I heard the same thing, but the early game bored me to death so I just dropped it. I can honestly say I don't really feel like I've missed out on anything; it feels nice to just dedicated my time to something I like rather than force myself through something I don't! But it's up to you either way, I /have/ heard a lot of good things about it, so maybe it'd be worth it to you...

I'm playing NFL Blitz 2001 off and on the last couple of days despite knowing jackshit about football.
Shit's fun but I'm bad at it. Feels like for every pass I throw that gets 10 yards I have three interceptions or interferences or something if I don't just freak out and try to run with the ball and completely blow it. Also punting seems like a colossal waste of time when the AI's just gonna carry it right back into my end anyway and I may as well make a no-hoper run for first down.
Either the Panthers are really good in this game or I just have some weird connection to Carolina teams.I have no idea why I always go for them when it comes to watching/playing sports, I don't live anywhere near there.
