20 Vergil is a bit... different as the clone dies really easily, Vergil can get staggered by shots. Even on DMD it's still a victory lap.

I'm sure you'll be fine, but I'd probably practice until you could at least ace the clone phase so you don't get gangbanged. Then again that's part of the fun. In either case good luck user. Need more people with their palace taunt in mission 13 anyways.

I've played DMC games for a long time but I'm not a combofag or a "style freak". I just want some improvement in the enemy side. Enemy DT hasn't improved since forever and just makes enemies hit harder and tank more damage because of the damage reduction.

That's why I think Sekiro is the action game best of 2019. It may not have ebin combo vids but it has far more dynamic interactions between player and enemy.

This is flawed thinking. How is it stylish to smash punching bags or those constantly vulnerable bosses? It's more visceral to efficiently take out strong enemies. Also the camera aggression system that's in place is casual as fuck. Enemies are so easily staggerable and getting hit in the back is so rare since enemies have extremely long attack startup.

Nobody even use combofag combos in real gameplay. Just watch a DMD speedrun.

Yeah, that a legit problem. They could make it much more interesting like enemy having new moves and much smarter AI, turning a DT enemy into completely new threat. Bosses also should gain new attacks and patterns on DT. It's weird how such interesting feature is still an annoying buff.

lol. Some enemies up from the first genichiro down to the final boss in the game actually lose moves if you don't touch the movement stick. The windows for almost all of your arts that aren't dragon flash or shadow rush are the exact same moments of vulnerability.

And the fights and the respective counters to attacks will be the same every single fucking time always because there's one actual good way to fight shit. Either deflect, dodge, (with sword or umbrella) or play Simon Says.

The moveset variety outside the Rodin weapon (which is probably the most interesting weapon in either game) is still pretty meh/bad compared to a lot of other Action games and they nerfed her damage output into the ground (in an extreme case one WW only deals 1/6th of its Bayo 1 damage). Weapons in general feel very different from Bayonetta 1. Umbran Climax is a pretty lazy super state, it's just her serious mode from the last game but for extreme magic cost and you can't die while its active, there's some tech but for the most part it's more of a 'skip the fight' button and completely outdone by the super broken Bracelet of Time.

3 has its own merits, mainly because of the fact that it has a different BP than 4 and 5 and also because of the different atmosphere and enemy design and also that you can mod style changes into it which retroactively makes it nearly 4 levels of technically impressive. I have a lot more fondness for 3 than 4, it's just a better game all around even if 4 takes the cake for most mechanical complexity due to bugs like inertia and reversals

Survivability, and cane cancels to build DT. Cane does decent damage if you use the BP taunt to charge it up but it doesn't let you jump cancel cane attacks.

I use enemy step since it actually generates a tiny bit of DT in between air taunting, which is insanely broken for all characters in BP because you can jump over a group of enemies and air taunt for 3-4 bars of DT instantly. As V, this will equate to more tech in BP at the very least I'm guessing.

Regular cane is 52 per hit and lets you jump cancel, you can usually get two/three hits in succession super easily and get your double jump back.

Boosted cane is 75 per hit, can't jump cancel, but you don't bounce back at least if you fuck up and accidentally ground cane.

Non boosted cane basically has higher DPS and DT build.

It's a shame 5 is so poor, this could've been a slam dunk for capcom.

DRI is literally cheating.

Oh and Royal Fork is 112 damage, it doesn't get boosted by the BP taunt. It's worse to have BP taunt on when you want to royal fork because that means you can't cane > JC > royal fork.

Gameplay wise it's a very consistent game. There's no major fuck you enemy as they're all pretty fun to fight, there's a lot of variety in the bosses, the weapons all have neat unique functionality to them that makes them useful. It's story is very messy and there's 2 too many missions that take place in the tree with no nice scenery, but that's about it really.
