MK9 tried to capture some of the old flair but they've been stripping it away with every game since.

For some reason the fact that she doesn't really look that menacing, but you know she's going to do some gory, brutal shit kind of makes it much creepier for me and therefore turns into a fitting design. Like something that looks harmless, then turns out to be really fucked up is really unsettling. Kind of the same vibe I got when I was a little kid and saw Sindel. She doesn't look THAT scary... just has white eyes and grey hair, but when she starts screaming your skin off and making your bones fly it made her really terrifying to me. Granted this was my mindset as a preschooler because my older brother bought UMK3 for me back then and I somehow managed to go to tournament mode with 2 controllers and let myself win until I could view the supreme demonstration when it let you pick a prize. Anyway, I'm probably giving them too much credit and it's just some garbage they shat out. Especially after seeing the 2 pretty shitty fatalities they showed for her. Some normal looking fairy woman creature going from innocent to really evil and trying to kill you has the potential to be a pretty kool koncept, though.
