You can't see any fine details in 3rd person camera. The camera is 12 feet back and the character blocks the view. Looking around inside structures is a pain in the ass. Only 1st person games can you leave clues for the player that are not highlighted with arrows pointed at it. I'm pretty sure that the people who prefer 3rd person camera all get motion sickness from 1st person and don't want to admit it.

I often find myself stooping myself from criticizing the game like I would any other just because of gratitude for sheer amount of content there is.

In reality, there are flaws with repetitive combat and samey quests with witcher sense. Like that copypasta states. Also the choices of the story are inferior to the second game even though it's last game in the series ( it is open world but still choices are inferior story wise and it's felt especially if you play one game after another). There may be some my personal gripes with the story where I don't find Ciri story interesting and just do it so that I can get to some other more memorable parts that remind me of Witcher 1 etc... but that's subjective.

I like it, timing to parry is fun, only issue I really have is that the dodge is too forgiving, giving invincibility frames, although granted when fighting packs, this helps me, but then again that's probably because I position poorly and get surrounded sometimes, I try to use all spells and potions on death march, where I'm getting 2 shot by level 4 enemies as a level 19. So that means I don't spam Shield all that often, like some might. Only time i use shield frequently is when I fight something that's got way more levels than me.

no matter what a game seems to accomplish it doesn't seem anyone is willing to consider it to be better than OoT
it could revolutionize a genre, challenge a per-concieved notion that every game should have some rule (i.e. fairness), be some artistic masterpiece that couldn't be replicated in film or other mediums, but people just won't seem to acknowledge that it is possible that there is a game better than OoT
certainly nothing as influential or innovative, but that's my problem, these lists aren't "best games of all time", they're "most influential/innovative games older than a decade". if these lists really were best games of all time, more recent games would probably be more common, and while I believe it's important to understand that OoT is an essential game and should never be lost to history (which is one thing I believe in a lot, game preservation, I wish Nintendo did a better job of this) I don't believe that automatically qualifies it for #1 every single time

I'd say Skyrim is the most overrated game of all time. I think Fallout 3, MW2, TLoU and Uncharted are all more overrated than The Witcher 3.

I tried getting into this a few times but then I realized I simply don't like high fantasy settings. That's why I was never really into TES, or Dragon Age, or pretty much any fantasy game. I feel like I'm missing out on a good RPG but something about this type of setting just doesn't sit right with me.

It's not all subjective though, there are objective factors to consider when reviewing a piece of entertainment. I forced myself through about 20 hours of this game because a friend kept going on about how good it was. Probably the most disappointing thing I've ever played. Combat was arse and the investigation stuff basically played itself. Bulk of the game seemed like travelling to watch cutscenes. Well executed cutscenes certainly but still utterly tiresome.

I really liked Mario RPG. It did a lot of new things for it’s time. It was the first time you got to play as Bowser, and it just had a lot of little fun non-combat related challenges and games that broke up the game and kept it diverse.
