RDR2 is a good game, not your taste maybe, but is a good sequel to the original one.

Quick answer that you probably want OP is that Western populations see cinematic products as being more within artistic merit than others. Things that seem more like movies, in their presentation, dialogue, and graphical capability, automatically receive more praise. A majority of people in Western societies will gravitate towards things mostly on initial appearance, thus better graphics and animation sells.

The actual answer though is that they're genuinely well made games that appeal to both Western and Eastern populations actively. They are more cinematic in nature and present themselves with more long-winded scenes over gameplay focus, but that doesn't take away from those being good aspects of them. Gameplay is solid, with cutscenes, graphics, animations, atmosphere, and world design stealing the show. They're incredibly immersive for the average consumer and still impressive for even the more savvy individual. They're good games that shine when it comes to what the normal person is looking for, and still offer a lot of the hardcore groups.
