It's mechanics not a 1:1 match for 2 of course, because if it was what's the fuckingg point, but it it's far close to 2 then CE is to 2, 2 is to 3, 3 is to CE, CE, 2, or 3 to Reach, etc; and the maps ARE closer to theuir original Halo 2 counterparets, then, say, Blackout is to lockout etc.

It's an updated, refined, improved Halo 2. That's the idea behind it, and it succeeds at that. My only gripe withb it is that it doesn't go far enough and the weapon balance, while not as shit as OG H2 MP, is still pretty bad.

Thankfully, aside from the Female elite shit, 343i has avoided SJWism in both their games and the novels/comics.

With halo 2 anniversary coming to pc we might be able to get rid of the prerendered cinematics and have in engine cutscenes. The blur cinematics fucked the pacing and lost a lot of the cinematography of the originals.
