yes. they just refer to months by number, they still do April Fools, and numerous companies did jokes like Yakuza did a turn based RPG with the new main character, Platinum did a game teaser for a game about their CEO, HAL turned Kirby into a Box and Boxboy into a circle, and outside of games we had stuff like a random new episode of Pop Team Epic airing.
