Just because a game is text- based doesn't mean it's effortless; it just means effort is put into different areas.
You must see text-based and think something like Depression Quest.
But there's a lot of great text-based games, like Zork, that have a lot of effort put into them.
I'm not really that into the genre myself, so I'm sure there's other examples.
But I have played VNs a bit, and they're basically text-adventures with more, better art. Some of these were amazing experiences, ever if it wasn't exactly the same type of experience as an "actual game."
Hope all of your effort into an "actual game" pays off.
