Buy a modern $3000 PC

>buy a modern $3000 PC

For literally what games? Seriously, though. Name some. Let me see the reason for such a purchase.

games aren't meant for pcs. have fun with your crashes and time wasted. not to mention the money. oh, the money

Name 1 (one (uno)) good gaming pc for less than $1.2k. Please I reeeeeeeeeally need to replace this 7 year old Toshiba Satellite

you think that's bad? ask a normalfag the purpose of buying a smartphone that costs more than 50$

>$3,000
Probably to play their games at max settings 4k 60 fps
Maybe to power one of those high spec VR headsets floating around
Shit, maybe the dude's job requires it.
You're not looking for an answer though, you're looking to fling shit

I can't be fucked to make a custom build.

no, i'm asking you to name some games. people buying PCs for work are exempt from this thread. people buying expensive PCs for gaming are not.

I buy an expensive pc so it doesn't have an autistic fit whenever I try to do several complex tasks at once. It makes sense given that I'm going to buy a pc anyway so I might as well get one that makes my experience enjoyable, even if the vidya I play doesn't benefit much from it.

Nobody here has ever spent $3K on a PC. Why are you asking?

>For literally what games?

Crysis of course. At 1080 60fps, it's the best gaming experience you'll ever get.

NESticle
ZSnes
bleem

thousands of reasons

then how much do you spend on a gaming PC? what's the purpose of having one if you can't max out your games in 4K 60 FPS?

>3000 burgerbucks on a pc
Rgb and tempered glass don't add performance

>what games can I play on a super overkill PC
$3000 is not the average price for a gaming PC you gay nigger, if you wanted a discussion you shouldn't have started with bait

>how much do you spend on a gaming PC
It depends on the end-goal and budget?
I think mine is floating around $1,000 right now.
>what's the purpose of having one if you can't max out your games in 4K 60 FPS?
To play 1440p 144 fps?
to just 1080 60?
or to whatever VR headset you're using?

Mine was just under $600 and can play pretty much anything at decent settings. So I can play PC games. I'm not a graphicsfag who can't enjoy something if one pixel is off. How shallow are you?

Yea Forums really needs posting I.D's

Easy - escape from tarkov

For literally every game but those two or three exclusives that Sony still has, out of which only Bloodborne and P5 are worth anything and even then playing BB at sub 30 fps made me almost puke.
Also I don't have to waste money on shitty online and I can get my games for cheaper.

just dropped 5k on my 'rig' lol rockin that rgb 1 TERRAbyte hard drive

not worth if you dont do work on your pc at hte sames time

i actually do lot of rendering shit on my pc. i dont even have a riced out setup. just a fatass rig and one monitor.

Sarcasm aside, I don't understand how people justify the flashy ricer bullshit. It looks like ass most of the time.

all of them

like bloodborne and red dead redemption 2?

If you're spending $3,000 on a modern PC, you're quite literally just showing off your fancy computer and that's it.

>low effort dark souls reskin launch title
>flavor of the month movie game that's already dead
oh no...

Attached: FreeSpace-2.jpg (1024x640, 57K)

$3k is a mid tier machine pleb

There is none currently. 5 year old PC is perfectly fine. Next year though, next gen is starting

you don't need to cough up 3k for a gaming pc unless you're going to render a movie while having 3 games open in the background.
a lot of cheaper (600-1.2k) pc's can do normal gaming, might need to get to that 1.2k if you're more interested in vr though.
3k is extreme overkill for anything

>extreme overkill
a high end monitor alone is ~$2500 dude.

Only if you're buying Appleshit, in which case you're already going double retard.

the consolefag cope level is truly insane

and why the fuck would you need a high end moniter. get some normal shit you, don't need that 144hz crap

>free games thanks to epic

you don't get to dictate what I do and do not need.

Attached: 21757-full.png (665x374, 181K)

Are any of the free games they've given out worth a damn? I already played super meat boy.
The only one I installed was slime rancher out of curiosity.

Imagine starting a thread about PS4 and including the cost of the TV in it.

Retard here, does pc part picker make sure all your components are compatible or do you have to double check yourself?

Then you don't get to complain about problems you're making for yourself.
it wasn't even about moniters it was about the pc itself

Bloodborne was released four years ago. Still using it as an argument shows how little consoles have to offer.

yeah imagine, since either are useless without one.

It's not their actual free games
It's their other "free" games

It generally does that for you, though if you're really particular you might check for higher-spec RAM or some shit. But otherwise, any build they make will work assuming you don't fuck up putting the pieces together.

It does some basic compatibility checks.

Not unless you have a cheap monitor, you're literally like those 5 minute crafts cunts. making up problems so you can solve them

Computers do things other than play games.

so, does a PS4 Pro come packaged with a TV capable of 4k output? That's what it markets itself for, right?

Attached: onr3i.jpg (619x449, 35K)

only neonfag idiots and kids cheating their parents spend more than 1k

Attached: 1429960488948.jpg (604x453, 40K)

no, you have to buy the TV yourself

SSD. You'll never go back to hard or optical

>high end monitor is $2500
maybe if you're a retard who fell for the 4k meme, I have a big 1440 144hz monitor with all the fancy extra shit and it was only $600 on sale

I have like 300+ games on Steam at this point. All those.

But you're pretending a gaming PC is only used for gaming and ignoring the infinity other things it also does. Gaming is but one trick a computer can do.

4K stuff is cheap nowadays, you can get a 4K/60hz for about $400-$500 nowadays, and bumping up to 144hz is still under $1000. $2500 is in 8K-level, which is basically just retarded early adopter territory.

think mine was 25-2600 all together, monitors and cause included? CPU is 9700k but Speccy can't detect this CPU because Speccy is shit.

I went from my i5 6600k The Division 2 choking my 2080 to death to Ultra at 144hz 1440p. No regrets.

You don't need anything near this for sure, much less the 9900k 2080 TI guys, but acting like it doesn't make a difference? That's just sour grapes

> Working on baby's first PC.
> Start with a relatively recent refurbished office box for like $100
> Decide to overhaul the thing and replace everything save the motherboard, power supply, and the initial 1tb hard drive.
> Will likely come out to about $400 spent total.

You don't have to break the bank to build a PC. Some patience and good shopping can get you a good rig for your purposes, and last for years. After this experience with a refurbished prebuild, I want to try and make one from scratch. It's fun seeing the thing come together, and it's great building the exact machine you need and not being held down by the OEM.

Need that NVENC for my Twitch stream for all the 1 (one) viewer who occasionally drops by in the 12h long streams I do every day!

why are tvs not considered in the cost of a console then?

>$3000

>Only plays pokemon on emulators and DotA, which can run on integrated at 60FPS

Sounds like Yea Forums

So, it was confirmed that for the price of an Xbox One X you can't buy a PC that runs equivalent things and settings?
My friend bought a $1000 PC and it runs Sekiro worse than Xbox in 4K.

im playing Elite Dangerous in VR with my nice

shit is awesome and it was worth every penny.

I'm a poor slavshit and build mine for ~1000$ and I can max out pretty much everything at 1080p with 60fps.
Had a PS3 a couple of years ago and sold it like a month later because of all the limitations and how utterly boring playing on it was compared to PC.

Magnificent post

I am buying one when new vidya cards come out.

RTX 3080 Ti and a 1440p ultrawide monitor.

I have no justification, I got an i58400 that was prebuilt for free as a gift, then bought an RTX 2060 and a new power supply for 400 dollars. I never would’ve bought the latter had the former not happened

Did I do ok Yea Forums

same setup as me except for I went for 32g of RAM because I work from home and need to be doing 10 million things at once on multiple monitors.

>For literally what games?
All of them

xbone is a downclocked 580 with a shit tier cpu. it's barely mid tier. a 580 with any decent cpu will beat it.

Why is the case so fucking wide?

If I ever built a bitching PC I'd go all out to make the casing look like a Proton pack. Hard choice would be the movies or the RGB version. Movie ones are damn cool, but the colors of the toon pack may make it pop and stand out better.

Nice prebuilt homo

So you don't know what you are talking about, got it.

ah yes, that magical 2019 tech that works 10 years with no problems

user are you retarded? Apply your own argument, 512 in 2008 is nothing, 4gb in 2014 is utter shit. Your "overkill" is not good enough to last 10 years.

My bad I was simply thinking of what games were worth it for PC and as of right now that's the one I want when I can go ahead and spend it. Does not need a $3k pc to run of course.

>a 3k$ pc can easily last 10 years without being outdated
You can buy 2 $1k PCs every 5 years and your experience will be better you fucking retard.

>using uni pcs

>he didnt even read what turbotax charges for
Holy fuck lol you are nigger dumb

>Not using overclocked 1080 tis, i7s and 4k displays
Only thing bad are the mice

anything that runs on a pc runs better and/or looks better. Like Sekiro or Division 2 for recent multiplats, both completely shit on the console versions.

sorry, i have my OWN machine. sure, it doesn't have muh gamer card, but i'm not at school to play video games anyway...

I was gonna settle for $2000. My toaster is crapping out. What will I get with that money?

pcpartpicker.com/

We have Oculus too

Attached: 415cbcce223b38af1714d528c79b53ab.jpg (1920x1785, 328K)

If you don't have a use for something, you don't buy it. It's all that easy, so if you don't have a use for a $3000 PC then you don't buy one.

Don't, always buy a PC for 1k-1.5k. That's a rule. If you have a lot of money, update that PC early but stay in the reasonable price range. Everything beyond that and you're getting fucked

Anything over 1k, MAYBE 1500, is unnecessary. But, I digress.
>For what games?
The immense library of thousands of games that have come out for PC that has only gotten bigger and bigger due to not requiring backwards compatibility for most games (and those that do only need a virtual machine to run which is pretty easy to set up).
Most PC games end up getting shit up and ported to consoles, but the PC version is usually the definitive version. You also get mouse and keyboard and mods, which aren't options for consoles (or if it is it's extremely gimped).
Also, most of the time when a game does come out and is planned to release for multiple platforms, it comes out on PC first. Which is an arguably minor detail, but one that exists nonetheless.
And then you have the fact that a PC is the most versatile and valuable piece of technology you can buy. Wanna listen to music? It's all there for free. Wanna watch movies? It's all there for free. Wanna do pretty much anything business related? Better have a fucking computer. There's no way you can get by in 2019 without having some form of PC, so why the fuck wouldn't you get a good one?

enjoy your ocular herpes

yeah I'm probably gonna use that. I already have a good mouse keyboard and moniter so it's purely going towards parts. Gonna probably end up with something like an i7-9700k and 2080

>buys $3000 phone with plastic screen because it folds
get dabbed on poorfag

1080p never ever for me.

since shit is cheaper in the US in assume a 9700k,2080,monbo and 16gb. keep your other shit and maybe get a nice monitor nextif there's money left. just format c:.

what do i look for in a mobo? I'm retarded on mobos, and aren't they as important if not moreso as everything else?

Hi, zoomers

>poorfag
My entire PC setup is probably way more than $3000, I'm just saying that if you have no need for it, then don't buy it.

this is bullshit, graphics may be better on PC but certain games are made with console in mind and get a pc port that is usually less enjoyable, mgsv and gtav come to mind.

>inb4 muh mods

so zoomers can look at the rainbow colours inside it

Attached: zoomer_pc.gif (350x409, 437K)

no they aren't unless you want to oc which in case of a 9700k isn't really needed and won't net much gain % wise. you won't be cpu limited for a while with that processor.

for a 9700 you'd just want something with solid power delivery to have the option for a stable oc a few years down the line...non oc (this is a very solid pick to just run stock and not think about it) anything will do.

The best version of any AAA multiplat aside from fighting games. It's the same reason people got rid of their Xbox for an Xbox One.

Can you clarify what specifically about the pc versions of those games are worse?

Obsessed

>Games aren't meant for pcs
Aside from the fact that games are literally made on PC's and run considerably better on pc than on any platform
>crashes
My pc literally hasn't crashed once in the last 4 years

This.
Consolefags just let dust and shit collect inside their systems and then wonder why it stops working.

>have a 2080 ti and only a 2080 ti
WHATS THE BUILD BROS

I almost feel bad for you, poorfag.
Then again, if you actually bothered to get a job rather than shitposting maybe you could afford things.

>couldn't make it into a uni
The fact that you believe this just shows how low their standards are to begin with.

don't buy lower-end motherboards (asrock, etc). midd of the road motherboards are fine. mainly you want to be sure it has as many full power pci-e slots as you'll need and as many ram slots as you'll need. also having enough sata ports matching at least whatever sata speed you'll use and usb 3.0 headers is nice, or you'll have to put sata or usb expansion cards in some of your pci-e x1/x4 slots.

Since you already fell for one meme might as well get a Ryzen.

The "down the line" OC doesn't work in 2019. It might have made sense a decade ago when you could OC a CPU and get 50-100% extra performance, but on modern hardware you're not going to gain much. That means that if your modern CPU is too slow stock, it's going to be too slow with any OC it can handle 24/7, so you're fucked anyway. Just OC right away and get the absolute best performance out of it you can, or don't ever bother.

he cant, its just coping
ive played both games and there's literally nothing worse about playing them on PC

also check that it has good raid controllers if you're going to use raid else you'll need to put in a raid controller expansion card

SHIT I WAS PLANNING ON FALLING FOR THAT MEME

my case has a small one and it actually came in handy because the mobo has these lights that let you know everything is working, they go in order of cpu, ram, gpu, and something else I forgot and it was useful when I was building it because I didn't have the ram pushed in all the way. anyway I can see the lights from the small window through sheer coincidence.

Unless you're gonna start your own business (and have it be successful), you won't make nearly as much money as you would after a well chosen University programme. That being said, if someone choses something like Philosophy or European studies, he has only himself to blame. Either go STEM, Law or Economics. Otherwise you're right, you'd be better off in trade school.

I spent £3k on building a whole new setup recently, including x2 decent monitors; if you've got the money to spare without missing it and already have the life basics like a car and your own place sorted, then why not

i9 9900k

thanks to crapple

Attached: 1553582699741.gif (365x400, 551K)

I wrote that its a pick to run stock and not give a fuck because you won't be cpu limited with that for a while. OC down the line is always something if it begins to struggle and you are anal about locked 144. There are still CPUs that oc very well like the 8700k.

there have been quite a few CPUs that oc extremely well in the past decade and can easily last you 2-3 gpu generations. 2500k for instance.

PC is the only way to be an uncucked gamer due to the large piracy community. You don't have to care about any dev or publisher and can steal all the games you want for free.

t. haven't bought a game since ~2013

Attached: 1544172571794.jpg (719x720, 51K)

I taught myself to pirate at age 11, I've only bought games I really enjoyed and felt deserved it since.

just of the top of my head (anecdote i know). i remembered bully a while ago and how cool it was. torrented, and played it on my pc. it was horrible. then i had to get my playstation 2 out of the basement and try it again, it was great

You can buy a decent gamepad for $50. You can buy a totally usable one for $30 if you don't care about vibration.
What else could possibly make the game "worse" on PC?

so it's just placebo then, ok

Glorious 1440 144

Well, whatever floats your boat man

I don't think you know what a dollar is.
A 4K 144Hz HDR monitor is $1700, but that's just about the most extreme overkill. No GPU will get you 144 FPS at 4K so let's go for something more reasonable.

Here's a 4K 60Hz HDR one for $400
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014485

And here's a 1440p 144Hz HDR one for $400
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIACVB8U75201

You have to go extremely far out of your way to find a $2500 monitor and it won't even be good for gaming, those are prosumer models for photo editors.
None of the monitors I linked are some disgusting TN panel garbage with horrible colours either.

>Ryzen
>meme
I don't get it. They're good midrange options for people who don't want to spend all of their money on a 9900k. Or is reasonable spending a "meme" now?

Xbox One X is approaching PC standards compared to most other consoles, but it's unlikely consoles will ever significantly surpass PCs when it comes to performance to price ratio. It's not like there's anything special inside an Xbox, it's just a PC with different parts and a different OS.

Your friend either sucks at building or he bought a dogshit prebuilt.

The XboneX doesn't run Sekiro in 4K, it runs it at 3200 x 1800. True 4K is 3840 x 2160, which is a 1.44 times higher pixel count.
Additionally, the XboneX still runs like ass, hovering around 40 FPS mostly.

There isn't one. PC Gaming has been shit for years. It's just console ports, mmos, dota/lol and almost all "exclusives" can run on 2012 hardware.

Why not use a pc for multiplats and consoles for exclusives?

The PC as a platform has:

>The largest selection of games
>Backwards compability
>The ability to display games at very high framerates and the monitors to match
>The ability to display games at very high resolutions and the monitors to match

An expensive PC with a good monitor is going to give you the best there is for a long time, so it is worth the price. Now this is also flexible, I personally prefer to buy mid range parts and change them more often. You can upgrade whenever you want.

>then how much do you spend on a gaming PC?
I'm glad you've asked
>$350 for 2060
>$150-$200 for i5-8400
>Around $100 for 16gb ddr4, dunno how much they are now
>$85 for mobo
>$30-$50 for storage
>pirate w10
Everyone besides consoleniggers already has a monitor, keyboard and mouse, so I won't include those.
That's $750. More than enough to play games maxed out in 1080p 100+fps. Pretty affordable for something that'll stick around for 5 to 10 years, no?
>what's the purpose of having one if you can't max out your games in 4K 60 FPS?
1080p is good enough to me. My monitor is 1920x1200, so I play games in that resolution sometimes if I want to be fancy, so it's no game-changer.
Fling shit somewhere else.

I know this is supreme bait, but PS4s crash way more often than PCs nowadays anyway

>consolefags called upscaled 1440p "4k"
why do you guys make up lies about your shitboxes? i thought you were happy about your purchase?

Undertale in 4k 144hz

Of course they aren't. They all know they fucked up, but they've dug themselves in so deep that they just do anything they can to convince others and themselves that they made the right decision.

I work in animation and need a powerful pc for work/render. It happens to play games at high settings due to that is a bonus.

PCs have this crazy ability to play games EVEN FROM AN OLDER SYSTEM! So a moder $3000 PC allows you to play all PC games from modern to ancient with a few outliers being difficult to get going but still available unlike a console.

$3000 CAD barely get you anything

A potato maybe, toasters are more expensive.
Not really, 1k or there abouts will still get you a decent enough system

If you don't like the games you wouldn't play them, it's pretty simple. I don't know of any hobby which people spend time on and supposedly hate. It's retarded, it's like you are like an angsty teenager who threatens to cut himself but don't have the balls to kill himself. Grow up.

cope

for multiplats you retard, anything is better at 144fps
also you don't even need 3 grand for the top of the line PC

But I can play them as demos to see if they're good instead of risking $60. I risk nothing through piracy. There is no reason not to ever pirate unless you're a moralfag. You can always pay later if you feel like supporting the devs. But surprise surprise, all the games that came out in the last decade aren't worth buying. Oh well, I lost nothing.

My PC was around $700 including monitor and it can run every game at the higest setting at 1080p 60 fps average. The only games that is Insurgency Sandstorm, but that game is garbage in terms of optimization.

Is that a real tower? If it is can someone link it to me?

>pays $10,000.00 for PS3
>has negative 0 games
>Another $2.5 million for a TV
>$1000 a month to play online
>$600 for a controller
>can't pirate games for free
>pays $100 plus tip for 1 hour game

>Guys PC gaming is too expensive lol

I really don't understand console peasants
