I'm assuming it's similar to German (I know Dutch quite well myself) and say it's easier and much shorter to say "game" instead of the Dutch equivalent to "computer game" or "video game". If you just use "spel" (game) it's not clear what type of game you mean, it includes sports, board games etc. With "game" you immediately know it's computer and video games.

Also, since games are very rarely translated to Dutch, people who play vidya use English a lot. Generally spoken, Dutch people are much better at English than most other Yurops.

The languages may seem very similar but they are very different in their nuances.

I've actually thought about that and it is a thing that bugs me.
My retarded mindset work-around is that there is the more original character that appeals to me and then there is the finished product that is a redesign made to appeal to a broader audience.
I think of the redesign as an up-and-coming actress I hired to play the part of the original character.
There is the version of the story that appeals to me and then the revised story that becomes like a dramatization of the events in the original story.
The annoying part is needing to change aspects of the characters that are integral to both the story and understanding that character.
Needing to create clues as to the original form of the story and the characters.
Like one of those shit stories that imply a jacob's ladder scenario, but instead it is that all the characters have glaring character flaws that would turn off a lot of people.
Anyway the porn would be made of the "actresses" I hired to play the parts and feel nothing for.
