Why are you focusing on recurring characters so much? The 4 zelda assists we had in smash 4 were Midna, Skull Kid, Ghirahim and Tingle. I don’t see Vaati or Impa being assists or 4 Star spirits despite having more appearances than these other guys.

Dr. Eggman - he is Sonic's main antagonist and has been with the series since the very beginning.
Dixie Kong - was introduced in the acclaimed game DKC2, was the lead character for DKC3, and was brought back in Tropical Freeze.
Phoenix Wright - his games were heavily featured in Nintendo consoles and has gotten recognition for its unique gameplay.
Adeleine - was introduced in Dreamland 3, featured in Kirby 64 as a major character, and later came back in Star Allies showing that dreams do come true. She can also use her special ability to make anything she draws come to life.
Lastly, which goes for all of my picks, because I like them, faggot.

Wonder Red, Saki, Lip, and Chibi-Robo. I like their games and I love when characters are still acknowledged and made playable even if they won’t have any more games similar to Captain Falcon.

Not only do I love these characters, but I think they all would translate to the moveset format very easily (like black mage would have spells from ff as moves), but they all are cartoony and classic and would fit in with the rest of the cast very well, and a lot better than some others on the list.

Also their franchises all deserve more recognition in smash for how many Nintendo games they've been on. FF classics (1-6) were a defining part of the nes and SNES library, and BM represents that as a whole best. Viewtiful Joe would just be amazing in a fighting game as marvel vs capcom has shown, and hes got quality games on the gamecube to deserve the spotlight. Sonic obv deserves more recognition and while I'd just ad easily welcome tails or knuckles, eggman and metal sonic would help the roster of villains in smash.

Metal sonic and black shadow would be very easy to put in, echo fighters dont always have complicated aspects compared to originals, but also choosing black shadow as Falcons echo would free up ganon to actually have more of his own moveset instead of being oddly attached to fzero with ganons current moveset (though I do appreciate they Finally gave him a sword).

Doomslayer - PC representative, the definitive multiplayer game of the 90's. Could be replaced with Master Chief, but the close ties with Bethesda at the moment tip it in Dooms favor I'd say
