In final season Clem is much older with a disciplined AJ. You teach him how he should behave and that affects which essential characters live or die. Then you can choose to fuck the tough insecure lesbian or the nice fuckup black guy. It ends with a jebait of clem dying but she just loses her leg. Then the living kids stay in the school. The end.
Theres also some drama with lilly returning and stealing some kids. You can either kill her or let her go but that plotline sort of ends unceremoniously.

In defence of the team it really seems like there were gonna be multiple endings. The team who put the final episode together were just stitching a shit ton of unfinished content. From all the hints I assume there were a few endings, the happy one, AJ getting Lenny'd and one where they both turn.
