Plane PC gaming

what are some non-emulator PC games I can play on a long flight that I can play offline, can be played mainly with a keyboard (no mouse or gamepad), and will kill the time?

Thinking of shit like Civ but want to know what else there is.

what are you gonna plug your laptop into? Airplanes give out 70ish volts, and you need 120. 110 at the very least. Not sure about amperage, but as soon as you plug it in, it trips and resets the outlet.

add to this, if you're planning on using the battery, even the most efficent laptops will still only give out a maximum of 2 hours of gametime, even with toaster tier games like doom. And if your flight is under 2 hours, just put something on your phone.

Yeah, zero PC games fit that description huh........

It's 11 hours. And I'm fine with 2 or 3 hours (or zero, it's not that important) as even that will take out a chunk of time.

You could probably get through Shantae and the Pirate's Curse or Half Genie Hero if its a long enough flight.

I wouldn't really play 5/6th of these with only a keyboard and laptop trackpad.

I have buttons above my trackpad it's just a terrible experience playing something like an FPS with one.

That's why I used Civ as an example, since it requires pointer movement but it's tolerable enough on a trackpad.

I'd try it even if you do, having your thumb on the trackpad and your fingers on keys they naturally fall on works better for laptop games than I thought it would

I think some flights have really simple games that are multiplayer with other passengers.

I've only seen that once on an ANA flight and seemed totally pointless. People have to opt in anyway so I don't think you can just message randoms.

Why no emulator games OP?

I've run a Dell XPS 9560 (7700HQ, GTX 1050, 4K) at full blast on United's 787s and 777s. The 130W power adapter was completely fine and my battery stayed charged the entire time. I think I had to unplug and re-plug once on the 777.

play some old fps games. the ones before mouse aim was the common thing.
