It's pretty fun for $20 or so, don't pay much more than that.
Around 14-15 hours.
No
Great soundtrack and atmosphere, really good story and immersion, combat is eh. The game gives you hard decisions and forces you between a rock and a hard place constantly. Don't get the game if you're expecting a feeding frenzy type vampire game where you do whatever the fuck you want with no consequences.
>The game gives you hard decisions and forces you between a rock and a hard place constantly.
That's not even remotely true.
Buy the better vampire game

dumb bitch
It's worth a pirate but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it.
It was okay. Only thing that bothered me was that half of the minor characters seemed to be gay merely for the sake of virtue signalling.
I actually liked the combat. Felt like Dark Souls lite since I had to base all of my attacks around the reactions of the enemy.
I solely used the giant pipe looking weapon and went for parries as much as I could so I could replenish my blood pool and use that shadow bloodspike attack.
I never bothered with any of the other powers or weapons.
As much as I hate to say it, I'd recommend looking up a guide for when you reach key moments where your decisions affect the outcome of the story.
This game suffers from that shitty vague dialogue wheel that Mass Effect and Fallout 4 have. You'll end up picking something and something completely different happens.
I fucked myself over in chpater three because i made the mistake of mesmerizing a character in an attempt to give her amnesia. What actually happened was he mindbroke her until she became a worthless husk and turned into a mindless thrall the next night, throwing the entire district into disarray. And since the game autosaves to "increase the impact of your decisions" you're fucked if you get an outcome you didn't want.
This game suffers from this all the time with these big decisions, as well as small dialogue options where you can get permanently locked out of learning more about a character if you say the wrong thing.
Play Sekiro instead. Seriously.
It's not worth playing at all, and I say that as someone who pirated it because I wanted to play something new that was vampire-themed. It was a terrible game that punished you for being a vampire. About the only good thing about it is the soundtrack.
>The game gives you hard decisions and forces you between a rock and a hard place
What user means by this is the game punishes you harshly for not being a good guy. Want to be a vampire in a game called vampyr? Play another instead

Fucking this. You better be prepared to be constantly underleveled and getting your shit kicked in if you want the good ending.
You can't even feed on the criminals and shitstains of the town without getting penalized even though killing them would most likely lead to saving other people's lives and an overall improvement to their quality of life.
I also fucking hated the retarded double-talk from the developers.
>You can play through the whole game without killing anyone
Except what they meant by that was that you could play through the game without killing named NPCs. You get swarmed by nameless enemies all the fucking time.
Why are you forced to feed on someone until you drain them dry? Why can't you just use self restraint like in VtMB?
You're working in a hospital. Prime real estate for a cattle farm and you can't even fucking utilize it to its full potential.
What is life but death pending?
I'd at least be able to give it a pass if you could feed on the unnamed NCPs for a lesser amount of EXP than the named ones, but they don't even let you do that.
All you can do is bite them to increase your bloodpool to use your magi- vampire attacks.
And to top it all off, combat doesn't even feel rewarding since the amount of EXP you get is laughable.
It's worth it, combat is sort of like bloodborne but half as good, it's got some good dialogue decisions, great art direction, decent enemy variety, nice weapons, and excellent music.
The narrative can be ridiculously heavy handed and blatantly left leaning though. There's a Trump expy complete with a giant wall, and your ginger gf adopts a small brown child in London, big old organizations are often painted as pure evil, minorities are always good etc. It also actively chides you or has your player character comment on you doing bad things or becoming blatantly cartoonishly evil if you do things the writers deem evil. It's not morally grey or ambiguous like VTM:B or Witcher 3.
Definitely worth the play, I would pirate it thoguh.
It's fine just don't expect anything like Bloodlines
They doa good job of explaining it, basically vamps in this world cannot control themselves once they start drinking, the beast takes over, especially if they're freshly sired or haven't drank blood in a long while.
Combat in general felt very... off? Light? Floaty, I think that's the word I'm looking for. And I disliked how in the game you could move like a shadow or black smoke across open terrain but couldn't use that to go through obstacles in front of you like, like bars.
Guess who's getting sucked dry.
Worth a pirate or 10-20 bucks.
You can either go full serial killer and murder everything and everyone or pacifist and take it a bit slower because you'll need to talk to everyone and do every sidequest to get any bit of XP you can get for pacifist run.
How in the world are you getting punished? You can suck half of a district dry before it gets hostile, not like it's much of an issue anyway considering you'll be so ridicolously overpowered a hostile district couldn't possibly be a problem.
Unless you're feeding on a nameless NPC in combat. Even if you've stunned him first you conveniently have plenty of restraint to avoid killing him with a bite.
Did pacifist run. Really liked the story. I want to do a run where I eat all of the villains and turn all of my bros into vampires, but I think that can only end poorly.
Me, by your mom.
I was annoyed how even in a pacifist run i still had to kill normal civilians that just wanted to get rid of vampires. Couldn't even like stealth or run away which sucked major balls and made me annoyed and stopped playing the game.
