Getting into a mobage again took me away from practicing before hopping in tonight. Hope I don't do too badly!

On the other hand, I hopped onto MvC2 to see if I could apply anything I learned from UNIST in that game and learned that I could do some more things with Colossus than I had ever known in all my years of playing the game. Was fun times for sure doing some discovery with a less casual masher mindset.

To add on, if it gets blocked, and you don't spend resources, you're eating a full combo. As a side note, the CS version of the combo does the same amount of damage as the EX Kuuga one.

Any characters in UNISt that are UNGA like Azrael. Normals that hit on both sides and are good for roll punishes, in front of you and back, jabs that are good anti airs and are fast and have good range, jumping normals that are good for both jump ins and cross overs

Oh and before I forget, Dia you should really watch your matches and consider using VO setups to strip vorpal or grd break me in the corner/midscreen. That's a huge momentum swing when you take away one of my strongest defensive options and there are lots of times during our games where I think "here's the VO setup" and it never comes, see ya vorpal. If I was in your shoes and playing a rush down character I would have pulled that trigger in a ton of situations.

Clean up on tick throws unless you were actually going for TRMs, in that case work them in. Maybe you were really wary of overheads being shielded or something, but combined with your infrequent throwing, you lacked something to break people's guard.

You've got to play keepaway and choose your teleports more carefully. You, and Yuzus in general, tend to do best when you stay away, keep slashing, and make me impatient and eat CHs. Often all the 214B Thanatos knockdowns I get on your reverse teleports are me inputting 236B when I guess you will either have a gap in pressure or teleport, so you've got to return to the basics and do slash pressure staying on one side to CH me out of any thrust attempts.

Honestly it's a hard choice to make whether damage or vorpal is more important to you at a given time. I can't use meter to set up VO but I have to cut my routes in half and lose a ton of damage in the process. At the very least I think it's something to consider since if you do go for that 1k route you put the other player in a terrible position and if they do something stupid or you open them up your damage output skyrockets.

I play literally no other fighting games (tried a few but didn't like them) so I can't really call myself a fighting game fan but I have a few hundred hours and counting in melty and heard from someone that unist feels like a spiritual successor.
Tired of how dead melty is now and how hard it is to find games so I'm kind of curious to see if unist is a good game to move to. I switch off between maining C.Arc and C.Ryougi if it matters, any characters with similar playstyles here?

I only do it on purpose if I think the opponent isnt ready for it or as a desperation move to close out the round, its not very good because im pretty sure its not a real crossup
any other time is me fudging the timing, i usually prefer keeping the opponent in the corner

melty and unist share some dna as french bread games but i dont think theyre very similar. I never was big into melty so I cant tell you for sure but I think mashing is weaker in unist than melty and defense is harder because of the risks involved with the shield/grd minigame. Characters are probably less oppressive than melty overall though.

I actually do know one for the corner. Though it requires the person be at the corner and I actually have to use a normal on them and Yuzu sucks at doing that in the corner.
