Phantasy Star Online
Remastered in 4k

Did anyone ever do the Episode 2 Hunters Guild quests and story quests?
I did all of the quests in episode 1, and I know that PSO isn't exactly meant to be played for the ""story"", but I was kind of disappointed how none of the storylines they set up are resolved at all since they started them in the first place.

Is it worth going through Episode 2 just for that?

just get on ephinea

This is actually impresing

Source? That's smaller than I would have thought but I believe it. Don't know why it's so popular then.

Why's this better than Ephinea

I've done every quest. Which stories are you referring to not being resolved? A lot of it was read between the lines lore stuff.

Also, OPs pic is sexy af

Its an hd remake, just watch the videos.

The Dreamcast PSO version 1 was a textbook example of how not to make an online game, because the designers apparently didn't take online security into consideration. The online game was fun at first, but the fun started to wane a few months after its release, when people started signing on with hacked characters and weapons. The fun took a futher nose dive when a reliable method of PKing (player killing) was discovered. So the non-hackers started playing in passworded games, and when the hackers figured out how to enter passworded games without the password, then the game got to the point where players had to either cheat online, or quit playing online.

For example Montague's robot just disappears in the ruins (Or explodes, I can't tell.), and I assumed there would be at least one more quest to finish that up. Was that supposed to just end there?
Kireek only appears for one mission at the beginning, I thought maybe you would part with him multiple times throughout the hunters guild quests.
Ash just fucks off at the end of your quest with him at the end of From the Depths when you can't find the people trapped in ruins.

Check out Warframe. It's very similar in a lot of ways.

Unfortunately I have eyes that are required to play games and so the hideousness of Warframe (in general) is nothing like PSO1.

>ron burgundy
Its ok. Most people didnt like it just because of what it was.

I didn't realize little girls were a factor here. I guess PSO2, Private servers, or a ROM of PSO 1&2 Plus for GC.

For Montague's robot, you're referring to Elenor in Doc's Secret Plan? After she is fit to absorb photons, she starts to feel a darkness tugging at her which eventually absorbs her outright after she's weakened (Dark Falz)

Kireek appears in more than one quest. In fact, he's in several. Kireek is a top assassin in Black Paper, codenamed Black Hound, since he's associated with "Death" (hence the scythe). If you don't tell Sue your name in Dr Osto's Research quest, Kireek will fight you in Waterfall Tears and Black Paper quests. After Ash disappears in From The Depths (as you mention), you can pipe back down and Kireek is there once more to fight. If you beat him again, he drops Soul Eater.

Ash himself doesn't have a deep storyline. He was protected by Kireek at first due to his brother's hiring, but Kireek is there truly spying on the events of P2 and Ragol. Kireek is his first idol, but as you play through stuff - and particularly after fighting the corrupted D-Cell Kireek, your character becomes his idol.

Any other Qs? I really enjoyed the stories.

PSO2 is actually pretty good by the way. Not to be mistaken for PSU. It's so bad similar games opted out of the US entirely because of it's poor reception.

Woah what? So I missed out on all of this just because I told Sue my name? That sucks.

Is there any story elements that carry over to Episode 2 or is it practically a completely different set of stories?

yikes

Most of Episode 2 is carry over is some form. Kireek again shows up in Ep 2 in Seat of the Heart, again with Sue - showing that they were basically partners the whole time. He comments again on your strength. It's not clear if he was resurrected somehow, or if that was a nonlinear story path (you don't ever fight him if you tell Sue your name, as you stated.)

Following the main plot of Ep 2, you're on a parallel journey following Flowen rather than Rico. The government got a hold of D-Cells and was experimenting with them, which is the cause for the seabed catastrophe. Rico's red weapons spell Flowen's name as they were lovers.

The reason that all of the animals/monsters in Temple and Spaceship are different from Ep1 is that the data records from Hunters in Ep1 were all severely damaged during the Falz explosion. For example, Grass assassins charging nonstop or the wolves howling when you kill a different mob.

Hmm, there's other stuff but I'm having trouble recalling. Fun facts, though: Flowen was a Blufill and Rico a Whitill.
