The faces mostly look like a hybrid of Eiichiro Oda's style and the Dreamworks house style. I think it's a good fit. Toriyama is a caricature artist, and his faces tend to look a bit awkward in 3D.

If DQ dropped the Toriyama style i'd probably play it. This is pretty cute for CG.
The Toriyama art just looks fucking old, which is fine since DQ is pretty old school, but I can't help but feel it sort of narrows the appeal it could have to new people.
