I used a Human Fighgunner and mainly used Twin Swords, Fists and Twin Guns when I originally played. I might instead use a CAST with full guns this time around. Or maybe I'll try a Force.

Depends on what aspects of AT you want to use. That's kind of the beauty of the class; literally any race is good at it. Casts and Beasts can utilize the weapons and not have their buffs suffer, while Human and Newman can actually cast magic. Also whips are broken as fuck.

Minus the buffs I always ran pretty physical with the single saber but yeah whips were so busted it was great.

I don't really remember what else I used on AT. I just really liked how whips looked when attacking so I stuck with them.

There wasn't enough PT love back in the day. It was a great class, especially after the buffs. Charm-shotgunning enemies into traps was way too effective. I guess it was a bit expensive, buying all those EX traps... And considering money might actually matter this time...

Were traps eally expensive? I dont remember them costing a lot. And since bots cant synth and you only hold 1 scape, its not like youll need much money besides for consumables and buying new gear in shops

It's going to be weird just having a content dump right from the start, and not having to deal with drip-feeding the content. I do hope people don't all try to rush to endgame though. I admit, I want to rush to like, post 20, but that's just because that's when more of the content opens up. You can start getting not shit gear.

I waaaant to say they were 500 a pop? But you can hold like 3 of each EX for 1500, plus another 2k for G traps, then another 2k for normal traps, it adds up. You probably don't remember it being expensive due to hackers fucking up the economy and people running around with like 80million meseta. a few thousand meseta per run will add up, in early game.

Realistically, what are the chances they bring PSO over here to the west?

G traps were useless unless you were a fighmaster with freeze traps. Protransers could hold 10 ex traps and so 500? So 15k for all 30 per mission...if youre getting aoti amounts of money its not a big deal. But if its back to 2006-2007 drops ehhh...

Playing on Clementine for a bit at low level, money was pretty rough to come by. C and B rank rewards only give you a few hundred meseta, maybe a thousand. I don't really recall what meseta drops were like, especially early game. And I disagree, burn traps and virus were still useful, as percent based damage could be amazing. I'd argue shock traps could be useful too. ... Regular traps were probably pretty junk though.

I hope they get rid of the "other people only see your techs at Lv3 to avoid slowdown" thing that PS2 players plagued us with. Let me be blinded with dambarta god damnit.

I forgot about those. They have their utility but its very limited unless youre playing alone. Because if not, youll probably have a ranger or force who will spread status effects around. And if youre playing in a group, shit will just get mowed down. Anyway, protranser is definitely not a class you can play early on. The stats are the weakest in the game and you need a steady flow of money to buy traps for every mission. But later on when you have the classes leveled and enough money to spare, its viable

Their stats become pretty good once you level them up a bit, but I can't remember exactly where their modifiers stop being shit. I want to say Lv5-7? The nice thing about traps though, even in a group, is that you can hit an entire group with status effects IMMEDIATELY, where rangers will need a little bit to get them laid out. I'd say it's still pretty viable.

Buuut I also avoid playing in 6 person groups. Shit's too chaotic.

Pretty sure it was 10 and from that point on they start getting massive stat boosts. I used to just keep that class on tabs until i got a rare mission. Then i would switch and it would get 1-2 levels easily. A level 4 bullet especially on a shotgun which shoots 5 shells gets a SE in 1-2 hits

I think so. I went back and played on the private server when it was still in "test mode", and I found myself getting totally addicted and having a blast. There aren't really many games like this out there anymore, and the ones we do have (Destiny, Anthem), aren't... Very good, for one reason or another. The classes aren't homogenized so there is still distinct flavour among all of them, and finding a new rare weapon can make a pretty big difference.

Sure, but, shotguns only ever get SE Lv2, which ... Isn't great, and borderline useless for burn. They also don't land as frequently. Shotguns are better used for straight damage. G traps are SE3, which for virus and burn make a pretty big difference. I have no idea what SE EX traps are, though.

As far as PT stats go... They just kinda progressively get less shit, looking at it. Nothing amazing but, hey, they can do everything?

Keep an eye on this. The forums will be back up at some point. Lots of people have written various guides on how to get going. Thankfully, unlike PSO, you can't permanently fuck up your character. You can freely switch classes any time between missions.

I loved PSO2 when it first came out but it felt barebones. Then with each new update, I liked it less and less. They just kept introducing new things I didn't like, or outright hated. Great customization though.

Well...its for the "beta" version of the server. I reckon they will continue adding more things and squashing out bugs, delete the server one more time, and then everything will be permanent and you can play without fear of deletion

Their main intent is to stress-test on the next server. It's been said, they're going to try to avoid another wipe if possible. Whether or not that's likely? Who knows.

What about the things missing? Like synthing, the last set of bosses, npcs, GAS, episode 3 etc? Can they reasonably just put out a patch that is downloaded in game or from the launcher that adds that content back in and everyone can safely play in the mean time? This really needs to be answered because i absolutely will not go full autismo if its gonna be deleted again

I saw from the twitch vod that this rewrite server has zones and shit from the PSP games but does it also have any of the PSP game systems like blocking and rolling? The vod just has the dude spaming techs for 5 hours so I couldn't really tell.
