I've literally never paid for a pc game and have only bought a handful of retro console games to collect. I've been pirating since the original Playstation. My mom would take me to blockbuster and I'd rent two games and burn them.
Learned about torrents to download dreamcast games. Did the ol swap magic trick with ps2, had a couple accounts get banned on 360. Buying media is fucking retarded.

I'm in the Philippines, a country where everyone (including the biggest megacorps, especially the biggest megacorps) and their mother pirates everything and nobody gives a fuck if you pirate unless you're pirating DVDs (for some reason, bootleg DVDs are pretty much contraband here [though that doesn't stop famous people from buying them and they can get away with it but not the general public if they get caught] while digital piracy is pretty much fair game).

Piracy isn't stealing. It's more of a form of fraud and copyright infringement. Two separate crimes, one only really victimizes corporations that would rather implode than spread revenue.

I won't bother pirating anything if it costs less than $30 desu. The (minimal) amount of effort that it would take to pirate it simply isn't worth my time. Conventiently, I haven't been interested in a game that costs more that $30 in several years.
