They can want whatever the fuck they want, and an assist trophy would be less effort to make a full character than from scratch. But it's not as if Ultimate is short on characters.

They have literally never designed a video game in their life, let alone know the first step into making one, otherwise they would not make a group this stupid.

Fighters aren't that easy to make. There's tons of testing and balancing you need to do. I want Zero more than anyone but to put it simply fuck off it's not happening until the next game.

Summon items are pretty fucking gay, but assist trophies are nowhere near as bad as pokeballs due to the fact you can actually KO trophies.

They're based biased since I want Bomberman and a few others, as well as Isaac for his fans but I have my doubts. That being said I could see the whole Waluigi shitstorm leading to something in the future, even if it's just him only.

These people would be even more pissed if they weren't assist and just left out completely, look at what happened to Ray and many others in Smash 4.

Master Hand is programmed as an Assist Trophy and is playable in WoL, so chances are the code is set up to control assist trophies. Just let us enable playing as them as an option in-game. Sure, you'll have a half-baked shitty moveset, but a character like Shovel-Knight or the dracula guy could be fun to play as regardless.

I wouldn't mind if you could temporarily turn into an assist trophy for a short time and then have a cool down for it. It would sever somewhat similarly as an assist or the final smash meter.
