When I was that age I would play absolutely anything, anywhere. Any game I heard about I had to try. The monthly Nintendo Power was like porn. Most of the people I was around felt the same. A new game was a real treat. I still try to play a wide variety of games.

But it seems today people pick 2 or 3 games with a multiplayer focus to "specialize in" and ignore everything else. Not just kids, adults as well. When people ask "what do you play" they are asking about your specialty games.

It's sad how much access these people have to gaming experiences new and old (both legit and grey area) and they limit themselves. I'm not sure why this is.

I grew out of that shit OP, when you become an adult you either quit the hobby or play classic autismcore. All I play nowadays is IL2 1946, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Dorf Fort, Mount & Blade, Arma, SWAT 4, and the odd new release I've been keeping my eye on. I've enjoyed some of the new shit that's been released over the last few years but I ever rarely have the urge to go back like I do with the games listed above.
