There is no reason to limit yourself to reality in a world of infinite possibilities. So yes boner inducing designs are OK.
I wish Western game devs did more cartoony stuff. They're so caught up in making gritty world simulations that they've largely forgot how to juat make a fun, friendly game, something I blame FPSs for.
