All mainline SamSho games happens across 3 years, from 1787 to 1789, only Warrior Rage that no one cared for makes a big ass jump with 30 years or so into the furure; no one is too old or too young to appear in this game, Rimu appeared in Special V and that is the earliest game in the timeline.
