers but its still playable

when china has more porn than liveleak videos, then i will think they're anything LIKE japan

>I support the free market!
>GRR HOW DARE YOU NOT RELEASE ON STEAM

>implying "Fuck consumers, devs will win this launcher war" is supporting gamers

the free market includes people pirating your product

Having a choice of buying and not buying is free market all right.

Why does anybody care what "Heh, gamers." mcfootfag has to say?

I don't care about the free market, only about the quality of gaming.

How is giving your money to the Chinese collective supporting anything remotely resembling free market?

Can't wait for Artifact 2.

thats what Yea Forums exists for. people sit here all day waiting for the next tortanic.

did you? those forknife bucks are pretty real so i don't see a "melting" in there

This is the problem with the modern world
>I don't care about thing, but I like how angry people are getting over it

>almost every other person I knew with a brain stopped playing
None of you fags "with a brain" were right. stay gone dickhead.

>artifact 2
i hate epic but steam really won't be able to compete if this is the best they're doing

There has been a tortanic with every AAA release but mods delete the threads.

But Epic paid those devs too, valvetard

This - Valve shills think development of games stops after release

What about patches and DLC, Steam drones?

Games used to release complete. Dlc was almost always supplementary and not just patching in content that should have been available at launch.

>its more fun now then it ever was before
wrong

seething

> You are using someone else's work to peddle your own shit
I'll always remember where I was when user discovered how businesses work.

Here's the thing, valve doesn't make a game exclusive to their platform, they don't make developers sign a year long contract saying they can only have their game on steam. If a developer wants, they can sell their game on steam, uplay, gog, discord and the other smaller stores, all at the same time. This allows for competition between different platforms having sales and other features/benefits to compete with one another, making it a win for the consumer. Epic, on the other hand, is hogging all the games with exclusives, forcing people to use their service if they want to play that game instead of giving them an option. This is what ruins a free market and makes it shittier for all of us

I would care, but so far the only big exclusives have been linear STALKER wannabe and Memelands 3: The SJWning.

based epic subsiding my ilegal copy

>here's the thing
stopped reading there le ebin rebbitor, go back

Attached: its all made up.png (1016x554, 770K)

then why were the games still available, in some cases days before the exclusivity announcement, to pre-order on steam?
you're implying that they;re on epic because, similar to how bayo2 and 3 are switch exclusive, epic themselves are funding the entire development when in most cases the game is practically done and ready to ship but the devs just got paid to put it on epic instead
epic is not funding games, they are buying temporary rights to put it on their platform which is a different case in its entirety
it would be a different and totally fine case if they actually funded development, but they're not
hell borderlands 3 had steam logos on some promo shit that got removed a bit before the announcement too
i don't really give a shit because borderlands is the kind of game you play when the game and all DLC is 5 bucks in a sale but this whole thing is a shitshow

The problem, Steam drone, is that it was Steam or nothing. There was literally nowhere to turn - Origin and uPlay barely sell third parties, and GoG's feature set is abysmal

So it was either Steam or nothing - now we have something with Epic Store

Friendly reminder Torgue's writer purposefully destroyed his character and made him an "SJW" as repentance for making him say "if you don't like explosions you wear women's underwear"

You just said absolutely nothing bugman.

>we have something with Epic Store
What do we have, someone that will end up convincing Valve to start paying for exclusives so they end up building an actual monopoly, a fight from which consumers won't benefit since it will be fought with exclusivity deals and not features?

Epic isn't competing with Steam. Epic is doing everything it can to avoid competition with Steam. This has been told to you a thousand times but you still repeat this stupid rhetoric.

Here's something: Fuck China but also fuck Steam.

Steam didn't have features at launch so I don't know what you're complaining about

>random guy on twitter thread #938

I don't think you understand, Epic is evil because they introduced money into the equation.
Before today, Valve has only ever offered their services as an act of charity, and would never consider inctentivising someone to use their platform.

Attached: epic-monopoly.png (2117x1835, 957K)

>Steam didn't have features at launch so I don't know what you're complaining about
Well, good thing Epic will be at Steam's level in 15 years, then.

yeah and the something is a shitty afterthought of a store with barely any features that steam has practically made standard
how a company can have almost two decades worth of updates, quality of life features, and basic consumer care as an example laid out for them and not include almost any of it is almost as bizarre as people defending it
its not fair that steam is the current majority holder but if you're going to try and take it down at the very fucking least come with the same level of features and not timed exclusives

OH NO NO NO NO NO

Attached: epic store humble.jpg (1037x801, 89K)

>Before today, Valve has only ever offered their services as an act of charity, and would never consider inctentivising someone to use their platform.

Blessed be thy name Lord Gaben, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Steam as it is on our computers

Give us this based, our daily based

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 145K)

>can't make an arguement, lemme just call him a redditor lol
At this point, they should have features since they're buying all the games. If they want to fuck steam, they need some appetizers, cause right now they have next to nothing other than exclusives
The issue I have is that Epic is buying up all the games and not allowing them to be sold anywhere else, at least on steam they have that option

Very interesting.

Attached: 1548254873225.png (2310x2461, 790K)

Uh huh. I don't see any Epic game store exclusives on the humble store. Right now it's lipservice.

The fuck is the humble store

> utilizing capital to obtain exclusive oppotunitites isn't competition
Hold up, better tell all industries ever that they're actually doing capitalism wrong and they're already dead because they forgot to compete.

>Valve is a monopoly
No.

Attached: monopoly.jpg (500x372, 55K)

Steam is not a perfect platform but they have played it fair for the longest time. They got where they are by innovation and playing it fair. They keep pushing for support for Linux to this day even though it is largely unprofitable, they allow Oculus users to play Vive Games even when Oculus locked Vive users out, they help out the modding community by integrating mods into their own launchers, their forums help developers reach out to their consumers, they have implemented refund policies, and much more benefits to both consumer and developer that I probably forgot to mention.

>humble store
When are they selling CD keys so I can buy games at launch for $20-30 like in Steam?

>Epic is doing everything it can to avoid competition with Steam.

How? Both Epic and Steam now sell the same games like Vampire Bloodlines 2 - thus your cuckolded, retarded idea of competing is actually happening as we speak.

*Steam, but you have the right idea.

>I love gobbling Tencent cock
When Overlord Pooh is reaming both your wallet and your asshole, you think he’ll stop to thank you?

With exclusivity deals.
They want a monopoly, that's why they don't let competition happen, they override that and prevent games from competing.
They only come out in one launcher and nothing more is said.
That's a monopolistic practice.

Did Gaben, winter sale cuckboy?

I'll believe it when I can see it in the store, their launcher is still trash and chink owned so I'll never give them a single bit of personal data, but if I can buy from a third party like Humble, that's better. Exclusivity is a cancer that consolefags deserve, anyone that supports it for PC needs to die in a fucking fire

Attached: GsvpJS2.jpg (480x360, 25K)

>ironically supporting gommunism
Stop posting ant time, turd

Your store is only as good as your exclusives. GOG is basically dead now - why? No exclusives

Not sure if chinese shill or economically retarded.
Epic is avoiding competition by buying the developer off during the development cycle and ensuring their storefront is not "In Competition".
It is exclusive.

If you're the only store selling Skittles, you aren't competing with all other candy stores. You're buying all the skittles from the skittles factory and setting the price/market/etc in your own arena because you are the sole vendor of Skittles.

It's not that hard.

>communism is when corporations exist

I haven’t bought a game in years so keep trying China apologist

Reminder to shop the Epic Games logo onto horrible chinese acts

>Tencent isn't the tech sector of the Chinese government

(Guess who owns the majority stake in Epic? Hint, it’s a big red country in Asia!)

>Developed and published by valve
Wow, what a great fucking argument

Honestly? This Epic stuff has been a fucking blessing. I love when Steamfags get all bent out of shape and triggered every time a new exclusive is announced. There's really no reason to complain, it's not like you are paying a monthly subscription to use these stores, the only people who are raging at Epic are little Steam skids getting mad that they can't 'level-up' their profiles or get little, gay trading cards to add to their collection; these are the same people who have like over 500 games on their account and haven't even played half of them. We're talking about bitter nerds who want all their games in the one place, they don't want to put in the legwork of merely installing another store. It's hilarious.

kill yourself you bootlicking faggot, go back to xbox/sony shit eating where you belong

Attached: 1488573072462.jpg (947x734, 122K)

You're intentionally trying to twist the definitions around to suit your argument. What is essentially happening here is Epic is trying to create a separate market that exists outside of the realm Steam and every other PC store operates in. Steam and everyone else sells Video Games mk.1, and Epic is trying to sell Video Games mk.2. You can consider exclusives as different products than the video games everybody else competes with one another to sell. You might as well call them a completely different name like car tires for all it matters because the effect is the same. It's splitting up the products to be sold in order to prevent your "competition" from selling them.

If you take this behavior even further in the direction it's facing it would result in an actual, true monopoly because this business practice is monopolistic. Allowing your competition to sell the same things you do and doing a better job at it is what is supposed to happen. Preventing your competition from selling the same things you do is the same line of thinking that makes monopolies lobby to prevent their competition from selling things in the first place, or buying out smaller companies to prevent them from ever becoming a threat in the future.

This insane idea you have that because they're two businesses that are trying to accomplish the same thing that they're in competition is an incorrect definition of the terms. Using this logic you could state that Coca Cola competes with Old Spice because they're selling products regardless of whether their competition is selling the same products.

>somehow precluded from buying your drink of choice at a gas station or supermarket
>food analogies

Can you name any games outside of literally Valve first party titles that are "Steam Exclusive" to validate your retarded analogy?

>I don't know what communism is but I know that China Bad
