The title cards for emotional states would only have added a couple seconds, and even the manga just overlayed them over action panels to not break things up. That's a stylistic choice, not cutting for time.

I love Mob Psycho 100 but the finale was kind of dissapointing. Mob goes crazy unleashing his power just to stop a minute after. Then the generic shonen villain loses very fast, and it looks like he's going to die from self destruction but nope, Mob takes it all and everything goes A Okay. The stakes are gone in a single scene, and it seems like nobody cares now. The villain is detained by some dude, and even after trying to enslave the planet his wife wants to talk to him so there will be a happy ending for him as well. Mob, despite "developing" feeling over the story goes back to being an autist, Reigen goes back to being a conman and we all welcome the new incompetent comic relief character. Everyone is happy, no one has dies(despite the city's destruction), and the only thing that people notice is a stupid giant broccoli. What a shitty way to end a good season of a good anime.
I can't wait for season 3, though.

That's because your expectations for the series are wrong, this is not a story about mob fighting villains or winning or bullshit like that, it is simply Mob dealing with his problems and some lessons about society as a whole, the powers are just a medium for that and are mainly used to make that kind of story more interesting than normal.
