This is all supposition by fans. In 3 Vergil:
Talks almost constantly about his popls
Fucks up Arkham because he assumes he cares about his family.
Only grabs his mothers pendant because it belongs to a son of Sparda.
Considers his mixed blood to be a particularly sore spot, one that he "kills" Arkham for.

It's a lot more compelling to draw a line between his actions and his childhood trauma because that puts a definitive reason on a previously unknown pursuit of power. And because he has that one single line about "without power you can't protect anything".

Anyways this is way on a tangent. We can infer from that line that Vergil thought to himself "because mom didn't come after me, it's because she wanted to save Dante instead and didn't care enough about me". It's very obvious she didn't find him because Dante did indeed take a false name while kid Vergil was busy making Mundus seethe with rage.

I always thought that them being identical twins that experienced the same shit and dealt with it in different ways was absolutely great.

I assumed that that's what Dante thought Vergil thought but I don't think it was the case. Urizen very clearly was affected by the loss of his mother even though he said he didn't recall any of that. The battlefield takes place in a field overlooking their old house. He talks about loss. (We can infer that to be the loss of their mother and maybe even each other)

And this confirmation finally gives weight to the old theory that Vergil's single minded drive to become stronger was ultimately the result of trauma of losing his mother at a young age. We could assume that the real difference is that Dante took his mothers final words about starting a new life to heart. Whereas Vergil just doubled down on his past.

Course this could all be reaching. The writing ain't 1/10 but it certainly isn't particularly the best I've experienced in vidya. It's "okay"

Urizen 3 also has Vergil bring up mommy issues with the "she always loved you more" or whatever. So it's not even limited all to his human half.

to put it simply, parrying is when you meet an enemy attacks active frames with your own attacks active frames. It can be done with any melee attack, and is easier to do with attacks that have lots of active frames like neros version of the stinger, or dants little ice storm shield.
