The fact of the matter is, Nintendo is incapable of releasing a better localization than Tomato at this point in time. Tomato is a professional localizer with years of experience in the field and dedication towards keeping translations faithful to the original, much more than what can be said about the modern Treehouse. Anything Nintendo releases other than Tomato's translation itself (which he has offered to give to Nintendo for free) would generate only bitterness, vitriol, and bickering, not revenue.

user, you do know that BoxBoy only had a limited physical release in Japan, which is where the 20k sales came from. The sales for BoxBoy aren't known since the game is primarily sold on eShop. All we know about how well BoxBoy did is that it got three games on the 3DS, physical release and amiibo in Japan, and a new game coming out on the switch.
