soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Boring.
Its
It's a Kirby game, what did you expect ?
just like every Yoshi game after Story
>Kirby game
this, i played the wii u game and i got bored in 1 hour
Yeah the demo gave me a good hint that I wasn't going to like it.
Too slow paced and the music is garbage.
after island*
I liked collecting cardboard costumes.
The best was /trash/ can
This, I also found how they blurred out the backgrounds looked terrible. Which is a shame because when the game zoomed in without blur it looked nice
I only like Island and Wooly World, would I like this shit or is it as bad as it looks?
>Boring
just like any Yoshi platform game, but Island
this shit has 80 on metacritic, it's hard to believe
so are there patterned costumes or just 7 or so solid colors to select from
Can anyone give me a rough hint on where to find the fucking painting in the ghost house?
i heard it was fine but the music was dogshit
playing this co-op was the most infuriated I've been with a game in years.
Nintendo bonus
I’m enjoying the game a lot, I love the art style it’s so QT and creative to watch!
Story had some interesting ideas.
Its a baby game on the same level as Kirby and Wario Land.
>He didn't play the Hardest Mario Platformer in existance
Yoshi's Island DS was a great game
You didn't get to the clown level
Anyone? I don't want to look up the exact location, just a hint would help.
I’m having fun, haven’t played a Yoshi game since Story.
It's in the background in a house on the ground. Don't even look for the picture. Just look for the frame. I honestly don't even remember being able to see Poochy on it. I just threw an egg at a lump once I figured it's not on a wall.
Try the demo
How can Yoshi's Island be one of the best platformers every made but every game after it in the series being a massive disappointment?
Kirby fills Yoshi's roll as an easy platformer but it's actually fun, Donkey Kong fills the roll as a hard platformer, and Mario is middle ground. Yoshi games just seem haha and an effort to turn kids gay.
Can anything be done to make Yoshi games good/unique stand out from Nintendo's IP or should they just can it already like they should have done years ago and keep him as a supporting Mario character only?
yoshi was never good
always a baby game for babies since the first yoshis island
>Yoshi's Island DS was a great game
YIDS is the most uninspired shit in history. I'd sooner play every NSMB back to back.
Thanks!
I know this sounds like some retarded SOUL/SOULESS bullshit, but I honestly think we're not going to see a good Yoshi game again until they fix his character design.
Not that I think that'll be the reason, I just think that if they actually had people who gave half a shit about making Yoshi work as a game or franchise, they'd also have people who'd care enough to see that the new design sucks ass and always has.
I keep seeing people call it boring but what exactly are the issues with it?
It's a game made for three year olds. Imagine the experience of you, a grown adult, watching something like Blues Clues, and that's basically what this game is.
The costumes act as easy-mode armor that allow you to tank through 3-5 hits before you start taking damage, even in "Classic" mode.
Shame because some them look nice, but they essentially trivialize a game that already doesn't push you too hard. Also there's only like 8 amiibo costumes as opposed to Wooly World having one for every available amiibo with the exception of Pokemon ones.
There's a shit-ton of collectibles if that's your thing though, that and it looks nice and you can tell that had fun with the arts and crafts aesthetic.
Wario Land is a 200 IQ game I dont know what youre talking about
why anyone who isnt an actual child would buy this literal baby game and expect anything more is beyond me
try the demo
The only good Yoshi games were Island and Wooly World, and one of those was on the fucking Wii U. Everything else is painfully mediocre
It absolutely astonishes me how people compare Yoshi to Kirby.
I don't throw around this buzzword a lot, but Yoshi has been a legitimately SOULLESS series after Yoshi's Story and it really feels like it lacks any real passion put into it. Jesus Christ modern Yoshi makes the NSMB games look like masterpieces of vidya. Even the most recent Kirby game which was a major step down from Robobot still felt like it had SOME effort put into it with the Dream Friends and the Final Bosses.
Been having a great time playing this with my gf in co-op.
Solo experience is an utterly charming comfy platform exploration game. Co-op is tons of fun, especially when doing the flip-side find-the-doggos mode.
Fucking great game. Le edgy tween incels are sure as fuck not going to like it. And thats fine by me.
I appreciate the artstyle but the gameplay and music just don't back it up. Yoshi soundtracks have become increasingly disappointing as each games goes on - they play it way too safe and it shows. Also that blurring looks terrible. The game looks much nicer when it zooms in and nothing's blurred.
>tfw Yoshi's Island was your first video game
>still place it in personal top 10 games
>honestly enjoyed Story and DS for what is was despite it being minor downgrades
>despise New Island
>Wooly World was great but wasnt as good as original
>excited to play Crafted World
>its everything I hoped it wouldnt be
>Yoshi feels like shit to control
>first world was piss easy
>eggs locking on to targets took longer then it should of to get used to
>the throwing eggs in fore/background was neat but was ruined by lock on
>every other Yoshi game beside Story was challenging to 100%, litterally 100% the first few levels first try
>have to replay the level multiple times just to collect different collectables
>costumes cause the game to be extremely easy
>music was some of the weakest especially since every other Yoshi games have great soundtracks
>only thing good is its artstyle as it touched a nostalgia spot for me
This made me more upset then it should of
Kirby has been soulless since Return to Dreamland so I think it's a very natural comparison to make.
Robobot was far from soulless.
>slapping mechs into Triple Deluxe (an already soulless game)
>not soulless
>implying Magalor wasnt the best villian
>Perfect art design that takes the mechanized theme and runs the fuck out of it
>One of the best OSTs in the series
>took the Animal Buddy concept and made it good
>some god tier call backs even better than the anniversary game
>Some of the best side games in the modern series
>Brought back god tier jet and mirror
>"locked" Amiibo abilities can actually be unlocked with 100%
>that entire god damn ending
The only real thing it lacks in is bosses and the antagonist gets overshadowed and is left underutilized but aside from that it's up there with the OG Super Star only beaten out by SSU.
Nice to know you didn't play the game faggot.
Literally play the demo. Releasing one was the biggest.misyaje they ever made. Its an on rails platformer with zero danger and zero consequence. It feels like a platformer made by art students in an intro to game design class. Almost zero thought put in.
They're both storybooks under the guise of video game so the comparison is who cares about either
>easy mode armor
>mellow mode
>base game is already baby mode
Who is the audience for this game? Are toddlers really pining for a new Yoshi?
