Reboot Dante didn’t get new devil arms.
He only had nuRebellion which came from his soul and gained the ability to shapeshift into things like two large fists and a pair of giant shuriken.
Meanwhile Vergil just had Yamato that was locked to one shape and physical.

A transforming weapon was one of the initial ideas when they first showed that more grungy smoking Donte. His weapon extended into a spear-scythe (just like Sparda), he used it to pierce and fling a car at some demons.
Donte's Rebellion specifically transformed into Osiris (the extending scythe with Rake as the Snatch-like move) and the fat axe, Arbiter, each bound specifically to trigger buttons.

I remember only one mission with mandatory hooks. Dunno the number but before gilgamesh I think, where you jump across rooftops and go into the tunnel. And I doubt it'd be hard for devs to tweak the stages for Dante or v/let them use hook points the same way with trickster and cane teleports.

You can switch styles, and they're buffed. Rebellion/Sparda has the same tree, DSD has a different one with more moves

If murder is your game, then Nero is your guy. Not only are most of his moves just beefy, he also has easy infinite jump cancels and can stay far above danger effortlessly. Add into the fact that he can use enemies as shields to make him invincible from the front and it all adds up to the best character in the game.

okay, well judging by how long the game would be, how difficult it would be and Sparda being the highest ranking general that he is I'd say he would know a lot more moves than them, combined with some power trigger stuff like energy beams and maybe added/enhanced combos during it.

81-97 is absolutely DMD. However, all of the bosses past that point (King Cerb, Urizen 1, 2, 3, and Vergil) are on Son of Sparda, but they still Devil Trigger at low health, except Vergil.
