With the battle between Epic and Steam in full force, how will GoG fare? They're already barely making a miniscule amount of profit. Would Cyberpunk 2077 being GoG exclusive save the platform, or sow more discontent?

The problem with gog is that they don't have AAA devs. Like it or not AAA games are what sell and gog only gets old games or indie shit.

GoG is fine. The developer that owns it makes AAA games themselves.

GoG must have a very low maitenance cost. They have some pretty good deals together with Humble Bundle.

GOG serves a niche not served by Steam/EGS, and they aren't trying to compete on EGS/Steam's level (even though they have a significant overlap of libraries). They'll continue to serve the people who want to buy DRM-free titles.

If 2077 becomes a GOG exclusive, I would be dissapointed, but less so than the Epic fuckery simply because CDPR owns and produces 2077. There's a difference between not sharing your content with other stores and specifically buying out exclusivity to content that you do not own or produce. One is a company exercising competition by development power, the other is a company exercising competition by simple corporate spending power. Buying 2077 will incentivize CDPR to invest more in game development. Buying contractual exclusives incentivizes corporates to keep handing over millions of dollars to publishers that never sees any actual product.

>DRM-free
>exclusive
pick one

As for GOG I wish they'd stop wasting time with indies and focus on getting more old games to sell.

At this point, they've gotten pretty much all the noteworthy old games. Selling them would require younger people to actually give a shit about old games outside of whatever gets remastering.

Card?

she had poked a hole in the condom you just used in her with it.

There would be whining, but it would be more like Origin or Ubiplay, or Battle Net.

GOG actually HAS a niche, and that's being a flea market for shit that's easily piratable, and catering to people who hate the fuck out of restrictions and anti consumer shit.

Epic might buy some indies out from under them for a year, but they're not really trying to compete in that market. In fact "consumer friendly" is almost the opposite of Epic's strategy there.

It'd not go down well, exclusives won't go down well even if the best companies do them. It being exclusive to gog wouldn't even be an issue since it's drm free and all, it'd just annoy people though
But there's no battle going on, there's just epic throwing away a lot of money and everyone else laughing honestly

I'm not used to this whole dating and sex thing.

Considering how little they do with it, that wouldn't surprise me.
I don't know if they just gave up on galaxy and put it into maintenance or what. I mean, it works, but it took them what, a year or so just to impliment paused downloads? And they still don't have handles, which is dumb as fuck when people's usernames were designed for login purposes and not display.

CDPR tried to do that with Thronebreaker and it went terribly, some cdred dev event went on record to say that the game failed because GOG is a niche service that nobody uses
with a big tittle like CP2077 they probably will avoid to cut themselves from the biggest marketplaces on PC

It failed because it was another fucking card game in a market oversaturated by shitty card games, primarily.

Yes but CDPR planned to sell it only on gog and they backtracked a few weeks later because sales were awful. it's still a dead game and the proof that Gwent is a terrible game and that it was a very questionable move to make an entire game out of something that most players hated in the original game but still, it was also an experiment on CDPR part and it was a failure so they probably won't retry this with their biggest AAA being a new IP on the market

>implying their next game isn't going to be Gwent: Cyberpunk edition

They found their niche by selling old games you can't get on steam

They should stick with that and learn to serve that niche, competing with steam will get them nowhere

They served that niche for years but it simply is too niche to be profitable. Not to mention negotiating new games is a pain in the ass as the rights are splintered between multiple hostile or defunct holders.

I don't think GoG is trying to compete so they wouldn't make it exclusive. Epic is trying to have a pull for the future which is why they are doing this exclusive stuff.

>downloaded this game because I really liked the cards
>tried to launch a sex scene
>runs at 3 fps
I wish I didn't have a toaster. The cards I see sometimes really get me going.

Maybe, OR MAYBE it has something to do with the fact that the cardshitter genre is already saturated as fuck in an already niche genre.
See Artifact bombing harder than the Hindenburg despite having the funds and manpower of a multi-billion dollar corporation and the potential customer base of 90 million users. This week Artifact reached two digit playrs. TWO DIGIT.
There are spergs out there who have been playing MAGIC for almost three decades now and collecting cards. The black lotus was auctioned for the clown world sum of $166k just last month.
It was a retarded idea to begin with. I mean I can understand that it might have been the passion/dream project of some CDPR guys, but it was never going to be a huge success.

God I wish I had a girlfriend that would look and dress up like that.

Imagine having a girlfriend bros. SEX nothing but SEX all day every day.
