Please cease your life
That’s what she said about you haha gottem
NOW WE’RE HAVING FUN, BOY
>he says, speaking English on an American based imageboard on a platform invented by the American military
(Thud)
>no WATASHI WAAAAAAAAAA itt
I beat him first try
Nobody is dubbing over your faggot burns though. Stick to food analogies.
MADA MADA AYAYA Clap
He's a big guy
*grappling hooks you*

ARE
ONIWA GYOUBU MASATAKA NARI
>dub
The difference between english and japanese voices in Sekiro is just so weird, its like they used the cheapest possible voice actors for the english dub.
On my first day back to work (car dealership) I was walking into the garage with all the cars and techs, and one of the techs was making her way to the parts department - theres a little doorway with flaps you walk through. Anyways I stopped her and screamed that line as loud as I could, its loud in the shop so it didnt matter but a few of the techs went into hysterics cause they had played the game. Then everyone was doing it in the shop. But yeah I knew that guy would become meme first time i heard that shit.
It's Charles from Red Dead 2 in english
Isn't it Guts from Berserk in japanese ?
They probably did I mean the game literally says hey this shit is uspposed to be played in Nippon best language. Why would they hire A++ actors with a message like that on the title screen
No point in bothering to catering to plebs who don't pick the intended language
From soft games usually have pretty solid english voice actors though.
Beat this guy on my first try, I was hella proud. Gen and lady stomped my shit in a few times tho
dark souls and bloodborne are meant to be played in english
It's too bad he's the single good english voice. Sekiro sounds like he's falling asleep, Kuro sounds like the text to speech child everyone uses, Rice loli sounds like an older woman, and Emma enunciates what too fucking much.
>IKUZO, SEKIRO!
I pity anyone with shot enough taste to play with the english dub. English Isshin doesnt even feel believable when he says "How my blood boils"
ORE*
kys
the fantasy setting is much better suited to british accents, in fact I'm pretty sure English is the intended language for Bloodborne, japanese streamers typically use the english dub at least
He was ridiculously easy. Even a fat bull is much harder if you don't get it to slam his head.
Those games are meant to be played in English. The Japs played those games with English dubs by default
Isn't Emma voiced by The Boss from MGS3 ?
;_;
>strikes you in the middle of your introduction
I think it's a very respectable stance to stay true to the setting by focusing entirely on the Japanese version.
Not like a western dev would ever do the same.
I'm not sure, but she sounds way too intense for some of the casual conversations you have with her. It's really off putting.
Makes me wonder how they will handle Ghost of Tsumisomething
Are samurai the most soi warrior fantasy ever? the katana is fucking shit as a weapon and bushido is fucking cringe
Since people actually seem to know the Jap lines, what do Genichiro and Isshin say in the last fight?
>soi and cringe in the same sentence
"Yikes!"
Nobody likes samurai, they are assholes who kill unarmed civilians for no reason.
I'm glad that people are able to choose a dub / sub if it pleases them but I just can't imagine playing with english voices on in this game. In the end it's all just preferences but yeah, thedub is not for me.
>Katana
Widely considered to be one of the most versatile and well crafted weapons from that era
>Bushido
Valuing honor and loyalty above all else and having no fear of death?
Sounds cooler than anything you and your permanently flaccid from jacking too much cock will do, user
Because every retard could pick up a sword and become one. Toyotomi Hideyoshi fixed that problem.
Imagine getting being Wolf and getting molested by Lady Butterfly and her illusions and being unable to tell Owl because you are a strong Shinobi, haha
These are some very long fingers
For me its like playing Shenmue with the dub. Really good for laughs, memeable af
Yes, samurai are faggots. That’s why you play as a Shinobi.
Reminder that Armored Warrior was the strongest in the game, even stronger than Sekiro
Yeah if it works for you it works for you and I'm happy we can both have our way in this great game.
>kipteitei
post the full pic, fag
just beat guardian ape in one try
was tht supposed to be so hard? i thought guape was the boss everyone was having trouble with, but out of every boss in the game, its the only one i didnt die at least twice in, i didnt even use resurrection
Why was he on that bridge anyways
>dub is b-
That VA absolutely nailed it.
For you
It wasn’t the same sentence.
He was screaming like a retard. I commend him for trying so hard but it's completely out of place.
Because he wanted the waters for his son, Robert
The katana is actually one of the best weapons in the world at cutting through flesh and light armor. This is because that's exactly what it was designed to do. Japan is an island and has very low iron deposits which are all low quality. The folding process that was developed by the Japanese swordsmiths was created to get around this by removing as much impurity as possible while alloying it. At the same time the lack of iron also meant that it was impossible to practically field troops with heavy iron armor like you see in medieval Europe. Thus the katana, which is (like all swords) actually a sidearm rather than a samurai's primary weapon, is made to cut through flesh and the light armor that was common among Japanese infantry. But it's essentially useless against somebody in full plate armor just like a scimitar would be.
He was a big dad.
...
kill yourself faggot bitch
No, its not out of place at all. This was traditional on several battlefields and especially ancient Japan. Well known warriors would always loudly announce their names before fighting.
Loudly is different than screaming. The jap VA did in a way that didn't sound fucking retarded like a child screaming out of the top of his lungs.
I guess the english voice direction was bit off
>voice direction
Probably the main issue of most dubs.
That voiceactor did an incredible job in rdr2 as a very calm yet unrelenting character, so he probably got told to perform the lines that way this time around
>IKUZO
That's not what he says though
I died twice in first phase and then someone told me to just hold down run and it was really easy
Yes he does. Do you all shut your ears off? He says it in phase 2 after the "How my blood boils" sentence
I don't get it, who was that guy? Like what is the context behind anything he said?
Who's Robert and why was he in Senpou of all places "for the sake of his son"?
I’d fuck her
Imagine what she'd look like, if she was 60 years younger
Just look at the grandma from Basilisk and find out
He's a Nanban trader that sells firecrackers that's likely got permission from the Shogunate or Ministry to travel inland. During that period, contact with the foreign world was strictly limtied to the south of Japan (hence, southern seas), mainly Nagasaki (Hirado etc.).
He's looking for the divine waters so he can cure his son Robert/Roberto from whatever affliction. He's either Portuguese or Dutch, based on the time period of Sekiro (late 1500s). Most likely Portuguese, because of the Morion helm he's wearing but also possibly a Dutch since it's not unheard of for a foreigner to work for a trading company of a different nation anyway.
Weren't the dubs done entirely by activision with no from software involvement? It's very different from past game which were originally in english
Shit's even worse in french
>Eavesdrop on a dumbass, mentions that fireworks startle horses
>Murder him because I'm a fearless, remorseless genocide machine
>Don't find any firecrackers
>Boss time
>Die to this cocksucker like 15 times
>Beat him with my grappling hook and katana
>Look up on youtube later
>Firecrackers absolutely destroy him
I missed each and every merchant on my way to that bastard.
The Sekiro Dub is LAUGHABLY bad.
REminder japs laughed at en dub in their media
Congratulations, bro. You are so good at this game. Here, take this medal, you deserve it!
I killed him with grappling hook and katana strat too. I got the skill that adds an attack to when you graplle onto an enemy. Ran away, grappled into him when the prompt popped up and mashed him a few times, then repeat. Getting the shinobi execution on Gyoubu felt soooo good. I will miss the emotional high after I'm so many playthroughs in that bosses start to feel completely routine although it's the toughest From melee action game so far so that is probably not happening any time soon.
At what parts?
ok, what media?
youtube.com
>There are people ITT who think an angry Japanese General would sound like a guy from the WWE
I've seen some retarded gaijins stream with english voices,
it makes my stomach turn how disgusting it is, for example, hanbei sounds like some cowboy sailor or something
Seething bum.
Japanese is so fucking annoying. Only degenerate socially retarded weebs like listening to it.
>Inosuke and his mom die no matter what
>You can't do jack shit to easee their pain
It's not fair bros.
>beat both demon of hatred and owl father
Only got last boss left but haven't played for 2 days due to burnout, gotta steel myself and finish this.
They’re memeing with MAI NEIMU Iiiiiz
Gaming and matome sites
How does it feel to be so shit at everything you have to justify your pointless existence by being "good" at a single player video game?
This.
Fuck realism, it’s entertaining so it’s cool
He asked the monks for rejuvenating waters for his dying son, the monks agreed but only if he guarded that bridge and didn't allow anyone through.
Sekiro sounds like cartoonish nigger. That’s basically all you need to know about dub.
*blocks ur dick with her feet*
Voices that fit the chzaracters and contexts are more entertaining. The English Dub for Sekiro isn't even good in a "so bad it's good" way. It's just bad.
I think you’re just autistic
Do it!
Well.. done... Sekiro...
Farewell.
>Morion helm
Apparently it's a Cabasset, related to the Morion and commonly worn by Nanban. The design was adopted by Nips at that time for some armor.
And that's when they would bust out this shit.
But yes, the sword was never the primary weapon outside of dueling or killing civvies. In almost every major army throughout history, until guns became the lord of the battlefield, polearms were the go-to weapon. You could train any random shlub soldier to stand in formation and poke the other guy with the pointy end, while swords both gave up the reach advantage and were harder to use generally.
He reminds me of Solid Snake more than anything
The Japanese delivery for GYOUBU MASATAKA ONIWA is more theatrical than angry(which is usually the case for most period works). I don't actually have a problem with the voice acting of the EN version, but the script could be tweaked instead of having an elongated MY NAAAAAAAAAAAAME.
It's funny though.
Wasn't this from the blacksmith anime threads?
>not even mad.jpg
Polearms didnt become popular until Oda Nobunaga steamrolled everyone with saide polearms.
>Oda Nobunaga
Aren't you thinking about Tanegashima?
Im still not sure if nips hate or like Nobunaga
Hi! My name is wha-! My name is who? Chiki chiki Slim Shady
>The Japanese delivery for GYOUBU MASATAKA ONIWA is more theatrical than angry
Because that's what his role as General demanded of him. In real life you would find an equally theatrical delivery for that line. Gyoubu is trying his best to inspire his troops, not intimidate Wolf. Beyond that, all commanders and high ranking military positions were held by uptight nobles. All Samurai were uptight little snowflakes who would value a theatrical presence more than an angry one.
>but the script could be tweaked instead of having an elongated MY NAAAAAAAAAAAAME.
The issue is in the director. The English Voice director interpreted the scene completely wrong. It would've been fine if the English had that same slightly restrained and uptight Japanese sensibility about it.
anyone else bothered by how they translate 参れ in a different way every time it's used
Werent they more famous for their guns?
Were there not people poking each other with spears all over the place before then? The yari existed for hundreds of years before then.
It's complicated, is the best way I can judge their opinion on him. He brought a lot of advancement to the country in a variety of fields while ending (or at least setting up the ending for) the nation's worst era of warfare and strife, and was rather forward-thinking, but he was also a horrible monster who was willing to be as ruthless as necessary to achieve his goals.
I'm right past the chained ogre, beat the faggot cheating samurai. Found the demon bell after the headless. I have no fucking idea where to go. The bell doesn't seem like a progression route.
You can go through the valley of the snake or you can push deeper into Ashina.
Ring the bell user do it it’ll be great
kek
They did but Oda Nobunaga made such a mockery of contemporary tactics by equipping peasants with spears that ended killing Samurai that trained for their entire life that everyone else went along with the same. He revolutionized warfare during the Sengoku period which allowed him to basically roll the first stone on the road to unification.
>get through his first two phases with using only 1 estus and no revives
>get to third phase and get absolutely destroyed
>tfw struggling to make it past his first phase again
I did and considering I died more than 10 times on the cheating samurai faggot because I didn't understand the combat I immediately used the item.
Give me a hint where those are. I just keep running between the bell and the sculpture near the ogre and can't find any extra path. Every grapple path near the headless just leads to the beginning of the headless cave.
YARE
To add peasants were also used to soak up damage so rifleman could do their job of shooting everyone.
> Tfw beat SS under 3 estus
True. He found the way to shut down cavalry super hard, between spears and guns. And cavalry was king in those days. Especially when you've got guys like the Takeda who probably would have steamrolled everyone else with said cavalry if they weren't so busy with the Uesugi.
>Give me a hint where those are.
Not at Senpou. You're stuck there. You will be able to find a different way into Senpou later on. Through Abandoned Dungeon.
I'll tell you where the Snake Valley is. It's nearby to the
Samurai miniboss after Chained Ogre.
I feel like scrub because I can't kill Tenzen Yamauchi
Ya I just found it, assuming it's called snake valley for the obvious reason. I didn't see the ledge. Thanks.
He was supposed to represent Latin explorers looking for the Fountain of Youth. Also you can overhear guards talking about putting some heavy armour on some dude.
The guy did have a Japanese mask on though, so I don’t think his armour is actually Portuguese, but most likely one of the armour sets made in Japan that were inspired by Latin foreigners and travelers.
Guys wtf i can't travel to ashina castle anymore
Those guards were talking about the armored guy with the Bell.
You're only a casual if you give up.
>SS
Who?
Soodo seinto
Prepare your pooper, the castle just got a fresh delivery of angry Japanese assholes that all have one driving goal in life: to fuck up your day.
The double sword faggots aren't that difficult. They feel like regular enemies to be honest, nothing special.
What movie?
But how do i get inside?
Neither are the Nips. Traditionally he's a villain because of his war atrocities and how much he challenged the status quo, but he was also a forward thinker who prized talent above all else and revolutionized warfare and logistics, and had the vision necessary to unify the country.
Playing it on English didn't even cross my mind. Just like playing it on Japanese didn't cross your mind.
abandoned dungeon
Miyazaki said before release that people should play on Japanese, considering it's a very overtly Japanese themed game, so I did.
I beat Gyoubu only because he did that thing where he bugs out and just stands still until you stagger or deathblow him. Not sure how common it is but he seemed to do it on every other attempt for me.
Oh ok, but why did this happen? Last thing i did was picking up the kidney stone the corrupt monk was guarding
>The whole game there are talks about people invading Ashina
>Ashina gets invaded
My question is why did the old lady hate Gyobou? She says afterwards "so that wretched Gyoubo is finally dead", when he was considered one of Ashinas premier warriors. It calls into question how fucked the lives of commoners in Ashina are and if the Mibu Village is at all unique, and just how fucked the country is. The presence of so many brigands to be able to sack Hirata (even with it's warriors absent) raised questions. I think, despite the fact he was your Ally, people did not think kindly of Isshin for his coup and revolution. And why did he stage a coup anyway?
You have the ingredients for Kuro's incense. You're going into the endgame. At this part of the story, Ashina Castle is invaded.
Why would anyone in their right mind play this game with the dub? You have to be a complete mental midget or illiterate to play with that horrendous cringe inducing dub in a nothin' personel weeb simulator. It's like trying to watch a classic western with a Chinese dub.
Thought that they'd already been dealt with
> tfw speak jap since kid
> tfw enable en subs on so I can laugh at poor translation
> meet npc who got rekt by headless ape
> “首が..首が..” *dies* (means ape had no head)
> subs: “my neck.. my neck..”
it really is shit, they just translates text without knowing real context
Interesting.
There's only one series I've willingly played/watched on English dub and that was Persona, mostly because it helps with the immersion, as they're long, long games with a lot of dialogue.
>Why did this happen?
ironically, because of you. Sekiro has been systematically destroying and killing every defense Ashina had in his quest, it's no wonder the central army attack when they did
I'm pretty sure the original Dark Souls and Demon Souls didn't even have a jap dub. It's only brainlet americans that cry about 'muh negrified amerilard dub.' Usually dragon ball spics/niggers.
Sekiro did an oopsie?
Activision was in charge of the other voices.
Fromsoftware only did the Japanese voices.
There's a reason why they default you to Japanese even if you're not in Japan.
awkward American dub is part of the kino
its like when you watch shitty old Japanese movies that are horribly dubbed over
I feel like a brainlet because I still don't understand why Sekiro is killing everyone in Ashina and then you have Tengu, who is also from Ashina, helping Sekiro.
I like the dub
I heard it on both. The Japanese sounds better and I'm not even a sub over dub guy
I mean, not really, Sekiro is loyal to Kuro not Ashina, and outright rejects the offer to serve a new Lord when Genichiro makes it. That's the problem with Owls little iron law
>There's a reason why they default you to Japanese even if you're not in Japan.
Did you know that Every Souls game had ONJLY english voices even in Japan? Even Bloodborne launched in English only. They only finally added JP voice to Bloodborne when they released the GotY edition.
Nah lots of people want to get into Ashina.
If you eavesdrop around you'll find the rats talking about their plans and stuff. This is just the beginning
>its like when you watch shitty old Japanese movies that are horribly dubbed over
This makes me glad that Portugal is poor as shit and always opted to subtitling every show on TV instead of dubbing. I always hated how Spanish TV was almost always dubbed.
迷いは敗れる。
>Kuro, Emma, and isshin are from ashina
>they help sekiro and sekiro helps them as Kuro is his master
>ashinain enemies constantly attack sekiro despite him being on their side
Your mission is to get back Kuro. The people in Ashina are under Genichiro who stole Kuro so they are under his orders to attack you.
Tengu has other shit to deal with
I don't understand it either
Was Divine Child right? Or did she just want Lord Kuro inside her for selfish and/or deluded reasons?
The monks were pathetic and everything points out that immortality is just a horrible curse that fucks everything over.
Fun fact: The bushido we know in pop-culture was actually something thought up during the reformation era of Japan around 1700s. Back when Japan was trying to quickly adapt and catch up to industrialized nations; they developed a political structure devised around an almost mythological version of the real samurai. The Samurai were no where near as intense about honor and seppuku as they are depicted in movies. The Japanese under Imperial Japan were far more intense about honor than the age they referenced for their bushido code.
the subtitles and text is all translate dike shit anyway so who cares what language they are jabbering on in
I knew that. I bet From wanted the game to only be in Japanese, but Activision probably butted in and told them that they have to include other languages.
It's not translated by the same company (frognation) that did all the previous games, which is why no one should even consider the dub.
迷えば敗れる
As far as I can tell, Isshin is so old that despite being the leader in name, he's basically shuffled off to the side and he's purely ceremonial at this point. Isshin - who it isn't clear if he ever drank the waters - is super suspicious and derisive of the immortality nonsense and the quest for power and eternal life undertaken by the monks and his adopted grandson.
Isshin is all about strength, but strength you seize with your own hands. He condescends the obsession of the Senpou and the cult of the waters that obsesses Ashinas nobility. But for whatever reason he was unable or unwilling to do anything about them when he was younger, probably because it would have interfered with his own power, as independent Ashina allowed him to fight a string of powerful challengers. Ultimately, Isshin was selfish, and perhaps recognizing the hat he works against his own country to try and help Kuro. Either because it's the right thing to do or he thinks they're all pussy cheater bitches who need bitchass magic centipede eggs to be hardass
>frognation
> no news since bloodborne, 2015
Are they dead?
ARE
ONIWA GYOUBU MASATAKA NARI!
IKUZO ONIKAGE!!!
Best voice actor along with Isshin's. Only characters with some fucking character. All the others are faggots, the main character being the biggest dick-sucker of them all.
No, there is a serious lack of actual acting skill in many dubs. It isn't just direction. Nips take it far more seriously and have a very developed industry. Usually most of the best English dubs are made using good Hollywood actors for stuff like Ghibli movies.
Was Isshin at the end of the game the same person or some twisted personification from hell? Was he just testing Sekiro, mainly because he's immortal, or did he actually want to kill Sekiro?
>being the biggest dick-sucker of them all.
I mean, that's almost literally correct. Who wouldn't want to save a cute shota.
What the fuck are you talking about
Demon Souls/Dark Souls 1/2/3 had amazing English voice acting because they hired people from theaters.
There was a thread that just died that showed how fucked the translations are.
>giraffe
>lady butterfly
They did DaS 3, and that VR game Déraciné. I guess they just forgot about the website?
It seems like he was actually Isshin, but a few things had changed
1. He was young again and this in charge again
2. He was young again and thus could enjoy fighting again
3. His grandson sacrificed himself and he felt obligated to carry out his wishes because of that
4. He just really wanted to fight you.
Basically what I'm saying is, I think Isshin is regretful due to his circumstances as an old man, but not necessarily a nice or good person otherwise. Which we could guess at since he betrays Ashinas lord and launches a coup
Call me a weeb, but the English voices sound terrible. Like homemade anime dub tier bad. especially Kuro, it sounds like soap opera level acting
WHAT THE FUCK DOES WEEB MEAN ANYMORE
I DON'T UNDERSTAND
EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE THEIR OWN DEFINITION AT THIS POINT
ASHINAAA! CENTRAL FAGGOTS OUT!
every internet insult now is just "person that disagrees with me" but slightly different flavors depending on the context
Lady Butterfly’s grab attack is OP
like if you don’t dodge before the part where she stomps on Sekiro’s balls you just die to the footjob animation
that animation of her whipping off his pants with just her toes is impressive though
DO NOT PURSUE, GYOUBU
how the fuck do you even get grabbed by her? it gives you a huge glowing warning symbol and plenty of time to get out of the way
I got distracted by the move where she lifts up her leg and flashes her vagina
Have you tried being a retarded Yea Forumsshitter? Yeah, didn't think so, idiot
God that grab animation turned me on so much the one time I got hit with it. Also the way she crosses her legs on the Buddha statue
Fuck I wish she was 30 years younger I wanna fuck that gmilf
let them laugh
/ourboy/ Gyoubus performance was Oscar material and deserves a spot in the VA hall of fame
>not fucking her as she is
puppy
Someone who likes anything Japanese unironically.
Try jumping away from her instead. Always works for me.
so how do I climb on top of this buddha to the right?
That's alot of self-insertion about me laughing at how shit you are. How are you this assblasted about being bad at a game if you feel like it's so beneath you, faggot?
>he doesn't knock her out of the air with a shuriken for free posture and HP damage
Jesus guys. Use your Wolf's Fang!
Good taste
>game set in Japan
>99.9% of characters are Japanese
>made by Japanese devs
Anyone who willingly picks dub should smash their head with a brick
go past fog wall, before the drop look up left, hook, go under first rock, look up left again
I want to use my wolf’s fang on her if you know what I mean
I wouldn’t fuck a grandma but I’d fuck a ninja grandma
Fuck, forgot about that. I just went for sidestep, counterattack, sidestep spam
I don’t speak Japanese, idiots
Why the fuck would I play a game in a language I can’t speak
sankyuu
Beat the Ogre and rang a bell that sent me back in time. Feeling like the combat is getting repetitive already.
Should I keep playing? Does it get more varied later on, or is it just more of Parry>Counter>Deathblow>Rinse/Repeat?
so I wasn't the only one who got Lu Bu vibes from him.
>tfw you don't get two stooges to help you to defeat him in honourable single combat
Not gonna lie, that strat can get you pretty damn far in her fight. I haven't bothered to git fully gud on her because she doesn't require it at all.
Isshin is ruining my boihole daily tho
Reading sure is hard isn't it
Reminder that 90% of Americans can't read
Anime effect
Terrible dialogue doesn't sound as terrible when it's delivered in a language you don't understand. This adds a mystique to the performance which would otherwise be dogshit retarded
Das it, m8
I don’t want to have to focus on reading words, that distracts from the killing. Why would I waste brain power on reading and hearing instead of just hearing
Fuck anime, only good animes are Bobobo and Gintama
>%
Wtf dos this symbol mean lol
It’s a penis and 2 balls
If reading subtitles takes that much focus you might be retarded
omg sekiro boss fights are so impossible
>tries holding sprint and just running around constantly
oh wait nevermind
>Why would I waste brain power on reading and hearing instead of just hearing
I'm sorry to hear about your handicap
if you have such low brain power that you can't read then by all means use the dub
Demon of hatred is pretty easy compared to the final boss, so don't worry about that
lmao Liked!
Can americans seriously not read a small sentence at an extremely quick glance?
we can but we refuse to
kek
Hmm.
That's disappointing.
>he plays sekiro in english
jfc
Unoptimized faggots like you have no right to talk down to me. If you like Japan so much go to 2chan.
Sasuke..
What’s the point in reading it when you can hear it? I bet you don’t listen to audiobooks on the way to work or while you’re jogging either
>Unoptimized
But Samurai used muskets, spears, glaives and bows too though
dub was passable but it's trash compared to the souls game VOs, iirc they are mostly theater actors, not sure about the new vos because most of them seem to have American accents
ooOOooOoOooo look user
wooords that you have to read OOoOOOoooo
Oh, that explains why Sekiro couldn't cut through the armored man
I played The Witcher in polish. I don't speak a word of polish but the english dub was bad and I like games to sound authentic so
>people will fall for this bait
Post YFW you're not an amerifat
>play japanese game
>with japanese setting
>with japanese characters
>with japanese folklore
>with japanese design
>"REEE VOICE NEEDS TO BE BURGER I LITERLALLLE DON*T HABV DA BREN PWR TO HANDLE SUBS"
ok retard
OMMMM BUDDHA DALAAAAA OMMM
*appears from the shadows*
S-SHINOBI
*equips divine abduction*
NO NO NO
*WHIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
NOOOOO LET ME OUT AAAAAAHHHH
I bet you watch moeshit anime too
Sounds autistic
Not only is this game japanese af and should therefore be played in japanese, but also I'd rather pierce my own fucking eardrums than have to listen to amerifats try to pronounce japanese names.
If you don't use japanese voice in any medium where it is apropriate and an option, you are legit retarded and have horrible taste.
Someone explain why I would ever use this over a backstab?
>cool boss
>is actually really easy
>bull with some straw strapped to his head is 10x harder
hackazaki does it again
better loot with the upgrade
>spear description
>can be used to remove loosely fitting armor
>eavesdrop some monks talking about how they had trouble fitting the armor to roberto dude because it's big
>spear doesn't do shit against him
it's a bad jap-eng translation isn't it?
>go on American website
>on American internet
>to type in english
>to another man speaking English
>about how he should play his games in a language he doesn’t understand
You go against your own argument. Would your post sound better in Japanese?
To be fair, the bull is just ridiculous because you can't fucking read it's movements since it's constantly doing 'something'
>>bull with some straw strapped to his head is 10x harder
Not really.
You fight robert's dad and he's using fitting armor
They're talking about the big dude with the bell before the dungeon.
Did that ROOBEERTOO's armor look loosely fitting? The description means those loose plates on normal/chunky dudes.
It one shots monks. Kite them into a group around you and WHIRRRRRRRRR them to oblivion.
Nope just you being dumb. Armor dude's armor fits perfectly.
>implying modern dubs are bad
maybe for your shitty flavor of the month anime, but AAA games usually have decent dubs
They're talking about the bell guy, and other Taro troops.
Criminally underrated
>other translations are just based on the english script
fuck
There's a bell wielding fatass right after that bridge and you can actually remove his armor.
Speaking about this, is there a list of enemies with strippable armor yet? Spiral Spear is fantastic on its own so it's not like it needs this.
you're reading english right now, what's your excuse? oh yeah, it's - "I can't read subs because I'm too brainlet to focus"
>japanese - someone you'd take seriously
>english - shouting autist
What did they mean by this?
so what was the twist, I remember in one of the interviews miyazaki said there was some kind of twist like in bloodborne with the ayys, was it the monkeys or was it the fountainhead area which reminded me so much of okami btw
Here's a pity reply, because no one else cared enough
Don't forget, ingame grunts are left in japanese in the english dub. The localization is also fucking trash, did Activision make such a poor fucking job?
I’m not focusing on playing a game right now
Owl is a traitor faggot. Not a particularly good twist but eh.
>great shinobi "I was merely pretending to be dead" owl at least he was a pretty fun fight
It works on Guardian Ape phase 2
I was surprised how easy he was
Dark Souls is literally default in English even for the japanese.
Especially compared to all the minibosses you have to fight before. I guarantee most people died multiple times to every single one of those, but beat him on first/second try.
Are you sure he doesn’t say ware which sounds like are when spoken? I think you’re a dumb weeb who thinks he knows Japanese but is a retard. Fucking know it all fag kys
based
Based and WAREpilled
holy FUCK
WOOOOOOOOOOOO
To be completely fair the hirata raid was almost entirely orchestrated by Owl in the first place.
Defeating Genichuro was so satisfying bros after having my ass handed to me so many times even better than when I stuck my dick in a Tinder thot at the weekend
How do I get to this guy?
Only boss I've fought is the old bitch.
Do I have to go past the snake or is there a path I'm missing?
Past the snek.
>out of place
Read a book faggot
Addendum:
Even though Tamahagane was created using folding, it was still of extremely poor quality compared to European steel alloys (or even just straight up iron), which is why any European sword would just break a katana on contact. Also, the Celts discovered folding in the same fashion as the Japs nearly 2 MILLENNIA earlier.
What's the point of stripping armor anyways? I never used the spear so I can't tell if there is some noticeable difference.
>*passes the castle gate*
nothing personnel, kid
はい、そうです
>that 5 seconds spent on kuros feet in the cutscene
>see this coolass motherfucker on a horse
>oh fuck first real boss time for hype
>beat him on the first try, literally just a matter of parrying his super-easy swings until he runs out ofposture
>running past the white snake was harder than Gyoubu
>motherfucking General Tenzen Yamauchi was harder than Gyoubu
He's cool but disappointing.
Miyazaki is a gay footfag, Nothing new
>>running past the white snake was harder than Gyoubu
this
and i didn't even got the firework at that point
lady butterfly was way more hard!
Stephanie Sheh.
kek
now do one where sekiro is sucking up everybody's coins
>mfw I beat lol 2ape and Shitchimen Warrior last night while wasted
This is the most fun I've had drinking since I thrashed half of Cuphead in a night including Bepis the Clown and Grim Fuckstick
>Betrays Ashinas lord
He lead a rebellion because Ashina originally belonged to his family and outsiders took it from him. I don't think he was doing that much betrayal
Just a half-baked mechanic.
desu Guardian Ape plays the most like old big guy souls bosses, most people having trouble were probably trying to deflect him to death (not impossible but super hard). He's more or less designed for you to run in after he attacks (or while he's attacking the wrong direction) and hit him as much as possible, usually staggering him so you can put on more damage, and ignoring posture for the most part. Some of his stuff even whiffs if you're right on his ass (his poop throw ALWAYS misses if you were right next to him for example).
>twitch emotes
please stop existing
Man, I wish Cuphead was more fun. Really mediocre game outside of the art. Still getting the DLC though.
Yeah not him but the only move you can consistently and safely deflect is the big double axe handle that leaves him prone
I personally found myself waiting for his jumping grab then slashing his ass
I will shed humanity itself! *thunderclap*
>ashinain enemies constantly attack sekiro despite him being on their side
You realize that they're under Genichiro's command, right?
もちろんですよ
Posto Kuro feet
>dubfags
Imagine being such a brainlet you can't parry the ape to stagger him for insane amount of time
>he says, in English
Fromsoft weren't involved in the dub. It had no direction and was not their usual British theatre people, but some random-ass American anime dubbers. Of course it sucked.
This. If they had the cool Brit team from Souls/Bloodborne I'd be all over it.
yeah, fucking love them
direction is a big fucking deal too, though
Eh, I still think it's fun. It actually inspired me to go back and finally beat Alien Hominid after all these years. Hell, half the reason I got Sekiro was because of the massive ego boost I got from beating Cuphead
It's a buzzword that means "anything I don't like," just like "cuck," "SJW," or "soi."
dubbufaggo then
try your best English dictionary faggot
>hired actual actors and stayed as far away from the voice "acting" industry as they could
>actual creative input and direction from fromsoft themselves
it fulfulls both of your conditions, it's a pretty fucking bad example if you want to argue.
Just beat Genchiro and I have been completely ignoring NPC quest lines because of Dragonrot. Should I cure it now and do some? Which quests are the most important?
lol dumb gaijin get fucked
you can get a ton of droplets just cure it
It’s not about liking Japanese over English it’s about integrity. An English game is better in English than dubbed to Japanese. It’s the same argument used against not having an easy mode. An easy mode disrupts the artistic vision of the game. A dub does the same. The dub is the easy mode of sekiro
>dubbed movies
Whatever you have to do to justify playing in a language you don’t speak, nerd
>be european
>expose yourself to a new language
>cultural exchange happens
>be american
>don't expose yourself to a new language
>nothing gained
they dub animes
it's what they do, of course it sounds like an anime dub
I don’t speak japanese
How about you go expose your anus to a group of niggers
Yeah, I know English now since I wasn't born a little bitch like you.
fweeee
youtu.be
Nothing wrong with that
You were born a faggot because you suck Japanese dicks lol
CIA DESU
Whatever, keep playing sekiro in easy mode. Fag
You can tell who the Redditors are because they actually use dubs when Jap audio is available and defend their decision.
Is it true that IRL samurai mostly used guns and not swords?
FWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FWWEEEEEE FWEEEEFWEEEEEE
Is it true that IRL samurai mostly spoke English?
He has a third phase? I only remember two.
Why were the red ayys eating the blue ones?
Brainlet response.
I’ll play your ass in easy mode
>he says, in English
That you have no defense for.
Playing with subs is like a Mexican person choosing to play a game in Greek. It’s retarded
>I'm too stupid to read subtitles in a short span of time
>uh i play in the default language you fucking WEEB
>a company does something sensible and makes the jp audio the default
>these faggots still switch to dubbed
absolute fucking contrarian faggots
>wanting to hear
>ONICHAAAN BAKA DESU SENPAIIIIII SUGOI MADA MADA
You don't learn anything from Japanese because you don't expose yourself to it. A Mexican learns something if he plays a Greek game. No reason to play a non-Greek game in Greek though.
>not being able to appreciate tone and sound
You're the kind of brainlet who listens to music without lyrics, like classical, and goes "this is boring why do people listen to this?"
>subfags
I don’t learn anything because I don’t know Japanese and I don’t play Sekiro to fucking learn Japanese I play it to get drunk and get my ass kicked
I can appreciate tones and sound in English and also understand the fucking dialogue. You pretentious fuck
Probably because they're of a higher class status
>get rice from dragon loli
>AYO THESE SOME FINE-ASS JELLY DONUTS NIGGA
>RUB-A-DUB-DUB, THANKS FOR THE GRUB, BITCH
For the sake of my son, put down your sword.
KUNO HOONTO MAWANABI! FUTABA SHUZU BOTISWANA
>I can appreciate tones and sound in English
A fucking dog can, too. As well as every other language, along with every other non-autist with hearing.
I bet you watch Bruce Lee movies in English.
Fromsoft did the Japanese voiceovers. Everything else was done by Activision. So if you want to experience the game it was actually intended to be experienced use FromSoft's version.
major HFY boner from that guy
easy fight, but man did they make him seem powerful
Did you not read his memory? He was a brutal bandit lord before he was recruited by Isshin.
HFY?
And? Might makes right, bitch.
ROBAAAAATTTTOOOOO
That’s way better than whatever moeshit stereotype she would say in chink speak
So why should I go out of my way and play a game in a language I do not speak you fucking subhuman Japanese culture fetishizing cuck
No, I watch good movies like IP man
>I can appreciate tones and sound in English and also understand the fucking dialogue. You pretentious fuck
Seething brainlet
Lmao Americans in a nutshell
Yeah.
based and robertpilled
you mean like humanity fuck yeah? thought that was usually about aliens and shit
>boss yells your name if you kick him off a bridge
how the FUCK did they do that? How? How could they know?
so you have no counter argument
>gets called pretentious
>lol I'm so smart and cool unlike you
If it quacks like a crow and drives like a bird...
isnt it the same subtitles regardless tho
The dub was shit but the one character that was better in english was the basket dude. That guy knocked it out of the park.
>not enjoying the game in both Japanese and English in different playthroughs
>not playing the game in Spanish the third time through
It's like you people can't even have fun anymore
eh only when compared to knights really.
but there is something really aesthetic and raw about two skilled warriors in very light clothing with katana's going at it.
Shit if we are talking a samurai and a knight but both have no armor the samurai is going to win.
>the basket dude
Who
>i am seigward of cata
>ROBAAAAAAAATOOOOOOOOOO
>first try against this boss
>"oh so this guy is fighting for his son? That's cool, I like him"
>millionth try against this boss
>"FUCK THIS FUCKING NIGGER AND HIS FAGGOT SON, I HOPE I MEET HIM LATER ON SO I CAN GIVE HIM AN OIL BATH AND SET HIM ON FIRE"
>can't travel down to the valley where his body ended up and loot something neat
Pretty disappointing desu
>your name
His son's name. Your character *technically* doesn't have a name, but other characters call him Wolf or Sekiro.
the carp scale vendor, it sounds like
>PINCHE SEKIRO NO SEAS PENDEJO Y SALVA AL HEREDERO DIVINO
that earth shaking thump when he hits the ground tho
only ishinn calls him sekiro, and it's implied that he is the first to give him a name which is sad and fitting because ishinn likes to know the names of those he kills.
>can kill every flavor of monster, demon. abomination and God knows what else
>can't do shit against some fag in an armor, forced to let gravity take care of him for you
This was so fucking retarded.
Mada mada
Basket Wearer Shosuke
>argument against a non argument
?
What a kino boss, user. How come they are always the easy ones?
OH MY GAWD THATS THE THING THEY SEEAY IN JAPENSE ANIME!!!!!!!! SHREK IS MY FAVORITE ANIME BTW
They really should just have called the game "Okami: not that one" when Isshin is the only one to call him Sekiro
>can kill every flavor of monster, demon.
they don't have plate armor
well isshin is the final boss so it's not like he is a nobody, he also spies on your progress as the tengu
Dewa~
Why did no one give the poor guy a name? I understand Owl being a cunt but I thought the Miko would be nice enough to give his most loyal subordinate a proper name instead of just calling him "Wolf".
i found 1(one) enemy where this is actually useful
in hirata estate 2 there's a big mace enemy with a shitty armor plate in the front that you can rip off
he's not even on the main path and doesn't guard any item, it's on a long detour with more enemies on the way to the drunkard refight
so yeah, ripping armor is useless
Probably the mutant carp nobles
Maybe his name is Wolf
Must be a reference to Date who historically conquered Ashina. Which would make the Interior Ministry either Hideyoshis or Tokugawa, and iirc they have Tokugawa mon
It's quite useful against Shigechi of the Red Guard (fire drunkard).
Isshin did, he made sekiro a man
>c1130 Robert's Dad / NanbanArmor
>Nanban (南蛮) or 'Southern barbarians', traders and missionaries from Europe and specifically from Portugal
>Nanban (南蛮, "southern barbarian") is a Sino-Japanese word, Chinese Nánmán, originally referring to the peoples of South Asia and Southeast Asia. In Japan, the word took on a new meaning when it came to designate the Portuguese, who first arrived in 1543, and later other Europeans.
I doubt it considering the guy never says "Okami/Wolf" when asked for his name and the only character who is called in a similar way (Owl) uses it as a nickname and has a real name,
I mean, since he is Owl's adopted son I guess he at least has the Ukonzaemon surname, which means that after meeting Ishhin his full name is Ukonzaemon Sekiro.
i burned the incense and took the giant knot but i don't know this guy
where is he?
I mean "Usui", I forgot they put the names in western order for some reason.
The courtyard near the Stairway idol in Ashina Outskirts, once Ashina is burning. You get there via a new bridge from the Old Grave idol.
I changed mine to japanese pretty early on due to how poor the english voices were.
I’m almost certain Owl gave sekiro the bad touch when he was young
I had major trouble with guardian ape 1.0 (6 tries or so), but one-shot his 2.0 double monkey trouble bogaloo appearance. After I realized that I was better off running around like a faggot it became so much easier, the deflect timing on his undying form's autismo attacks kept catching me off-guard.
When does attack power caps ? Is it worth doing all bosses in NG+2 or should I just kill the mandatory ones? I'm level 25 now.
Tengu calls him Sekiro
>took the giant knot
user...
Are you serious?
99
> 6
> major trouble
I spent 6 hours on isshin. That's major trouble.
same dude
It’s because in anime they speak Japanese and they also speak Japanese in sekiro
Tengu IS Isshin, you numpty.
Kek
I meant the soft cap.
That distant crash made me laugh despite how sad it was
Yesss more young butterfly more
Tengu is Isshin's twin brother.
bitch are you for real
Subtitles you nigger
Attack power soft caps at 10 and has greatly diminished returns thereafter
Now i'm on the Guardian Ape, need some sen, where is the best place to farm?
I found the FWEEEE lady in the temple, how do I fight her? I'm perched above her waiting to deathblow her
rat run, always rat run
That's Isshin Blanco
She has a legit glitch where if you face away she can't move. So i tended to hit, turn right around to cancel out whatever her move was going to be, flip back around and attack, repeat.
Are you a streamer?
隻腕の狼、隻狼~!
It's alright, user. I also just found out. We can be retarded together.
Because you got worst end
laugh at him, everyone, laugh
Wait, who?
Third phase is the easiest since lightning = free damage. Or are you counting Genichiro as his first phase?
Tengu is just isshin's memory of his younger self.
Based
After you reach that area where you fight the samurai after the ogre, go to the broken bridge and look down
tengu is literally coughing all the time and old as fuck
Who the fuck are the red niggers who invade the castle?
His japanese voice is so fucking manly bros
ARE!
ONIWA GYYYYYYOUUUBU MASATAKA NARI!
Yeah but just as you have your prosthetic arm in your memory so too does ishinn have his cough.
GODS I WAS STRONG THEN
Ware*
The government basically.
I liked the horse guy, he is probably the only honest boss of the game. I wack him and he stays wacked knowing his place as the easiest foe in the game
fromsoft didnt handle the english VA this time, thats why it sounds so basic. we were spoiled by all the english theatre gays doing dark souls and bloodborne.
thanks, do you actually know the romanji for what he says? I want to shout it when i take massive shits or something.
Is it explained somewhere?
Literally the only interesting moment in the game.
Ministry samurais.
Basically Ashina is failing, the only way they can have an army is by hiring untrained mercs who are just fodders for the actual warriors. That's why Genichiro is desperate about using Kuro's blood because how well you fight is practiclaly irrelevant when you can ressurect yourself almost indefinitely. In the end, the Ministry attacks and stomps Ashina's army.
Everyone is going to call you a retard, but really it was just bad narrative indicators. They go through all that effort to hint you in on the spear removing armor right at the exact point in the game you fight the only person who prides himself on his armor defense in the narrative. It's just bait. Spear is pretty garbage either way.
The interior ministry refers to it. They are slowly consolidating control over japan.
i audibly chuckled
tengu is literally coughing all the time and old as fuck
>all it would've taken for Genichiro to restore Ashina to glory was a set of fucking plate armor
That guy was even more retarded than I thought
We need more fan translations, I wonder how much of the game's story and characterization is lost this way.
Nah he's standing up and fighting. Ishinn can't walk anymore.
if you go visit isshins room before genichiros first fight, youll find a note that reads 'emma, will be at great serpent shrine. the tengu has rats to see to. - tengu'
>I liked the horse guy, he is probably the only honest boss of the game
I liked him and bridge armor guy the most probably. Most of the others just pissed me off, even the ones I beat on my first try. Demon of Hatred was pretty fun I guess.
We need more fan translations, I wonder how much of the game's story and characterization is lost this way. Oh no
Honestly I normally watch subbed if I can, but in a game I find myself just reading the subs and skipping the voice acting instantly because I can't understand it anyway.
When I switch to dub I actively want to listen more, even if the dub is shit.
The Tokugawa forces who are consolidating power in the central Japanese government. They're going around assimilating or destroying the last independent states in Japan, Ashina is one of the last holdouts but they're being whittled down.
Lose fitting armor only, you fucking idiot. The loading screen tips even mentions this. Why would you assume that you would be able to remove armor from a heavily armored knight?
How many headless are there in the game only found 3 so far ? (1.dark cave 2. ashina castle moat 3. fountain head lake)
I imagine 1 headless for every sugar
Can i jump counter the charge attack?
5. You missed one in the misty village and one past the lake near the Sunken Valley pyrramids.
My friends is there any way to cheese Genichiro?
I fought him for the last 6 hours I can make it through his two life bars just fine but the second phase always wrecks me.
I saw videos where they jump in the air when he does the lightning and take off huge junks of his health but whenever I do that I get shocked or it doesn't work.
Yeah i was joking
>My friends is there any way to cheese Genichiro?
Are you seriously stuck on this fucker?
I've beaten all Souls games but I cannot figure out his second phase it's like he's Mike Pence and I am gay
The dub isn't great, but I don't know why people are so upset that streamers decided to use English. I'm playing through it in Jap and it's fun for me to hear the English voices in comparison because of how bad they are. It's funny because the best voices in English all come from like shop keepers and Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa.
4
read the fucking scroll dumbass
just mikiri counter his ass
and reversal any lightning he does
Ez
I read it I jump smash R1 and nothing happens
My problem is also that I can only pull off the Mikiri when he thrusts, the sweeping attacks IDK how to counter
Hit him until his HP is reduced to zero. If you're making it to his third phase you're almost there.
As a reminder, the tooltip that pops up also explains this, as does the scroll downstairs, but when you get hit by lightning in midair you have to hit R1 before you touch the ground or you get zapped.
Go talk to the training immortal guy at the start then if you forgot how to deal with sweeps
Isshin, Emma, Wolf, Sculptor, and Genichiro have fine VA's in English. Everything else is middling at best, though.
Haha give up now because the final boss is going to make you sepuku. Geni is a challenge at that stage but still.
As for the lighting spam r1 when you've jumped.
Is there any place in the game where I can practice this? I can get him to the second phase without consuming estus it's just there where I can't figure out what to do
shut the fuck up
Jump. Then jump on his head.
No and you'll never really need to get good at it.
If you can't beat Genichiro, you should probably just drop the game because he's one of the easiest fights.
That's not true at all but he shouldn't be an insurmountable roadblock.
So this is the true power of Sekiro™ Shadows Miss Twice™ Dante Must Die Edition™ (Free)...
I went full HAM during his lightning phase. He attacks less during this phase and you can bruteforce his HP. You still need to parry but less than before. Also he always starts this phase with a thrust attack so you can mikiri that.
Thanks
any tips for for the caster warriors?
>That's not true at all
Are you joking? It's 100% true. Genichiro is a cake walk.
