It was playable at PAX East with lines for 8-player races and everyone from the original roster playable except Oxide, Fake Crash and the penguin. People got to try out the tech for the very first time.

Well like the other user said, she was originally to debut in CNK. But also the developers seem keen on fanservice, and there is a shortage of females on the roster. So I will not be surprised if her and Tawna are in.

30 is maximum amount of slots that can fit in the singleplayer character select screen. I doubt all of those slots will be filled though, because the multiplayer screen looks quite smaller.

CNK is still a fun game with some nice track design and some really great characterization. The problem is the physics isn't as tight as CTR which makes or breaks Crash racing games for people.

Still though, it's mediocre rather than trash and much better than the racing portion of CTTR.

The only character that won't go by his CTR stats is Oxide and Penta (if you were PAL or JP)
He's classed as an Intermediate kart so that puts him either as an all-rounder (to mimic his perfect stats) or is an Acceleration kart (Nitro Kart)
Penta will just use his NTSC stats.

Nowhere near to the same extent, also most items are avoidable or can have their impact delayed if you're good enough. The drifting/boost system is where the game really shines and is a much bigger factor in winning races than any items.

I'm also really glad that wumpa fruit serve a far greater purpose than fucking coins. They still increase speed a little like MK8, but also power up your weapons, that's automatically better. Being in their own exclusive box is also better than constantly landing on them with the item roulette in MK8.

user what makes you think the Switch is more powerful than the base Xbone or PS4?

So get this you have 2 shoulder buttons that get you to hop. This hop is used to jump for hang-time boosts and to initiate the powerslide when you turn hard.
When your powersliding a meter will fill up; starting out green and becoming red. Once it turns red, tap the opposite shoulder button to get a miniturbo boost. You can do this 3 times per powerslide. The closer to full that the meter is, the bigger the boost you get. If you miss your window, you can't get any more boosts during that powerslide.
In a way it is like snaking if only insofar as people who do it are substantially better than people who never do it. It's basically a central mechanic of the game and once you get into the rhythm of it, you can fly around all of the tracks at incredible speeds.

I don't think it is, but knowing some consoles get 60 FPS is making me mad jealous. Especially since there's no PC release (yet).

Shifter karts will blow the doors off most actual cars up to their speed limiter because power + preposterously low weight.

Each time you drift you have the chance to get three timed boosts, which also stack with the boosts you can get from elsewhere (you can get boosts by driving over boost pads, and also from timing a hop when you go over a jump).
The way the boosts stack is really satisfying desu and you can get some really high speeds and airtime.

I usually don't care about 30 FPS, but it really should be mandatory for certain genres. Fighting and racing games for starters. I honestly couldn't get into Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on console because the 30 FPS just felt wrong, yet I absolutely loved the game on PC. I'm really sad to hear that this one's going to be 30 FPS on base consoles and they should've at least offered a performance option for those of us that don't care about the graphics. Yet again, Mario Kart 8 is the console party racing king.
