hey like this post if you HATe vide ogames
How do I beat the ape fuck
Didn't ask for any help on my first playthrough and it made it a lot more fun
Attack it, you retard
just beat lady butterfly and blazing bull, how far into the game am i?
Parry his attacks
Early
You're almost done bro
You're not even halfway through the game yet
First phase : firecracker it like a bitch
Second phase : stay away, wait for it to do it's crawling attack and jump over it
First phase: Dark Souls
Second Phase: Sekiro
Where do I find the pot vendor at fountainhead? Apparently there is a cave near waterfall at palace grounds idol where I can grapple, but I cant see any?
less than 1/4 of the way through
*ahem*
FUCK OWL AND FUCK THE INTERIOR MINISTRY
After having done two playthroughs, the game feels incredibly small. Areas are reused a bit too much, too many repeat bosses as well. Needs a bit more variety.
Is there a way to give kuro the kuro's charm after the prologue? I pussied out and wanted to test bell demon only first but it's still not as hard
Get out of the waterfall palace and turn right while still on the waterfall. There are a couple of trees there to hook on, follow that route and you reach him
Shame it wound up being a joke of a boss
I like the game but kinda agree. I asume devs considered 3 versions of Ashina as "content", but doesnt make it to me, also whjile Ashina is top tier other areas are too small (dungeons or valley) and Waterfall palace is just meh .
Wish for somekind of bambu forest or village map as Hibata state was.
I don't get something. Was Owl working with the Ministry ? Or did he just uses the opportunity of Ashina's castle being under attack to try to swoop in and get Kuro back.
Also, why fake his death to Sekiro in the Hirata estate, only to kill him later ? And why after that act as if Sekiro choosing to follow him rather than Kuro is the most natural choice.
>mfw killing the snake
I dont get it. Ive been trying to jump to the platform where the dude is from that tall buildings roof, but I cant make the jump. I dont see any other route that leads there no tree branches no caves nothing
just beat the corrupted monk (ghost form) already got the blade and the flower.
how far am i?
About 60% in.
He was, but he was planning to snub them and get Kuro for himself
Get on top of the building near the palace grounds idol, look towards the lake, turn right, and you'll see the tunnel in the rocks near the small waterfall.
60-70%
>mfw Isshin
I'm gonna be stuck for a while, right?
What phase are you stuck on ?
>Was Owl working with the Ministry ?
When Ashina gets invaded, Owl is waiting for you in the top of Ashina Castle. In Hirata 2, the memory gets plagued by the purple guys as well, and you can even eavesdrop on Jouzou and a purple guy talking about how Owl is leading the operation. In case it wasn't already obvious
>Why?
Probably wanted Kuro to be loyal to him and not his son. He is a corrupted piece of shit
just parry lol
>first stage
Parry attacks you don't have time to dodge.
Jump over the normal grab attack.
??? the jumping grab attack... Pray he doesn't do that? I don't know. I couldn't dodge that.
Deflect the hulk smash, gives you five or six free hits.
Use firecrackers.
>second stage
Deflect all normal attacks in second stage.
Jump over the swing perilous attack.
Run when he prepares to REEE.
Use divine confetti for extra damage.
Only his first stage is vastly more difficult since he's spazzing out and the grabs are hard to dodge.
Second stage he's a pushover since it's all easy-to-read attacks.
Depends. He’s easy to cheese (boring to fight), but hard to fight legitimately.
just lost my arm.
how far am i?
he's not that bad if you play aggressive and get his posture up quickly.
Tried to cheese his last bit of health with shurikens.
Turns out he can't be cheesed and you're forced to do a last lightning reversal.
Literally no health left but cant get posture broken from that.
about 90%, that's pretty much the endgame
>see the lock on from above
>take a break for a few minutes cause i know whats about to happen
I found it thanks user, that was pretty well hidden passage, the grapple point doesnt show up if you get too close. Does it matter which pot dudes bait I feed to the great carp? What are the rewards?
1..
whats the way to cheese it?
Move to a part of the stage with no flowers. See if that helps
The rewards are the same, the game says one wants to kill the carp, and the other wants to merge with it, but the end of that quest is the same regardless of who you side with.
do a couple side attacks and just deflect his basic 3 hit combos. he telegraphs moves a ton in the first phase
draw a gun on his dick💯
tips on owl 2 fight, in NG+ and got both demon bell and charm effects on, managed to get him near death but fucked up with one of his bird attacks, are they considered grab attacks?
based
Dead game
Isshin Sword Saint is easy its just fuckin gettin to him, you have to face genichiro the shit who obv is a cheese but he still finds a way. then you have his shitty second phase which depletes all my healing items.
Which Isshin?
I leveled for 10 levels now and still cant beat boss wat do
How much is there to do jn the fog era with the mist elder? Is it just a dead end?
LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE
you say you're stuck on phase 1 and still call him isshin?
hmm, where exactly does this fight take place? Better not be the temple where you fought genichiro.
Genichiro.
>deflecting, mikiring and jumping over sweeps and blasting him in the face with flame vent after mikiri was fun
>second stage catching the lightning and throwing it in his face was fun
Second encounter with ape.
>had enough practice with ape to be able to handle him already
>killing his gf before ending his miserable life was brutal and satisfying
jump the fire bird, run from the blue bird. owl 2 is easy honestly, get it together user
Kill Genichiro. Deflect Isshin to get into phase two. In phase two, run around in a circle and only go in for an attack when he does the overhead leap. This applies to phase 3, except you can also try to mix it up after the attack to bait out his lightning move and reflect is it back at him. I do not recommend doing this as it makes the fight extremely tedious and not fun.
Nigga what advice do you need.
If you get hit and don't perfectly deflect every single attack, you will run out of heals before he grinds you down through your block. That means any advice you get that isn't "know exactly when he can be damaged so you can speed things up" isn't going to help.
You're already playing at a stage where his attacks one-shot you, giving you no breathing room and making things like Raven's Feather, or Combat Arts, effectively useless.
git gud is all you have.
>Isshin is 3 phases
>Genchiro before that as well
Only died once so far, but why? Is his posture really bad?
While we're at it, what the fuck is the Hirata estate.
So Sekiro was apparently away when it happened "the first time". Using the bell he time travel and bring physical objects back from three years ago. While time travelling, he gets stabbed by the Owl, then rescued by Kuro. Then he goes back to his time, and three years later the Sekiro of before is rotting away in a pit until Emma gives him a letter. That means that for three years Sekiro had the dragon's ressurection power unknowingly. Let's not even get started on the fact that you can give a carp the bait from the pot noble in the memory, which causes him to turn into a carp 3 years before.
If you ask me the whole thing screams From not coming up with a decent plot for that part of the game, so they just decided to slap time travel on it.
Should have kept things simple
>Start at Hirata estate
>Get captured
>Start back in the Reservoir
>Dies by Genichiro
>Game plot happens
>Kills Owl once
>Owl actually faked his death again and you can refight him for the special ending in present-day Hirata estate
I call Isshin's "2nd phase" phase 1 too, since before you're fighting Genichiro.
First phase, learn which attacks can't be parried, stick close, parry what you can and wail on him a lot.
Second phase, just sprint around and bait attacks, hit him when he's recovering. Always be careful of the roar attack.
>tfw isshin
send help i am bad at videogames
Just out of the tutorial.
Have you considered gitting gud?
Stop giving bad advice. Parrying the ape is easy as fuck if you have skill
>Feeling like hot shit after beating Demon of Hatred
>Face Isshin right after
welp, there goes all my ego
Just get more levels and summon someone
How many likes can dragon priestess get?
Only 1 bar? What's harder about him here than top of the castle?
If he had skill he wouldn't be asking for advice.
So I beat Genichiro and learned about the Mortal Blade, now I can go Abandoned Dungeon or Sunken Valley, I went to the latter and it's filled with gun shitters and I killed a Snake Eyes. Do I continue on or go back to explore the dungeon?
Wait until you get to his phase 2
It's not time travel, you retard. It's him reliving the memories.
You taking actions in the memory is Sekiro remembering how it actually went. If you managed to see the merchant in the future and then kill him in Hirata, that was just a hallucination you absolute fucking reg
I've attempted both so far and I think I'm going to pass on Demon of Hatred. Way too much health and I've hated all the "soulslike" bosses so far. Isshin is at least fun to fight.
How many lapis lazulis can you get one one playthroughand where? Two from pot mercant, one from killing the big carp. Any others?
Can I even kill Corrupted Monk before Genichiro is defeated? I can't dent her posture for some reason and I've been wailing her for a long ass time. I don't have Kuro's Charm and have Demon Bell on if that helps.
My understanding is that all this stuff already happened and Sekiro is just "confronting" the memory, which causes it to actualise in the game world. Maybe he already had all the items and strength her collected there, and just didn't realise. Maybe he actually was there all along, including defeating Butterfly and getting backstabbed by Owl. He didn't have his skills or prosthetics last time, but when you "confront a memory" you do so at your current strength, the same way the Mortal Blade summons Isshin at his apex.
The second bell is a fake memory, in which he overcomes his personal torment (his Father). This manifests in him causing the otherwise dead Sakura branch to bloom again, either through his bond with Kuro or some other meaning like overcoming regret/personal hangups. It's the opposite of what the Pot/Carp guys end up representing with their Red Eyes, and their inclusion in the memory might not be purely coincidence.
I'm just talking out my ass though - the game says you're literally using "Buddha's storage space" so good luck working that into lore.
my cock
just pump your Endurance since you seem to have maxed Faggotry
In terms of weird gimmick set piece bosses like Dragon God, Bed of Chaos and the skull fag from 3 I'd say it's the best one yet.
>but why?
to even the odds. you should have 3 res balls as well.
There are clearly two bars
more combos, more health/damage, and he gets a stand.
How come Sekiro doesn't remember ? And how come you're grabbing prothesis upgrades ? Ordinarly I'd dismiss getting stuff in a memory as gameplay segregation but the prothesis, and the Owl 2 rewards, are importants
6 per playthrough. I think demon drops 2 and 1 more for finishing quest of pot vendors
He is a bitch but learning his moves and eventually beating him was amazing. At first he looks extremely menacing but it's really just an endurance test.
yes it's possible, but it was really hard, i died to it more times than ishin and demon of hatred
user when did you gid gud?
>It's not time travel, you retard. It's him reliving the memories.
How does he carry a magic tree branch out of a memory then?
A white monkey with two swords was harder than most bosses.
>It's him reliving the memories.
why can you ask "what year it is" from the tengu at the start of the memory?
Two from demon of hatred, on from shichimen warrior in the palace.
>no secret optional areas like ash lake
>2 hidden walls lmao
Genichiro. Everything before was just fumbling along.
If its memories then why do you kill owl in the memory when he is alive years later in the present.
He is easier than Owl 1 and phase 2 is even easier because his stand sucks and gives you easy punish opportunities.
Don't try to make sense of it. It's literally Dark Souls 2 Giant memories all over again.
ng+
Owl 2
All right, thanks user. I'll keep it up then.
Beating Owl (Father).
I managed to coast through until then. Since Isshin is harder i'm not looking forward to it.
Dark Souls have good old-fashioned time travel with nice, stables timeloops
When I was fighting those centipede dudes in Senpou temple. They literally never stop attacking, so I decided to just spam parry. Then I realized how large the party window in this game actually is and I never had a problem since.
I was playing this game like dark souls where you would just roll through everything instead of blocking and parrying.
I did, I got one hit in before he sweeped ne with his fuckhuge halberd and shot me to death
I feel like Demon of Hatred is a lot like Midir. You get destroyed at first but when you git gud and get a groove going its smooth sailing. His phase 3 ring of fire + sniping me from outside the circle with fire whips is total bullshit but if you saved your 3 malcontent ring whistles to the end you can make that phase very short, especially because he also stuns naturally from being hit
>He is easier than Owl 1
literal lies
Owl 1 is a complete fucking joke
Don't falter (and don't hesitate). I died to him instantly in phase 1 a ton of times, but that's because phase 1 is a lightning round, you either kill him fast or he kills you fast.
Go wherever your heart desires, user.
You can also go to Senpou temple.
Same. I fought Genichiro really early on and it was a skill test. I stopped spamming parry and started doing it when you have to do it after him, making the rest of the game a breeze.
MYYYYYYYYY NAAAAAAAAAAAAAME
When I killed Ashina Elite Jinsuke Saze the honest way, once you can perfect parry the Ashina Cross you've mastered what is objectively the toughest deflect in the game so far.
I'm at the endgame, about to fight Demon of Hatred. I heard I must overhear some talks to get another ending (?), so far I heard 2nd 7 spears guy talk about them waiting for Genichiro as well as the double quickdraw dude mentioning something he borrowed and how he'll restore Isshin's honour, am I missing someone?
There's only a handful of moments he's open for damage.
When he sweep attacks, jump and do an aerial combat art (unlock this if you haven't). Don't bounce off of him or he'll have his guard up after.
When he does stab attack, mikiri him and slash him.
Throw ashes in his face and you can slash a few times.
Use snapseeds. 4-6 snapseeds drains his health to 30% after which they'll stop working.
His vitality needs to be really low if you want to build up his posture damage.
Use divine confetti for extra damage.
you're not a dubfag, are you?
guardian ape... how the fuck...
Headless
Is there anything to the fight besides learn to perfect parry correctly? You get punished heavily for blocking and trying to run. getting the timing down has been tricky.
Just reached horseman boss fight. SHould I do him first or stop and go do more of the flashback area and maybe fight Butterfly first?
Do them when you have the anti-spirit defense on the Umbrella.
purple umbrella
honestly, just kill them late game with confetti. They reward you with useless shit anyway.
>Use snapseeds. 4-6 snapseeds drains his health to 30% after which they'll stop working.
>Use divine confetti for extra damage.
Now this is really helpful stuff, thanks a lot man.
Horseman is the first boss you're supposed to fight, he is considerably easier than the alternative
just umbrella block their attacks and then release it for damage
What's the best way to deal with Demon of Hatred? I can't seem to nail a pattern to get past phase 2.
I appreciate your sincerity, have a Like
Also when I fought Snake Eyes I managed to curbstomp her while trying to dodge her doomgrab, is this common or did I just I get stupid lucky?
phase 1 or 2?
phase 1 treat him like a dark souls boss,
phase 2 parry his attacks, anticipate his scream and run away (normally done after he's finished a long combo), perfect parry his final, long and strong attack, and he will topple over, letting you hit him 5 times as he lays motionless
This. I would have preferred another soulsborne game. 3 playthroughs and I’m already bored.
...
I killed seven spears the first time I encountered him, so then and there. Not in one try of course, but at that time I was thinking I'm not moving forward until this guy is dead. I also never realized I could sneak from the cliffside to the right with hook and stealth attack him so everytime I died I had to kill the big bois in the yard and fight him for his full health.
Alright, I'll probably still explore the flashback a bit more anyways, only went far enough to get the flame vent.
Anons I need help with the dumb fucking ogre. Trips are greatly appreciated
Make me
keep close to him
the red umbrella is handy
stun him with malcontent in phase 3
*tips
ignore ogre posters
laugh at ogre posters🐸
Always run towards him, learn if he's going to do the fire arm attack that throws fireballs (just keep running if he does this) or the one that streches the arm forward (he does this one less), for this one just sprint towards the left.
Stick to his crotch like a madman and don't be too overzealous with the R1 spam, block the feet stomps if u don't feel confident with the parry, parry the fire short range smacks (because they take hp away even if u block them) be prepared to block the head stomp/little hand strike.
Run away for the jump smash on the floor and return with rope for easy damage.
Jump the unblockable
If he does the fireball spam (I don't remember if this is phase 2 or 3) just run around him in circles and then go in when he ends it and poses.
Use the finger tool with the improvement for the final phase.
>need 4,800,000 XP to get all skills
>rats drop 2k XP on NG+5 (I'm in beginning of the game)
>need to kill 2,400 rats to get last achievement for 100%
>I can get 3 at Castle Gate in under 15 seconds. So to kill 2,400 rats equating 10 hours of farming nonstop (not including resting time)
I hate video games.
Paper Monkey Puzzle thing
What in the fuck am I supposed to be doing here? Leading them somewhere? Killing them?
I'm very confused.
the same playstyle should be used throughout all 3 phases -
they key is to anticipate when he is going to start his next attack, give yourself enough time to sprint or step dodge when you feel an attack coming
use sprint to get to his right side / behind him, keep attacking, you will occasionally need to step dodge a stomp, but keep to the right side of him
when he short hops away, sprint back up to him and circle to his back, keep attacking
when he jumps high in the air, sprint away, sprint away after the fire explosion but before the shockwave pushes you back
when he jumps far away, keep a distance by sprinting, bait out his attack where he throws a volley of fireballs on the floor, be careful because sometimes he does this twice, but after it's done you can sprint all the way from where you are to his back without getting hit, repeat the attacking strat
throughout all of this you need to make sure you're ready to press the jump button when the danger symbol appears, easily done, its hard to get hit by this, no matter how you jump
phase 2, keep the same strategy, but when he long jumps away, he's going to use a long pillar of flames attack towards you, but you can sprint to the left or right, jump before the fire reaches you and grapple towards him
phase 3 is the same thing
You only need to eavesdrop on Isshin and Emma, Kuro and Emma and Emma and the Sculptor. It's too late at this point and you missed your chance.
Any tips for sword saint phase 2 and 3?
Genchiro is my bitch and I can deal with phase one with 1-2 gourds, but after that I get cold feet and I only know how to hit and run his slow slam+swing. I don't know if it's because I know I'm halfway done and I'm afraid of fucking up or because he hits so fucking hard in that phase, but I cannot get into his combos without getting rekt. Hesitation is defeat indeed holy fuck
How beat O'rin and Corrupt Monk
This sucks
you don't need to eavesdrop on Isshin and Emma only kuro.
killing is just about the only thing you ever do
Learn to deflect him. I know it sounds meme but it's the only thing you need.
Dodge his spear slam for easy damage.
Return the lightning for braindead phase 4
>2k XP on NG+5
Nigga you can get 2k xp in 1 minute or less on NG.
block lots, deflect a little, don't get fucked by the huge charged swings and mikiri the obvious thrusts.
2k/min (You)
vs
8k/15 seconds (me)
really jogs my noggin user
>O'rin
when she spins towards you, step dodge forward at the last moment, hit her in the back
when she's like 50% hp, build her posture by hitting her, and deflecting her
corrupt monk is harder to explain, i had a lot of trouble with him
Yeah, that sounds a lot better than getting 24k per minute like his method.
Very helpful.
Her*
I FINALLY FUCKING DID IT
I BEAT SWORD SAINT, WITNESS ME!
To any anons having trouble, my advice is put in a few attempts and if it isn’t going well, just turn off the game and take a break. Every time I did this I did better after coming back, then today I turned on my game and got him second try.
Also 100% take advantage of mikiriing and lightning reversaling him, makes it much easier
>Kuro: Wolf. Rice tastes much better when it is cooked.
>Wolf: ...Cooked?
Oh good lord hes autistic
isn't it faster to run from Outskirt Wall to the bridge when the red guys are around? NG+4 I think I get +20k
Yeah it is.
But I literally just killed Gyobo. So I have a bit of a ways to get there.
Do you think it be worth speedrunning the game until Ashina Castle Part 3 to farm red fags?
have an upboat bro
witnessed
do you play without bell and with charm? If yes do it takes like 30-40 min if you know all the boss abuses.
Blame the environment he was raised in.
>Corrupt Monk
cheese with snap seeds and firecrackers
though I'd just recommend learning her patterns because you'll fight a harder version later
Imagine Snake and Wolf having a chat.
I just got back from Senpou Temple and am at the part where all those ninja fags have overrun the castle. About how far into the game am I?
>O-Rin
Sabimaru leaves her wide open to attack when you proc poison.
Senpou Kick/High Monk punishes her sweep massively.
You can deathblow her if you throw oil at her while she's in her NPC state but you have to be behind her and also be quick to react since the deathblow window is very short
>Corrupt Monk
You can abuse Firecracker+Snap seed+fistful of ash.
Lazulite Axe destroys her but you won't have it until later, good for NG+ though.
Her attacks are very easy to deflect once you got them down though.
>metal gear huh ?
I can always get rid of the bell and get the charm back from the sculptor i think
he's kicking my fucking teethe in i cant fucking do it
My excitement got really deflated once I realized that all the areas I discovered were just going to be mandatory for the main quest anyway.
yeah, it's a good idea to get the other beads for health ups first
>O'rin
Use sabimaru. Land two combos on her regardless of whether she's blocking or not and she takes huge damage. Land four combos and she's basically dead already.
>Corrupt Monk
see
I mean if you play hard mode it will take longer
>he
The thing with corrupted monk is that her posture bar resets super fast. Only when you get half her health does the posture meter start to fill more quickly.
I found trading hits with him in last phases is easiest. Hit once or twice and deflect his counter, then hit again. Last phase is easier because of lightning reversal.
is that the best farming method? Isn't late game antechamber better?
Genichiro
>achievement whores
>console peasants
dumbasses
Women can't be monks.
you can parry all his gorilla attacks except his grabs. The big leaping grab he does just sprint directly away from him and you'll be fine
Hello Yea Forums, user here, I just wanted to tell you I killed the guardian ape in my third try, first time I got to the second phase and managed to kill him after running out of gourd and pellets, you may congratulate me on my gud gitting.
And you can't be with a woman.
phase 1 or 2 though?
phase 1 deflect his attacks, he'll leave himself open after a combo for you to hit him
take an opportunity to step dodge after his last attack in a combo to get more hits in
phase 2 is a lot easier, you only need to parry, his attacks are fast and seem random because of his random movement, so just keep hitting the deflect button, even if you mash the button it's okay, just make sure you perfect deflect his long wind up attack at the end of a combo, so he falls over
when he's done a combo, he's 90% of the time going to scream, you can run out of range by sprinting when he does
I had problem with it since I panicked when no tree came up at the end, and I rushed to him instead, seeing trees coming up later, only to not see a lightning, while dodging wind slashes in mid air and on the ground while parrying some. It was great.
I want more Sekiro, DLC when?
upliked
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
I'm about to fight Isshin, you guys got any tips?
Interesting claim, however...
I investigated and I came to the conclusion that it's a false statement. I found a woman in my bed just now.
Holy fuck, I love this game.
I had never played a From game, but I wanted to get into it through this since it would be the latest title. At first, I got through by sneaking behind people and killing them. Then, as I ran into roadblocks like the Ogre or samurai general behind him, I would barely skate by with a sliver of health and no resurrect left. I thought I would barely be able to manage, but still got through a good portion of the beginning of the game. Then I ran into the bull. Died countless times before realizing I had to mix up my technique against other bosses. After a couple hours, finally got past him. Then I ran into the Seven Spears motherfucker guarding the little house from the beginning of the game. I got stuck on this motherfucker for 3 hours before giving up, even after stealing one deathblow from him by stealthing. So I tried finding another way to progress, and then I ran into the ninja motherfucker in the well. Got stuck on him for 3 hours too. Just about damn near uninstalled the game before some fag here told me I had to truly learn their patterns and quit pussyfooting around them and get aggressive. So I did, and beat Seven Spears after the second retry, along with beating the ninja in the well on the first retry. Then everything clicked, and when it did, this game became a blast. Beat Genichiro second try. Beat Guardian Ape first try, along with the rematch first try. Beat Owl second try. Beat Demon of Hatred on fourth try, after finally learning his patterns. This game is easily going to be my GOTY.
And to all the anons out there who think you can't make it to the ending of the game: you can. I was complete garbage at first but once you understand and embrace the mechanics, this game becomes amazing and the bosses don't seem as impossible. Thanks for reading my blog.
Poison builds up if blocked, that includes Sabimaru right?
When I use it most enemies just block it all so is it only useful vs enemies who don't block like the fat fucks?
It does vitality damage and lowers defense, right? thats what I'm getting from the tooltips.
What's the best counter for sweeps? Just jump over and stepping over them or should I dodge away then dodge in for a counterattack?
Don't hesitate
Always jump and kick their head
You can't count yourself.
your cat doesn't count
Jump and step on them for the best outcome but just dodge them if you're not ready for it. Dont push yourself to counter each move perfectly and get your shit pushed in when you could just cheese it.
senpou leaping kicks / high monk is objectively the best counter for sweeps, but yeah usually you are supposed to just jump off their head
How can a game that gives you warnings for dangerous attacks be hard
liked and subscribed
The final 2 stages or sword saint are slapping my shit in. Any tips?🌈
So what's the deal with the monkey above the second Headless Ape fight?
Phase 2 requires you to have posture management so you can mikiri the final hit on his mikiri counter.
Phase 3 is just lmao lightning counter
Jump and do a suitable aerial combat art instead of stepping.♨️
So was the Return ending a tease for DLC or a sequel?
"That's my boy"
How do I pleasure her
I just beat the two mini bosses at the ashina resevoir the purple dude and the spearmen, do I NEED to go through the abandoned dungeon to get to senpou? or should I climb ashina castle?
>memory owl on NG+ with demon bell and no charm
>half of his moves one-shot you with 10 bracelets
extreme cancer
I had a blast
They say later that Kuro can't bleed through normal means, but how did he resurrect Wolf at the Hirata Estate?
Is there some weird translation error or different meaning where Kuro doesn't literally mean to take his blood?
Or is Kuro secretly a girl who gave you a different kind of blood?
And why does Kuro ask you to close your eyes so he can cut his chest? Is it because he isn't actually a boy and is embarrassed?
This your first time on chan? No one wants to read all this shit
This and picrelated.
How do you get up there?
Sake, tell me about Sake, I don't wanna check the wiki because they are retarded.
...is this r34?
When you kill emma and isshin gets pissed
go through poison swamps where snake-eye is, there's a grapple point up left, follow the path
it's all lore stuff
he doesnt always do the combo that makes him fall over though, sometimes he makes an unblockable combo that breaks your posture and gets a hit on you. shit is bullshit, the one that has a long windup is RNG
Sword Nigger is impossible

When you leave the poison pool area into the tunnel towards the ape you just look left and you'll see it.
I just don't understand why there is a monkey there, I thought pupetting him would do something but got nothing.
You don't know either?
am retarded. Can someone explain to me the logic of following / breaking the Iron Code.
Kuro is our master and the Iron Code states our master is absolute so by opting to obey the code we forsake our master for a new master. Shouldn't obeying the code have us defend Kuro and breaking the code have us forsake him?
>Sake, tell me about Sake
>Kuchikamizake (口噛み酒, " "mouth-chewed sake") is a kind of rice-based alcohol produced by a process involving human saliva as a fermentation starter. Kuchikamizake was one type of the earliest sake. Kuchi means "mouth", kami means "chew" and zake is the rendaku form of "sake". "Kuchikami no sake" is a synonym.
It's actually non sword saint Isshin. Him going full Gwyn on yo ass is way better than the spear shit.
you can fully parry both of his combos and make him fall down, but the timing on the one you describe is a lot tougher
Do you think Sekiro used Kuro before killing him in Immortal Severance? Like why would anyone waste a perfectly unused shota...
Whatever you want. You need to clear all those areas eventually
No, I gave everyone every sake, they just allude to how they met each other and how sculptor is a demon because he enjoys monkey booze
Malcontent ring confuses them, giving big dmg windows. Unload with confetti.
When he teleports behind you for assgrab, don't jump or run away, just turn around and face him. This confuses him for a sec and he just stands there. It's a legit mechanic, he has an inbuilt animation for that, good for getting 1-2 blows in.
You should've climbed the castle asap. How dare you leave Kuro with Genichiro for so long
no matter what combo he does he wont break your posture as long as you're deflecting properly
if you see your posture is close to breaking, simply sprint away, and hold the block button to remove your built up posture, Ape can't do anything about this, so you will never be punished because you will always be at him on 0% posture
The Iron Code is to listen to your father. Owl
He told you to to protect the young master.
The parent is absolute.
If Owl says to suck his dick, you obey the iron code and suck that man's dick
If Owl says to forsake Kuro, you obey the iron code and forsake kuro
When is my deadline to kill Owl 2? Is it the dragon?
You're quoting Rule #2
Rule #1 is the father's will is absolute.
I felt like the game was pretty tongue-in-cheek about it tbqh.
Owl trying to backstab Wolf.
Decapitating Isshin, would have been 10/10 kino if he was actually decapitated and didn't wear that stupid helmet.
View of Fountainhead Palace
At the beginning of the game Owl says that the word of Wolf's father (Owl) comes first, and his master comes a close second.
Requesting the pepe great ape sitting and shitting on wojak Wolf
so when he does that one my only chance is to what? fuck off? or is that the only combo hell make once his HP is by a half
Favorite bosses are probably Genichiro and both isshin fights. Isshin sword saint wasn't incomprehensibly hard like a lot of you fags were making it out to be, I beat him after like 5 or 6 consecutive tries? Which honestly isn't saying much since this was about the average when studying the bosses patterns, I had more trouble with the ape and 10 vitality 10 attack power lady butterfly
No, I'm the guy asking about the monkey, not the sake.
thanks, went again and besides that gay-ass jump with spear swing that seems to get me no matter what I managed to deflect most of it. I think that by tomorrow I'll have phase 2 down
honestly for something I have been stuck with for literal days this fight feels so rewarding to master.
we are all gonna make it bros
Monkey doesn't do shit if you puppet him, but he is looking at an item iirc
>At the beginning of the game Owl says the N word
based
is blessed confetti, or whatever its called, rare? ive got 5, and im worried im going to waste it all getting my ass kicked by the headless fuck in the cave
Huh guys, where am I supposed to go? Right now I can
>Fight the headless guy, what the fuck is even that status ailment
>finish the estate, or fight the purple guy who's wipping the floor with my face
>fight the spear guy in the ashina reservoir, I almost got him
>climb ashina castle
>explore the abandoned dungeon which seems to have more of that weird blue ailment
I'm amazed by the level design, but also lost.
Really weird how the mid bosses are far harder than the actual big bosses I fought so far, save for the headless dude because what the hell
The headless fights are honestly so fucking bad, they single-handedly bring down this game a spot in my From game ranking simply because the retarded decision to include them shines a negative light on the game as a whole.
learn the timing or run away, his only unavoidable attacks are his scream, his autistic sweep, and his jumping sweep
you can also reliably stagger him twice per phase at about each third of health
no fuck off brainlet
You can do it, don't hesitate
You can buy them from a vendor, and they're unlimited. If you know where to farm, the price of 300 is nothing.
You can buy it from vendors once you beat the first guy in the last area, i.e. monk in fountainhead
Somewhat, until endgame
But you don't really need it that much
Shichimen warriors can be instadeathblown during jump, O'Rin is too easy to use it on her, so it only leaves headless and corrupted monk.
DUDE CONFETTI AND EATING FUCKING MEDICINE IS FUN GAME DESIGN LMAO
They are honestly the only miniboss that I like. The others are shit. Why don’t you like them
He's looking at Monkey Booze on top of an Orangutan skeleton, I'm not saying puppeting him does something, I said the opposite actually, I'm saying I don't understand why he's there, it's not like the item couldn't just be sitting there.
Any of the latter 3 would be advisable, most straight forward would be to climb the castle, though you should probably take the spear guy out since he'll be a breeze later (and also might become unavailable later)
Did you consider that you're probably an idiot? Why don't you post some reasoning instead of just whining?
Don't allow his posture to regen, always be running into range and baiting attacks to make him always attacking so it never drains. Parry and dodge everything you're not sure you can outrun, whack him once or twice where you can, and just keep building up his posture til it breaks
just climb ashina castle, after you do, i wont spoil what happens but the game sets you in motion on how to beat the game and where are the key places you'll have to go. plus im pretty sure they told you kuro was held up there and that you had to rescue him
Thanks
They should have just added the divine effect as a ninja prosthetic or fucking ninjutsu. It makes no sense why it's tied to an item.
I got the white flower and the mortal blade, the fuck do I do now?
No wait, I'm an idiot, I thought you meant the Headless Apes.
I didn't think the Headless were THAT bad though, other than the slow mist bullshit. But I can see why people dislike them.
Owl seemed to be playing all sides against each other so he could scoop up the Dragon Heritage in the Chaos, and Wolf was supposed to be his ace in the hole
Why didn't they let us dress up Kuro?
>sword saint
>use a gun
Thanks, I had a feeling the purple guy was just too much at this point.
Missed the NPCs that get you to Hirata Estates, reached the end of Senpou Temple, and died enough times that they caught the dragon aids. Was told a lot of prosthetics are found there, and combat is getting stale, so how/when can I cure them?
go to ashina depths to the sunken valley/gun fort idiot
HOLY JESUS. I JUST BEAT THE FINAL BOSS AND IT TOOK ME 5 HOURS. MY HANDS ARE STIFF AS FUCK AND MY THUMB IS SQUEAKING, IS THIS NORMAL?
make virgin gwyn edition
It feels like a Platinum or God of War boss. It's the first time in Soulsborne they made a boss specifically made to make you feel empowered and badass.
hnnng post more sekino
As long as you have the new bell, you can do Owl 2 even after the dragon
no, you have cancer
They're saving that for the DLC and/or sequel.
>O-Rin with Bell Demon and Kuro's charm on NG+3
Posture builds so fast even when fully deflecting flurries of hits, I find myself dodging a lot more than usual.
Talk to Emma and she'll tell you to get the blood sample of a victim. Get the blood sample from any of the infected, and give it back to her. She'll enable you to spend Dragon's Blood Droplets at idols to cure them.
Please come beat it for me. I was already about to throw my TV on the ground just now.
But that's where I got the white flower from, was there supposed to be more stuff after monkey trouble?
Wtf is it with people missing out on this. Rewatch the intro. Damn, he even recites the thing to you during owl 1 when you die.
The father is absolute and must always be obeyed. The assigned master is a close second.
oh then you're missing the incense, go to mibu village
Sounds better than gun saint
Poison builds up even if blocked but at half the normal amount. You can improve it later to damage posture and vitality if blocked and it also builds up poison faster.
I did it on hard (the bell curse) so if you are playing on normal it should take you around 2.5 horus
Why are there even so many. I know they're supposed to be the heroes the sugars/candies were named after, but couldn't From have just made interesting minibosses out of each and removed all the other useless minibosses in the game (see: any fucking Drunkard type)
Good fucking lord that fucking Ape already.
go back to the castle I think
Holy shit how many zoomers can't even listen to the first minute of the game.
Thanks fren
Juzou is a GOAT miniboss though, the long arm centipedes or headless, I could do without.
>Isshin, the Sword Saint
>whips out a gun and spear
he's a fucking bitch desu
Have fun realizing that the Ape is only like the 4th most difficult from the obligatory bosses
I just got back to the castle after collecting all of the materials. Should I climb to the top and fight the owl first or should I explore the rest of the castle and then fight owl?
Wait till you get to his next fight where he clones himself. I'm dead serious
nah, i dont have trouble with human enemies. its just the ape that fucks me over, plus which ones are the other harder ones?
It's farmable from the blue samurai. You can get probably 1-2 per minute or more if you sneak kill three samurai near the Antechamber idol over and over.
He's that good he doesnt needddeeededaddaddddddddddddddddddddd
Juzou on his own is fine, but then you run into fucking Tokujiro and Shigekichi.
Is this true? I got homecoming and was pretty disappointed with the scene. Kuro fusing with rice waif was so underwhelming, it basically the same as if I’d skipped the ice tears and just fucked off with her after Kuro died
I kinda lost track of the story since I was so focused on beating the game. What is our relation to Ashina exactly? Why are we fighting them most of the time but then also defending them later? Is our character part of Ashina?
Nice, when can I get Dragon's Blood Droplets?
To be honest, I think it's a shame that it's curable. Would've been cooler if they had doubled down on dragon rot and made it permanent through a run so people could flex how many questlines they've beaten.
Is the design of the drunkards fights meant to better be dodged than parried? I thought I had good stats and I thought I parried Gud. Not really having a problem with them, just wondering if my stats or parries are off.
Why is owl 2 so hard? Demon and sword saint got nothing on this guy. Answer it’s a long fight. Honesty cba
Can you get additional beads and memories in NG+? I want to get more endings but if NG+ is going to be harder withou letting me get stronger too then I’d rather just restart
How are they different? Tokujiro is basically the same guy except his crew are monkeys. In fact, I like Shigekichi more because they actually gave him a unique look.
you get more memories but not beads
>only what I say counts and everyone else are a shit
Always a sure sign of a sturdy moral compass
Same user, I meant to ask about the posture dmg they're inflicting, apparently even though gud parries?
I basically just do hit and run when they’re fucking with drinking/spewing liquid
Ok thanks, Owl 2 is brutalizing me and more attack might help.
>is our character part of Ashina
are you playing this game blindfolded or something? he's the son of the owl and is assigned on guarding an ashina lord, kuro. he's not an ashinan by birth
wolf is a retainer to kuro who is divine heir who doesnt have real power in politics
genishiro/isshin are ashina warlords
Only the beads you might have missed are in NG+
Pretty shura that's the point.
All minibosses get recycled, at least Juzou is the best out of those, with a large moveset and interesting behaviour, Shigekichi is even a full reskin with element swap and additional armor gimmick so while he might have been a bit too much (not as much as the headless or three identical shichimen), he's still fun to fight.
Compare it to something like the various Vile Hand/Longshadow which are literal glorified mooks, I don't really see why of all the minibosses you would pick Juzou.
What is a gun if not a device for throwing tiny swords into your opponent?
beat him on my second try
just keep on his old ass, he regenerates stance like crazy and thrives if you keep your distance
Why do the white monkeys fight the black monkeys?
Jump and double ichimoji.
Sekiro (Wolf) is only loyal to the divine heir aka Kuro. He only works with Ashina in secret due to their similar motives but when the the Interior Ministry attacks Ashina, everything goes to shit and it turns into a three way war.
What's the point of having a subordinate if they can just disobey you on someone else's orders?
It's not about morals, it's about getting the job done. In Owl's case the job is to gain immortality.
AND IT WILL FALL
LIKE A FLOOD OF PAIN
How does lightning reversal work? I just got to lightning genichiro and the tooltip says hit r1 before you hit the ground when you take a lightning hit mid air but when I try that I still just take the hit and smash into the ground.
May not be right, but from what I gather, Kuro is a lord within Ashina, and Wolf is assigned to him as his protector. Wolf has no allegiance to anyone other than Kuro or Owl. Ashina's soldiers attack you because you're a threat to Genichiro's plan to utilize Kuro to help Ashina to survive. Why they try to attack you when you help them against the Ministry, no idea. Wolf doesn't give a fuck about Ashina, and Kuro doesn't care to save Ashina by making everyone immortal monsters. So they try to escape.
Ashina tried to pull a coup against the shogunate and failed, which led the Ministry Interior (read: shogunate) to come down on them HARD, to the point where Genishiro became desperate and was willing to sacrifice Kuro and his dragon blood to do.....something, that would help Ashina win. Wolf is sworn to protect Kuro so naturally your gonna slap some Ashina shit until Kuro himself begs you to find another way
I’m fighting Owl 2 on my first playthrough. I found the Fresh and Dried Fruit, and my clothes have the aroma, but I haven’t traveled to the place Kuro asked me to.
I’m trying to find a way to end immortality without either of us dying. I just want to know if I’ve locked myself out of any endings except the bad one where I betray Kuro.
>see lightning attack coming
>jump and get hit by it
>hit r1 before you hit ground
>Ashina style is all about victory
You have to attack just as the lightning hits you. Timing is similar to a deflect but instead of L1 you hit R1. Remember, it's the lightning and not the actual attack. For example, Gen has a lightning arrow and a lightning slash that both result in bolts after they are fired. You can get hit by the arrow and still reverse the lightning, because they hit you at different times.
If isshin is basically in charge of Ashina and he’s in your side most of the game, why doesn’t he tell his men to fuck off and not kill you? Especially after you whip genishiro and he’s not around to give orders any more
>way to end immortality without either of us dying.
that's only technically possible
Hint: visit rice waifu more often
I wish we got to see more interactions between Kuro and Sekiro. I loved shit like that moment where Kuro has to tell Sekiro that rice is better when cooked because Sekiro is autistic. I like how Kuro will make fun of Sekiro for being shy if he decides not to eat Kuro's riceball in front of him.
Who the fuck drops magnitite ore.
You need to time your jump or else it won't work.
>sacrifice Kuro and his dragon blood to do.....something
didnt you watch the cutscene before fighting genishiro on the tower? he asks kuro to make him immortal. he was trying to make immortal army with centipedes before with the rejuvenating waters shit that dogen did. kuro is just another experiment for him.
Fucking everyone late game
if there wasn't an inventory limit I'd have 500 of the fucking things
what are the top 5 hardest bosses in the game?
The game is completely lacking in more moments like that.
Sekiro pretty much says nothing the entire game which doesn't make him much better than a self-insert protagonist.
A part from the ministry gunmen who drops fulminated mercury?
Ah I just thought I had to be in the air so I jumped early.
Gonna find you, Carlos, and then i will END you
Just got the Fushigi no whatever the mortal blade
Where do I go now
the niggers in lategame poison pool, the droprate isn't great however
Your fortune: ( ´_ゝ`)フーン
By systematically excluding them from any societal gain whatsoever and/or crack?
The gunmen near poison pool idol drop it but you have to have bell demon.
back to kuro obviously, and after that you got two choices: ashina depths or mibu village
5.) Lady Butterfly
4.) Guardian Ape
3.) Owl 2
2.) Isshin
1.) Sword Saint Isshin
Owl 2 has the best ost
>Kuro is a divine person of Ashina who has magic blood.
>Other Ashinans like Genichiro who command armies want this blood so they all turn Ashinan soldiers against the lapdog of Kuro - (You).
I honestly havent got that far, been working my way through Hirata estate
oh wait i forgot demon of hatred exists. I'd probably put him inbetween isshin and sword saint
throw a ceramic shard at her back, lets you backstab her
>but then also defending them later?
what? that never happens, you just fight both
24 hours and I'm fairly certain that I'll never ever git gud at this game. Every single boss I had to rely on guides and cheese strats after giving up after like 50 tries. Owl's coming up pretty soon and I'm fairly certain that it'll be the point where I'm just gonna be done and uninstall. Man, I wish I was good at videogames, because conceptually I really like them.
This is one of the main reasons why I love that the Return ending is the canon one. It gives the possibility that we can see more shit between the two of them, as Kuro teaches Wolf to become less autistic (and also how good he is at sucking the cock of his handsome loyal shinobi).
>Lady Butterfly
Nah, she's tough but Demon blows her out of the water.
Isshin
Sword Saint
Owl 2
Hared
I can't think of another fight that qualifies as "hard".
other way around for me
Isshin was hard but at least you can see his attacks clearly instead of the demon who just a giant flailing bloodborne boss with shit telegraphs
I'm on ng+ and just realized you can reach mibu village without fighting the apes wtf? if you fight guardian ape (which you have to) do headless ape and wifey come back?
I'm 60 hours in and can not beat the final boss to save my life but I still love the game. Sekiro makes it hard to find the fun in the fights but it's there, even in Owl. He's a phenomenal boss fight but he's brutal.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
5. Headless Ape
4. Owl (Father)
3. Isshin Ashina
2. Demon of Hatred
1. Isshin, the Sword Saint
Switch out Lady for Spear-bearer even if he is just a miniboss.
That nigga one-hit kicks you to death if you fuck up deflecting his kick combo just once.
Probably Genichiro thus far? He can fuck you up but he is a fair fight and has telegraphed moves. The second phase is a bit annoying with the lightning but really tense and beating him feels very good.
They will always spawn when you kill Guardian Ape, but you can skip the fight completely if you reached the forest before you kill him.
>the niggers in lategame poison pool
what? does the poison pool change over the course of the game?
Headless Ape is easier than the earlier fight, because it lacks the grab and spaz attacks.
Just keep your distance on headless until you've managed to wither away the wife ape's health.
only a little
Don't the ashina depths just lead to the mibu village anyway? I met O'rin already pre genichiro and she whooped my ass dealing half health with her weird shamisword
That's the exact opposite for me. I could easily read DoH's attacks after fighting him for the third time, so I was confident I would be able to beat him eventually with a good-enough run.
Isshin, on the other hand, took forever for me. I'm not sure if it's because he isn't some huge hulking monster like the Sculptor became, but after his first phase, after any of his initial attacks, it seemed impossible to read what would come next. He has so many different variations that he follows up his attacks with and they all destroy your posture and deal shitloads of damage if they land. The only thing that became safe for me were his jump spear smashes, his thrusts, or lightning attacks. Everything else was a roll of the dice.

The lightning makes Genichiro a better fight because reverting it to him is fun.
Do prosthetic tool upgrades and skill trees come with you to NG+? Items?
Yes. Stock up on snapseed and divine confetti before moving to NG+.
how? I think you can get the mercury from the very start and it stays the same
yes and yes
Some skills like breathing technique and mortal blade strikes (for obvious reasons) gets locked
Did anyone else really enjoy the Divine dragon fight? I thought it was maybe the most fun fight ingame, maybe because I'm a scrub who likes shit easy.
Yes, everything except story items like snake viscera or mortal blade.
>DEMONIO DE AMERICANO
dios mio...
is it the one in Mibu? dodge through her attacks and do a charged attack to chip away at her health. specifically you can bait her into doing the run attack by running far away (she sticks her arm out, runs at you, and slashes once, every time). Just dodge through her attack and hit her once.
Where's the best place to grind skill xp and money?
I always lose all of it between bosses by dying a lot
>Did anyone else really enjoy the Divine dragon fight?
yes, but not because of the gameplay. I absolutely LOVE the aesthetic and visuals of the fight and the music. it's so beautiful
But you did defeat him on hard mode (bell curse)? Otherwise you didn't really beat him.
How about puppeteer?
It would let you kill serpent early, but it doesn't seem that critical.
the tent falls over and instead of riflemen you just have 3 of these cannon shotgun guys
fountainhead palace, by the broken bridge. turn around and use sabimaru and bloodsmoke to trivialize the enemies
word on the street is bell demon only affects non-boss enemies, while kuro charm affects everyone
yeah, all ninjutsu skills carry over
And no, the serpent doesn't spawn until a certain story point
huh, I had no idea. that's cool, maybe I should quickly comb over ashina next time the war is ongoing
Oh... I was half-expecting to kill the serpent before he breaks the bridge.
Are upgrade mat drops tied with progression? Hirata Estate has no scrap or gunpowder but suddenly enemies start dropping it after Genichiro.
Fuck this game is much longer than people said it would be
At this point I just want it to be over
How in the actual goddamn do I beat the centipede giraffe asshole?
They aren't any different, that's the problem.
OHNONONONOONNONO ITS LITERALLY THE EASIEST BOSS IN THE GAME. YOU MIGHT AS WELL UNINSTALL THE GAME RIGHT NOW
Literally spam L1.
Deflect and punish his sweep by goombaing his ass
I beat him first try in second doing that shit
because it's a memory of the past? are you retarded?
sekiro explicitly states his memory of the events are fuzzy, so there's really no way to tell what part of it is real and what part is the sculptor idol fuckery.
Am I being kidded or did people actually have trouble with the folding screen monkeys?
There's this thing called parrying, retard.
He only has two moves. Deflect everything until the perilous sweep, which you jump over. Eat the candy that gives you more posture first if need be.
Get some distance and hold block to regain posture if at all possible. The biggest problem is that the room is so fucking tiny you can never get the distance required to do just that.
What does the special attack kanji mean?
Not really. The three monkeys the monk tells you about are easy once you understand the parts of the terrain that you utilize to kill them. The one that stumped everyone was the invisible fucker that starts off behind you, because it's kinda hard to tell that he would be right fucking there from the beginning.
Fuck you
Fuck you fuck you fuck you
It means you stand still and gain a health buff. Go ahead, try it.
I literally chased 3 of them down and killed the purple monkey by opening the door my first time through.
I only realized afterwards that I was probably supposed to do it another way. ah well, took surprisingly little time.
[Monk chanting intensifies]
You can sneak up on them by grappling the leftmost grapple spot, Bloodsmoke the first backstab, then backstab the other.
Where is the best grinding spot for fulminated mercury?
it's the kanji for danger and it means it's an unblockable attack
some of them can still be deflected
>Puppeteer Ninjutsu
This is the closest we will ever get to necromancy in a From game
1 kinda had a spell like that but it lasted like 1 nanosecond
How the fuck do you beat the gun mini-boss on the way to the gun fort.
Or rather I should ask how do you beat that grab thing he has? You can't dodge left or right because he just snaps to you, you can't jump and its a grab so I dont think you can block/reflect it.
Blast them with your fire vent
What was the most kino moment in the story?
My contenders are:
>divine dragon
>"Killed by my own son...this feeling isn't entirely unpleasant..."
>"A code is to be determined by the individual, that is what I've decided."
>"May you live on and understand what it means to be human."
So i just beat Gyoubu on his horse but I still can't kill Juuzou, any tips?
>he
that's a woman my man
also it's easy enough to avoid by jumping either left or right
dodge/jump backwards
you can deflect it if you time it right
its a girl actually
I thought chasing those shits down was the intended way. I opened the door just out of curiosity but if it helped in any way then that puzzle went over my head.
I bet that Alpha testers just didn't get the fight, because the encounter seems too easy to do the unintended way
Is Kuro secretly a girl? Why did he ask Wolf to close his eyes when he took off his shirt?
>I thought chasing those shits down was the intended way
That's what I did too, wew
this is my headcanon as well
The FAT unga bunga piece of shit are starting to get annoying, especially when there's 2 of them. How do you deal with them? I try to side step but the side step is a suicide button in this game so instead block, but blocking such huge weapons doesn't feel right
yeah, the only time the Owl is entirely upset that you kill him is when you stab him in the back, which he himself did to you
Stealth and kill as much as you can
Then run away
When he loses aggro backstab then go 2v1 him
He's fat, it's basically 1v5 anyway
That feeling when I literally defeated the Demon of Hatred at full health, with no heals, on the third try. Then Genichiro without ever even being hit.
And yet Isshin kicks my shit in every time.
Is this the late game casual filter?
he don't give out no information
Only Isshin and Kuro's riceballs. The rest of the characters are way too underdeveloped to be interesting.
I honestly believe that Kuro and Rice loli could possibly be the baddies of the possible DLC if it ever comes out due to Sekiro being an unreliable narrator. The only things we actually know for sure in the game that aren't memories (that are proven to be corrupted memories due to Owl2) all point to everyone keeping massive secrets from Sekiro. Even the eavesdrop scenarios leave a lot to be desired and some of those eavesdrops even have mumbled words in very very important places and the way Owl treats you in the flashback when you are fighting him. He basically calls you an abomination and that he needs to end you before things get out of hand. There is a reason Emma, the sculptor, and Kuro keep things from you and their answers are not satisfactory enough for me. This is just a theory I'm working on though. I need more evidence to back it up. Anyone have anything that disproves this theory?
I did it, I beat sword saint. I started the third phase with one pellet and zero gourds and I somehow held on. I thank the fire umbrella's protection and special projected-force chop move for pulling me through
What always got me the most was that lunging double slash he did after his jumping spear chop attack. He would like teleport onto you no matter how fast you were running away
if you deflect their big windup attack they get stunned for a long time and take a ton of posture damage
axe prosthetic also works on shield fatties
Why is the OST kind of unremarkable? Divine Dragon is the only theme I really like
You need to learn to block everything in this game. Dodge is only there for specific moments, or for closing your distance to the enemy. Two of them are still hard to manage no matter what you do, so try to take them one at a time.
Because the thought of seeing his Lord bleed doesn't exactly blend well with Sekiro's autismal protective needs.
How can I fight the undead thing in the Ashina cave and how do I get rid of dragonrot?
You're pretty much supposed to beat genichiro without getting hit
And you're probably playing this game like souls if you beat DoH that easily. Isshin will tear you a new asshole if you play like souls
I beat isshin easily and I'm still on demon
I get how the genichiro fight works but it seems like it’s a roll of the dice whether he’ll fuck me in the ass when my posture is broken or give me a moment to breath. I’ve been trying for hours.
Divine Abduction was pretty much made for them. If you don't have that, just run past if possible. They're not really worth the effort.
Thanks
>shield fatties
Oh my god
He has two variations for the spear slam. One in which he slashes at you with a fixed direction that's easy to punish him for. The other is a slashed move that tracks you. So if you're running in a circle away from him, he's going to catch you. You need to run in one direction away from him to get as much distance as possible.
>can't even beat the spear wielding miniboss in the flashback area
Good thing I pirated this cuz I'm getting too old for this shit. Feels bad man my reaction time is shit. Guess I'll watch a LP or something.
1.Kill the fags in his arena then run off.
2. Sneak behind Juzou to get one health bar off.
3. Run to the blue samurai cuck and have him tank while you pound Juzou's ass.
Demon of Hatred for gameplay and Monk for best theme
Meme choice: four kangz
>beat the game 4 times already
>love boss fights but dont want to go through the slog of the actual levels
damn
I thought the exact same shit but I persevered until the game clicked and I'm currently on my third playthrough with all the extra difficulty piled on.
spear boss is there to teach you mikiri counter, it really should be an innate skill
Juuzou has a rather large moveset for a miniboss, in fact he's probably the most fleshed out of the bunch.
His sword swipes can be deflected easily but mind that he will try to counter you with more swings if you deflect him and he is also pretty good at deflecting you.
His two vertical slashes are both easy to deflect and dodge and leave him wide open to HP damage.
He can do a headbutt into vertical slash.
His one handed Tachiai can sometimes rarely have a second follow up
His Shiko stomp has two hurtboxes, one for the rising leg and one for the falling leg.
His swipe is very similar to that of Ashina generals, only a bit faster and with more range.
His grab into Shiko stomp is easy to avoid but mind that it has a deceptively long frontal range despite the poor tracking, so avoid it by jumping to the side, not backwards.
His poison sip leaves him wide open to a lot of attacks.
He can spread his poison carpet twice, he can also use his poison carpet as a follow up to his tachiai charge iirc.
I genuinely love all the levels in this game but the fucking area before the Guardian Monkey is such a fucking garbage slog. Too much verticality that doesn't really do anything, poisonous slog and the fucking monkeys being harmless but slippery anuses
Divine Trap and Divine Loli are pure and love Wolf, fuck you. There's your disproof, faggot.
you can run through the levels pretty fucking fast
She brushes my foot as a jump back and im sucked in her grab. I cant go left or right either because she just snaps to the side instantly.
Sound off
My highlights are Demon of Hatred and Gentle Blade, everything else is serviceable, but doesn't stand out
Overall, disappointing after DS3 unfortunately
just skip everything
learn bull skip
learn to skip gun fort with poison suicide
here ya go, sub 2 hour casual speedrun
I had the same feelings around that time. I bought the game so the buyers remorse kept me playing and eventually I think on genishiro I got a sudden epiphany and understood the game mechanics.
The Guardian Ape fight is pure kino.
No dialogue, no cutscenes, the drama all plays out through the gameplay. It's peak From.
No you're not.
i just want kuro and wolf to live happily together, away from all the bullshit. they deserve it.
>Not an argument
>Gentle Blade
oh yeah, that one is also good
I'm currently at Ashina Castle and I don't know where to go. I've beaten Lady Butterfly, reached a dead end by the serpent shrine canon, and all I've got left is the Ashina reservoir which has two mini-bosses which kicked my ass. There's a door I can't open at the castle (says it opens from the other side) and I don't how to get there.
Any tips?
fuck off the big statue valley is one of the BEST areas because not only are there a ton of nooks and crannies to explore, but if you're in a hurry you can rush through it via statue hopping in less than 30 seconds.
>And you're probably playing this game like souls
I guess I might not be playing correctly, but I really don't think I am playing it like Souls.
Thank god I finally got the 100% achievement on NG+++, I couldn't bear the game anymore
that's a lot of reaching. you should work for game theory. they specialize in nonsense theories too.
Why is my dick hard?
some songs were pretty bad IMO. Like listen to this, it sounds like an orchestrated version of some generic SNES game's music
youtube.com
if you are not in front of him he won't do the double slash as well. The best thing to do when he does the spear slams is to dodge behind him and wait a split second to see if you should either punish him, or parry his continued combo as he spins around to face you. Usually he is doing those spear slams and chaser attacks when I am trying to make some distance so I can heal though
head to the roofs at castle
i love the fat guys they're fun fights
So Sekiro could tell how skilled Emma was with the blade.
But could he tell how much of a sex freak she was?
From the Antechamber idol, go to the room with the 2 sitting Samurai and look up to grapple.
You need to enter ashina castle from the rooftops, not from the door at the top of the long flight of stairs.
Stealth and kill every one of the other guys first and make sure no one goes to fight the guy at the side, then get a deathblow on Juzou himself and use the other guy to distract him for a fuckton of free hits.
It takes a while to set up right, but it was easy enough for me to beat him on my second try.
How is it reaching exactly?Wolf is by definition an unreliable narrator and we do not know if any of his memories are actually real, even Owl 2. Though i doubt that one if fake because of how Emma and Sculptor try to hide it for you. Also, you couldn't disprove my theory.
You can finish Ashina Castle, you just need to scale the rooftops. Honestly dude, how many gates/doors have you opened in this game so far? In almost all cases they're shut and you enter areas via hook. That's a clue.
There's a whole new area behind the purple edgelord in the Resevoir. You may as well knuckle down and learn how to fight him, because oh boy you're going to need to learn everything that guy does.
There's also another area through the Abandoned Dungeon.
Too much animation work
sekiro is an autistic virgin
Endgame Ashina outskirts, how do you get to the 'Outskirts wall-Gate Path ??
>we don't know everything
>therefore they must be evil
embarrassing
Never mind, cheesed her out with the double Ichimonji.
You ever win and feel like you won in a really dishonest way? I never learned how to deal with her grab.
dive
You can't. There are 3 idols that are not available during late-game.
Genichiro 1 seems like the final tutorial boss. Eventually I got a feel for it and the only "hard" part was lightning but then I just played keep away and saw that most of his attacks were meh and you had to purposely get hit by his lightning to redirect it
Was really fun though
How the fuck do I beat Owl? Genichiro and Guardian Ape walled me pretty hard earlier, but this asshole is another level. I can't even get to the second phase.
what part is there water at the outskirts?
I thought you were supposed to throw the lightning as you landed like you normally fucking do throughout the game, and died a few times because the lightning kept hitting the tree when I fell down.
It took me some time to realize I was supposed to just fucking throw it right away. Is this poor design or am I retarded?
I FUCKING DID IT!!
Because basing a theory that everyone is evil on not knowing every single fact in the story is retarded.
It's just a theory. A game theory. Aaaaaaaand that is a triggered waifufag.
What's the "canon" path? I'm currently on my second playthrough but I stopped playing cause I can't decide if I should go Senpou Temple or Bottomless Hole/Sunken Valley
I had already entered the castle.
Thanks!
when should I fight the Drunkard? I just beat the Ashina elite by rushing him hard and I'm thinking about going back to the past rather than trying to beat the bow and arrow guy cause he's kicking my dick.
Punish his jump slam move. Chip off enough health to make his posture fucked and easily breakable.
How do I get to the area where there's a big ayy lmao in the Fountianhead palace?
the only one I hated was the underwater one in Fountainhead area.
>put wonky, half-assed underwater swimming mechanics in game
>put underwater bosses
what were they thinking?
never mind me, I thought you wanted to get to reservoir. No, the other guy is right. There is no way to get to the other idols.
>ash
>firecrackers
>0 emblems
*dabs on you*
this guy was arrested for pedophilia btw
Look at this weeb
I assume Fromsoft are going to be doing some DLC? I'm only just past butterfly, but interested
Not until the end
What happens if you refuse to finish Isshin?
>firecrackers
right when you go out the door where little ayys are eating people, look to the right and grapple up and then tree swing
...
Why do you say that Sekiro being an unreliable narrator has anything to do with Rice Loli/Kuro? The events that involve those two aren't memories. You witness them yourself.
Lure one of them over with ceramics and grab him behind the corner.
Go underwater past the carp. The path there is past the underwater area.
>genijobber
>issin defeated at prime
>dying nation
>ashina victory
In the castle?
I cheesed him by always keeping distance to bait the double shuriken + overhead attack, which you can just backpedal after blocking the shuriken, then run in and hit him once. He does it less in the final phase it feels like, and the poison becomes a problem but I pulled through just barely.
patetic weeb
>0 gourds
>no res nodes
well done, well done
HOWEVER
First phase:
Firecracker
deflect combo then dodge overhead slam
Whenever perilous attack come up, it’s a grab, jump ground grab and spam sidestep for air grab
R1 when you have opening
Remember, around half hp, he start doing slam straight down after being firecracka, so circle around him before attacking
Phase 2
Easy parry
Whenever he jump, it’s a sweep perilous so just jump.
If he does the slow ass overhead slam, deflect then do spear pull om the neck stump for huge damage
Back dash the hell away from scream, have pacificing agent ready because he’s a dick a scream back to back
Phase 2 is super easy
delete this
could try using the umbrella if you're having trouble with the scream
ceramic shards are useless
Nope
