There already is an easy mode. It's called your first playthrough. Your second playthrough is hard mode if you add the demon bell and do a no kuro charm run.

I agree that Sekiro isn't necessarily difficult but it's extremely tedious.
After about 15-20 seconds of sparring, you already know what the boss can do in it's current phase,
The problem is that Wolf's input is simply atrocious.
When you try to run around, wolf will do a few retarded quicksteps first (why cant that be just tap instead of hold)and even stumble depending on the timing of the input.
While pressing L1 before the enemy hits, i still get hit, because i should've done it a fraction of a second earlier.
Even when you jump while walking it takes about 1,5 sec to actually hit the air.
This wouldn't be much of a problem if it intends to make you better but (mini) bosses have some of the most bizarre attack resets in any game when getting hit or approached.
They are designed to frustrate you, not teach you, that's up to yourself to adjust to failed programming.
I finished Sekiro and started up DS3 just as a reference and the controls feel incredibly fluid.
Sekiro wants you to make split second decisions but with so many contradictions it annoys you more than it teaches you.
It's not. but I still find it very fun and satisfying even after I "got good".

Why is everyone whining about Sekiro's difficulty and going on about it needing an easy mode? I beat the game on NG+5 with a bunch of self imposed shit like the bell demon and no kuro's charm which is a big buff to the enemies.
Yet I cannot beat The Witness nor Obra Dinn and likely never will because I'm a brainlet but you never see Resetera or Kotaku mention those games. I feel people complaining just feel left out because Sekiro is the talk of the day and it got high review scores.

I don't think these people understand a lot of From's design decisions would lose it's appeal if the game is played on an easier difficulty. Finding a shortcut is a lot less interesting if the original route isn't in any way difficult.
It'd be funny if someone made a game that was real dramatic and intense on normal but the following things happen on easy:
>dialog is replaced with purposefully bad, lethargic voice acting
>npcs don't give a fuck about anything, even the impending end of their world
>cut scenes are pre-rendered
>enemies drunkenly trip and fall over each other, some piss their pants and surrender
>final boss' armor is made out of cardboard

Make an insanely easy "Easy mode" that is downright mocking. When you hover over the Easy option when starting a new game, the text blurb should say

It takes resources to do it well. If you don't have those resources it's better not to do it than halfass it. Even if you have the resources they would be better allocated elsewhere like adding a very hard mode.
You forgot the input buffering which kinda forces you to slowly tap R1, potentially slowing down R1 spam and fucking you for that reason. And the "stop dead" animation when you sprint in one direction then flick the stick over 180 degrees. Maybe it's realistic or whatever, but it's shit for gameplay, which is what matters. Working around it forces you to run in tiny circles when trying to bait attacks etc.
