The site isn't even created as a discussion forum it's just an internet content aggregator so the comments only exist for people to farm upvotes by posting witty zingers.

Yea Forums has a better discussion layout but is shit for a different reason, which is that total anonymity means there is no accountability at all. No one has any kind of reputation or identity so there is no need to make coherent posts or back up your arguments, you can just shitpost mindlessly and get off scot free, which is exactly what people do. You can be purposefully antagonistic, stir up shit for no reason, derail discussion, pretend to be other people, and then just vanish into the wind and no one will ever know it was you. Getting someone to engage you in actual honest discussion here is a rare event.

I don't like the layout of the site at all, it all just feels disjointed and weird.
Because of the up/downvote system, it's largely very hugbox-y as people want to avoid offending people and getting downvotes.
This also happens because of shitty moderators who ban people for sharing negative/unpopular opinions despite them being relevant to the conversation.
They still rely heavily on impact font memes. Not that we're much better with the fucking wojak infestation but it's still a factor.
And overall there's just more people, which means more normies, which means lower post quality.

I honestly can't even say this website is funny anymore, almost everyone is just a pure shitposter whose only life goal is to make everyone else as miserable as they are.
