I know people like to shit on them, but they both grew on me really quick. Geryon is a lot of fun if you play the way the loading screen tells you - having your dodges on hand to get the pets out of danger and playing a poking back-and-forth with the boss, rather than just rushing him down with spam. Nidhogg is the same. V is a lot more strategic than people give him credit for - it's just that playing him in that way is only really necessary on DMD.

Considering we know Sparda is dead by DMC1, are you suggesting that Dante went and killed Sparda either before DMC3 or just after DMC3 and before 1? I guess it kinda makes sense as to what he said at the start of 3 about not having a father. Maybe he killed Sparda after confronting him about not saving Eva, and Sparda was like "she was weak anyways lmao" so Dante murdered him. 99.99% and I'm pessimistic by nature. The reason it's so high is Okabe himself said they're working on content and Dan also hinted at stuff as well, further more Capcom is Capcom and they're not going to let a game that did well sit around without bleeding the people a little more although saying that REmake 2 is already done despite that being a hit which is a surprise.

Good luck, I've been clawing for Nero also since 4. It's hard to get used too, but you'll get it if you keep trying and luckily 5 has a training mode for you to practice. As for your hands they're definitely going to hurt at first. I've pretty much destroyed my hands and forearms from playing these action games and fighting games. I actually had my left wrist lock up with a numb pain after finishing my Dante BP run. The next day it locked up again even though I wasn't doing anything. You don't /need/ to claw to get good, but for me it's the most efficient way to do it.

It's more.... score attacky than anything, with how you can replay stages and try to get better times. I still enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, it's just not as fun to me as DMD was. I didn't find DMD to be a "slog" as all the other people have been saying since it's really just about understanding how to deal damage while also gaining style efficiently. I'll probably just wait for the crashing to be fixed to finish that V run, though. Really not worth hoping and praying it won't just die.

I've always been excited and enjoyed the game but you literally cannot fucking criticize DMC5 at all in these threads because a vast majority of people here will just call you a faggot and most of them are or were literal paid shills. Like almost every other DMC community has already come to the conclusion that DMC5's RG and Trickster styles are demonstratebly weaker and less useful than they were in DMC4 but even mentioning this literal fucking fact is liable to get you bitched at in this place like as if you're some conspiracy theorist.
I've been telilng people since a week after the game came out. The combat in 5 is simply not as satisfying or deep as 4. It just fucking isn't. There's not inner mechanics to explore and removing both reversals and fucking RG cancelling makes 5 objectively less deep than 4 was. That's fucking okay though. People have already established this fact literally everywhere else. Donguri and Mills both agree that 5 is a good game but it's not really as deep and fun to explore as 4 was.
Now hopefully Turbo mode will be added eventually either through DLC or SE and we already know Vergil is absolutely going to be playable but unless they re-add at least Reversals and make RG cancelling a thing again and make Trickster's dashes cancel-able like they were in literally every iteration of Dante that has existed including fucking MvC:I DMC5 is simply just not going to be as deep or long-lasting as DMC4 or DMC3 were.

The absolute most retarded thing about the Reversals thing is that they were in the fucking game to begin with and Itsuno decided that because casuals wouldn't understand them or use them he just fucking removed it.

The RG canceling thing is pretty confusing too when you consider that DMC3's RG style was literally completely based around RG cancelling animations at the perfect time to Just Guard everything and btfo of bosses with it.
I think I see why they chose to make Dante have to play through Trickster Dashes' whole animation. With DSD and DT in this game Trickster becomes broken as fucking shit because you can essentially use everything twice more than you should so they made it so that you needed to play out the whole animation before you could attack so we didn't get instances like in DMC4 where you could clear out an entire room in BP within seconds.
Although really these design choices are really confusing. I feel like Itsuno literally just forgot what they focused on in DMC3 and 4 that made them so good. The lack of inner and deep mechanics is definitely noticeable after a playing a fair bit with Dante in 3, 4 and 5. It's like Dante feels outright stronger physically speaking but he's just weaker in pretty much everything else.
I mean at least Nero finally has some good depth to him although I still feel like he's a dead end like he was in DMC4.
I'm pretty sure V was literally just a fucking test for Itsuno's team to learn how to develop a summoner class in then inevitable DD2 though. V clearly didn't have any more thought put into him other than "Let's try and make these 3 entities function separately but in unison with a single controller."

DMC2 was originally Lucia's game until Capcom repurposed it into DMC some way into development, Lady and Trish are not main characters. Dante having a daughter would be in a main protagonist role and like I said if you want that, play Bayo instead. We're quite happy with Dante, Nero, and Vergil thanks.

Also if you got to the end of the game on auto that's fine, but now it's actually time to learn.
Treat Auto like the training wheels on a bike, you have to grow out of those one day.
At first you can try to recreate what you were automatically doing on auto, eventually you'll manage to improvise combos on your own.

Other way around, i finished game on manual and now i playing form the start trying out AUTO and it gives me better style score, also auto charging gun is nice too and somehow it charges blade, i never knew how it do that, you have to spam L2 in manual to charge it but on auto it slowly charge it constantly.
