What is the Divine Dragon even? A God?
Just like Sekiro you guys have to be persistent and lucky, you can't rush the bosses posture or his health, you must slowly work at them
what am i doing wrong with the guardian ape overhead grab?, i dodge everytime and still gets me for some reason, whats the exact timing for it?, i dont really want to run around it if possible
Rolled 6 (1d6)
1-2 for Shura
3-4 for Purification
5-6 for Return
It's a garbage move with very arbitrary solution: You simply need to run past him when he does it. No dodge, no jump. Just run past him.
a better question is why is it missing its left arm?
a LOT of importance seems to be placed in sekiro on missing left arms. sekiro himself lost it, the sculptor lost it, now the dragon lost it too.
From a human point of view? Probably but the Divine Dragon seems to be just a divine animal that came from the west and decided to make a pact with a human of Ashina so he could start living in Japan. But it's presence brought nothing more than trouble so they are trying to get it to return. My guess is the dragon escaped China due a massive upheaval in the divine realm with demons/you name it having chased it away. In Sekiro 2 you will most likely solve the problem so all the gods that escaped their homeland can return and be safe or some shit like that.
Ogre should have taught you that Sekiro's grab hitboxes are royally fucked. Like other user said, run and try to get in position to punish the miss.
I think I had more luck jumping diagonally away than using the dodge button too.
just run directly away from him and he'll miss it every time.
>two guardian apes at the same time
Is this the lowest point of the game? Please help.
This is interesting as fuck. Are there more beings from other myths in Sekiro?
thanks user will try that, i dont think i have ever gotten it right a single time and its driving me nuts, tried dodging at the last time, as soon as the kanji appeared, somewhere in the middle and fucker still grabbed me for the one shot
some user on other thread ws suggesting to double dodge instead to either side, just want to get over with this fight at this point :(
It's way easier than the solo ape. Just focus on killing the brown ape first. If you've defeated Guardian Ape, this should be a breeze.
>29k
I refuse to believe that was legitimate.
Rice girl ending is the true ending right?
It's the most anti-fun boss fight in the game. I was close to dropping the game at that point but it gets much better after. Then you go back to boss fights that make sense and are more parry-based and not so much arbitrary dodge shit that you have to trial and error your way through.
nope.
the lowest point of the game is lone shadow longswordsman AND lone shadow vilehand both at once.
oh and the vilehand has 2 health bars too.
next runner up is when you face 7 spears and his odachi wielding general friend, but you can cheese that by popping a giichin's and puppeteering the odachi guy.
Shura/Ashura is brought up in the game and candy is named after Buddhist Gods as well.
You're dodging wrong. Dodge out to the left, don't jump, don't dodge back. Out, to the left, the grab box is his left hand.
You can puppeteer that lone longswordsman too. You just need to stop entering the building from the window.
ANONS...
I CAN'T...
BEAT THIS...
BOSS.....
>the lowest point of the game is lone shadow longswordsman AND lone shadow vilehand both at once.
You're supposed to backstab the purple ninja and Puppeteer him user.
>puppeteering the odachi guy
WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?
GOD DAMMIT
Thanks, anons. I'll try.
I felt like a genius doing this. But apparently it's the common strat for this fight.
Oh well.
Hardest boss in the game. I've been having nightmares about it.
it'd be better if you said "Divine Heir? in MY vagina?"
because divine child doesnt have centipedes.
It was kind of scary because I thought a giant monkey would pop out any second.
Given the missing left arm, I'd guess its the OG Shura
I don't even remember last time I saw "X? in my Y?" macro. Thanks, user.
It's arm is missing because someone cut off the branch. It's literally a tree. You have its arm in your inventory.
>stuck on Genichiro
What's the deal with him?
...I literally never even thought of that.
Divine Dragon is the Sakura tree that Owl cut the branch from, hence the missing arm. Huh.
Does anyone know if you can fight owl 2nd time and still do the the ending with the tears
Not him but fuck this is probably correct. I assumed it was missing the arm due to being a manifestation of its opponent or some esoteric bullshit. It was missing an arm because its challenger was or something. Good point.
Why does it say thread deleted?
You just parry his shit. Relentless assault. Don't give him space.
ah fuck I forgot about that bit, I killed those tree dragons instantly
Use mikiri, use jump kick counter, use lightning reversal, hit your fucking deflects.
Genichiro is a great fight. Even one of the easier ones given how he only has 3 attack chains and he doesn't do any mix-ups.
3 healthbars of hell.
If it's any consolation, he's nothing compared to what you'll face down the road.
>Sekiro threads haven't succumbed to the Aprilrot
Thank Ashina you guys are alright and these threads are still comfy. Anyway I beat Genichiro this afternoon and got Kuro back, now what? It's almost 3AM here so I'm not about to fight a boss until dawn, but if I need to talk to someone or something I can do that, plus I want to upgrade a prosthetic so I'm probably gonna grind $ for a bit.
What am I supposed to give rice loli after she's sick and can't give me rice?
Shhh don’t let Vaati hear you.
Probably glitchy because the incompetent Yea Forums admins are fucking with the system for the holiday gimmick
Deflect and parry that nigga.
Shoot that lightning right back at him.
Why don't you ask her and find out you dumbass?
Please don't let this post alarm you. Keep discuss the Sekiro lore. Vaati doesn't even browse this board.
I can't do anything. My only option is literally nothing. I think I'm at the end of the line, because I've given Kuro the rice, talked to her about and beaten the divine dragon
The interior ministry lone shadows also fight without using their left arm.
Praying strikes - exorcism is really useful. It's like R1 strikes that are faster than your sword but it damages the posture bar more than the HP bar. You can add little delays between each strike, or quickly go back to dodging / parrying / swinging and just mix in the punches in between
Yeah you're fucked, you lock yourself out of her ending if you haven't done everything before the Divine Dragon.
Is Owl 2 really supposed to be such a damage sponge? I have 10 attack and while I’ve gotten his pattern down somewhat, it’s difficult keeping up perfect play for so long.
Who is the Pontiff Sulyvahn of Sekiro? Meaning irredeemable dipshit that caused all the bad shit that happened.
Don't be a little bitch. Be aggressive.
Owl
Probably Owl.
fug
I think they use their left arm for their poison strike attack thing.
I think I had 11 or 12 at that point. You did do a rematch with an ape, right?
Yes.
For most people, Owl.
But I personally feel that Genichiro is the one who really started all this shit in motion.
Watch how speedrunners do it to get an idea of what you have to do .
>we must kidnap the divine heir to save our clan!
>some immortal autist wipes out your entire clan to get him back
Perhaps they should have tried to coerce Wolf to their side with Kuro as a bargaining chip
There was another warrior before you going for the Immortal Severance.
And for what we know it's likely she succeeded.
I just beat him today after drunkenly fighting him for an hour last night, here's how I did it
>bait his jump slash into thrust, mikiri it
>in phase 2 that thrust becomes a sweep, curbstomp him
>parry everything, in particular he has a combo string with like 8 hits, parry and you'll deathblow him like a grunt
>watch out for his grab, dodge works better than jump
>way of Tomoe is a joke, just keep parrying and use Lightning Reversal (it's easy, just pretend you're doing a sweep counter but you press attack instead of 2nd jump)
Also don't stress items or combat skills, just practice the fundamentals because that's what this fight is for.
Mistakes were made.
The dragon or whoever told him about this new hip travel destination called "Japan".
This games, writing sucks! Like, imagine if two gay gus, like, sucked each others dicks. That would be so wild! But not in a dergatrory way
>she
no
tomoe failed.
what does the hud symbol of the guy kneeling and the guy standing mean? why does it turn red sometimes?
I hated fighting him and don’t want to go through it again.
The plot is garbage .
I did it, user. Focusing on the brown ape was much better,
its only his headless form, and his wife. his wife is easy though, literally 2 firecrackers and a few hits and she'll have maxed her posture guage.
as for ape, divine confetti and jumping when he does his fucking weird slither attack.
This fucker is simultaneously one of the most frustrating and satisfying fights in the game that really forced me to git gud. 10/10 would play an Isshin focused prequel.
Who was she rooting for when you fought Genichiro?
Best human fight to be honest.
Shame the spear nerfed him somewhat if you got the pattern down.
kino fight
If it took me BL200+ to beat BB, is Sekiro going to wreck my shit?
>Represent the Everblossom
>Your dad cut off its branch
>only headless form
That’s much better. His spastic phase 1 was really annoying even with crackers.
>Needing to be anything over 70
What the fuck
in some ways its more bullshit, but in others it's a lot more bearable since you are almost always able to check your enemy.
for example, against Ludwig you are constantly dodging and running like a bitch, but in Sekiro yüou can almost always parry bosses
honestly up there with one of the best final bosses I've ever fought.
>OH HOW MY BLOOD BOILS
>FACE ME, SEKIRO
>DO IT!
Are you gud at MGR or Ninja Gaiden? If not don't get this, it's not 'strafe guy and hit his ass' Soulsborne combat, it's actually a lot more like Punch Out or Infinity Blade, particularly the latter
I like Souls style games but I'm pretty bad at them.
I felt like they unceremoniously killed Isshin off at the end solely for the O my prime grandad asspull from Genichiro.
His death also triggers the invasion.
Is Fountainhead Palace in the same realm of existence as the rest of the game, or does the shimenawa man take you to "heaven"?
If it's real, then in turn, where does the Divine Dragon reside?
Why does it grow from a tree?
Why is it missing an arm?
Who are the small coughing dragon-tree-people-things?
Why did nobles turn into fish people?
Is it because of the Fountainhead waters?
How are they different from Rejuvenating waters?
Where do the centipedes come in?
How did the Senpou head priest die if he had centipede AIDS?
Is the Rice Loli preggo in the Homecoming ending?
Who was Dousaku?
So what happened to the second mortal blade after sword saint was beaten?
How does Sekiro know about Emma’s fighting skills if he never even saw her fight?
I'm below average, and I didn't have a point over 70. You literally have to be pure liquefied shit to not be able to beat the game until BL200
It's okay, not a big deal, it's just a game
how do you kill fucking headless
Always shoot the darkie first. GG
Ashina was doomed to fail in one way or another.
That was the last boss fight for me before the final one, so unfortunately I was way overpowered at that point.
You missed a lot of his characterization. Isshin wanted to die fighting, but in a way he saw himself as cursed, because he was just too damn good. Nobody could handle him.
Then, he gets old as fuck, and along comes Sekiro, finally a man that could match up to him. Except, he's too old now, he can't cut it anymore. So he commits suicide (note the Harakiri scar on his stomach in the final boss fight), and Genichiro brings him back at his phyiscal peak, where he gets his wish to die fighting.
>accidentally killed the invisi monkey fighting the phantom ones
so much for that puzzle.
>Is Fountainhead Palace in the same realm of existence as the rest of the game, or does the shimenawa man take you to "heaven"?
real world
>If it's real, then in turn, where does the Divine Dragon reside?
Divine realm, you teleport there by praying
>Why is it missing an arm?
Because Owl cut it off
>Why did nobles turn into fish people?
Because Miyazaki ran out of ideas
Master Shinobi swordsmen know that shit from a glance man, haven't you ever seen anime?
I want a DLC that lets me play Gyoubu and hold the Gate against increasingly strong waves of Enemies.
bonus points for coop with seven spears and the Atomic Samurai from the Ashina Dojo
What was Kotaros father doing in the Abandoned Dungeon? Seems like the Senpou temple monks send him there as punishment but the message he leaves makes it seem like he had some goal for being there.
that would actually be pretty kino.
bonus points if theres an option to shout
MY NAME
IS GYOUBU
ONIWA
>Gyoubu second phase wasn't him getting down from his horse to fuck your shit up seven spear style
What a shame.
I gave Kuro the rice but now rice loli won't give me any more rice and I can't do shit.
>seven spear style
fuck
no.
hes fun enough as is on his horse. seven horse is the definition of anti fun.
I met that ninja with one arm, but I attacked him because I realized too late I could talk to him. Did I fuck up?
So in the end did Ashina fall?
Then this guy comes and takes 0 hit 0 damage
youtu.be
Jeez i wish i was this Good
>I'm below average, and I didn't have a point over 70
Okay well I'm fucking awful then.
He was waiting specifically to kick YOUR ass anyway. If you talk to him he just realizes this and attacks you immediately.
He was trying to reach the Fountainhead Palace by going through the Abandoned Dungeon, his note says so. But he couldn't figure out the """puzzle""" to throw oneself. Why he was trying to get to the Fountainhead Palace that I don't know.
>Atomic Samurai
do you mean Ashina Elite Jinsuke Saze? Favorite miniboss so far hands down, he helped me realize that these enemies actually have Combat Skills like the Ashina Cross, he really helped me learn parry timing because Cross is so do-or-die
>Ashina Depths
>Mibu Village
yo Genichiro, no wonder the Interior Ministry is on your ass with those health and safety violations.
Oh, cool.
So I'm locked out of the good ending if I beat the Divine Dragon before giving Kuro rice right?
How do you not get to at least BL90 by the end of the game? You'd have to lose a fuckton of echoes on the way there.
What was the most kino fight?
What was the best fight?
I'd probably say Guardian Ape is easily the best fight in even all of souls/bb. It's really fucking good.
I have killed most of the bosses in NG+ and NG++ in one or two tries, but I have died to the fucking purple ninjas dozens of times, fuck these guys seriously.
You need to fulfill the conditions for Return before Dragon, yes
Conditions for Purification can be done at any point before the final boss.
yeah, He spammed me with his lightning fast cross slash, but instead of turning back time to overcome my boomer reflexes I figured out you can just safely and comfortably dodge to his left with a generous window to punish him.
Sword Saint, Divine Dragon (but that one was more like interactive cutscene)
Sword Saint hands down.
dodging is shit jumping is better and has i-frames
Ape is good but he would have fit in well in a souls game too. Owl probably gets my nod as best fight, it's shinobi vs shinobi using a bunch of tools and tricks to slice each other up and really get into the swordfighting mechanics.
Final Isshin is just pure kino.
Don't lock on to ogre and ape.
The REAL Atomic Samurai is the old man Isshin with his One Mind art.
Or you can just, you know, use the umbrella for ezmode parrying.
should have been a branchjng fight with seperate healthbars depending on who you hit
>kill Onikage
now you have to fight a berserking Gyoubu on foot
>kill Gyoubu
now you have to ight a stampeding horse you can't grapple on anymore
Why would you want a boss to become weaker in the second phase?
>most kino
Emma
>best
Either Genichiro or Sword saint.
I did this 3 times now and everytime it was so piss easy, I just kill 1 or 2 by "accident" and the rest is piss easy anyway.
Go far left hall, open door. Ring bell get on highest roof look for fire feet monkey, kill far left monkey that is now stunned, go middle pagoda grapple up under the roof kill monkey ect.
You only need to hit them once and you got them so sprint R1 and you can literally get 2 on the branch at the beginning if you are lucky. How do people have problems with this ?
Yeah I'm going to take notes from this
sure but it wouldn't be proper to send old man Isshin out to defend the Gate
him and Genichiro could become unlockable at wave 100 and 200 or something
Emma the jobber blade.
>sure but it wouldn't be proper to send old man Isshin out to defend the Gate
Except he does that on his own already.
Not him but I had a lot of fun fighting 7AS, my first time fighting Yamauchi I mikiri'd him 4 times in a row before I even realized what was going on
I'll admit this is my first true FromSoft game so I don't have Souls instincts, but I DO have CUHRAZAY reflexes so deflecting is a godsend to me, if I could've deathblow'd those Black Knights I would've actually beaten DaS years ago.
>Genichiro Tomoe kills me with the mortal blade move
>I respawn anyway
lmao chinese knockoffs cant sever muh swagger
wait a second, thats him?
Well his Tengu version would be cool I guess
also he's not defending the gate, he's hunting s*npou rats and m*nistry pigdogs stalking around his castle
Oh fuck I know this one from webms, thanks for clarifying which Skill I want.
>wait a second, thats him?
>just spent an hour and a half beating ape
>not even 30 minutes later have to fight two of them at once
This game just keeps getting worse
Grinding out a few attack points won't do me much good will it?
I'm at Attack 10 for Geni/Saint and they take an eternity to whittle the Posture down. Will 12 or 13 Attack make a noticeable difference?
Man I fought Owl (father) and there's so many unique things about him that I finally realized being able to fight him again. Usually you can easily jump kick enemies who sweep attack you but Owl is so sick that he tries to prevent you from being able to jump on his head that he does a big slide while doing his sweep. If you just jump, he ends up behind you and to the side so you can't fully punish but if you input left on the stick and jump you will be right on top of him. So instead of other bosses where the jump kick is free with one input, Owl makes you do two
Another thing, that kick his does when he's about to use your body as a wall to backflip and make distance? If you step dodge it instead of deflecting, he has so much recovery frames that you can get two hits on him with his guard down. There's even the firecrackers he uses in the middle of his combo in phase two (he does 3-4 hits of side slices, fire crackers and then does another big finisher), if you step dodge the fire crackers and jump into the smoke you can get two free hits in while he is recovering.
There's so much cool shit in the Owl fight, down to his own tech. When he charges his standing overhead, if you make an input too early he reads it and does a mixup. Instead of doing that overhead that you want because its easy to punish, he will do a horizontal sweep if you step dodge to early. I wish I could be arsed to record but I hate recoded for Webm's but what a great boss
It's exclusive to Shura ending. But you keep it on subsequent playthroughs.
You learn a unique combat art from either final boss.
You can see the mask and cloak in his room
From what I can tell attack points really help to build up posture damage. Not so much vitality damage.
At the start of NG++ it takes like 5 sword hits to posture break a basic guard. But as you get more attack power it goes down to 3 or 2.
I havent gotten past Genichiro yet, but the Tengu of Ashina is my favourite NPC so far.
>Divine Dragon
Unquestionably the best puzzle boss of the series. I loved it.
Yeah I didn't connect the dots until I got here, I know Isshin does the SEKIROOO thing from these threads, but then I met Tengu and he gave me my name so it all fell in place.
You don't even have to, he's the only one who calls you Sekiro
i really wish i beating the game on all 4 endings unlocked a boss rush mode, or maybe one where you can just spawn a boss in to fight
Sekiro does its gimmicks right.
Only took them six games to get it.
Monkey trouble was better puzzle fight to be honest.
Divine dragon is more like QTE.
the whole point of the divine dragon fight was to be a big QTE to look badass in.
So Okami = wolf, then how the fuck does Sekiro = one-armed wolf?
The only "puzzle" part of the fight was the invisible monkey. If you there was a puzzle component to getting the rest, they made chasing them down too easy. I killed them all in 5 minutes.
So instead of other bosses where the jump kick is free with one input, Owl makes you do two
Or you can just hit him with R1 to interrupt his sweep and do free vitality+posture damage on him. Unlike most perilous attacks, his sweep has no superarmor.
>if you step dodge the fire crackers and jump into the smoke you can get two free hits in while he is recovering.
That's just common sense - don't deflect attacks that won't help you build posture damage on the enemy and just dodge-attack through them.
>I wish I could be arsed to record
Don't bother. Those are some really basic observations that should be immediately obvious to anyone fighting the boss.
>Is Fountainhead Palace in the same realm of existence as the rest of the game, or does the shimenawa man take you to "heaven"?
I'm not really sure, it's weird as fuck. If you read the description of Floating Cloud Passage it says Tomoe descended into Ashina by using the Floating Cloud Passage with sounds more something akin to a portal or some shit. There'd be no reason for the incense ritual if all you could do was climb some mountains.
I think Sekiro is a shortened nickname and the full words for 'one armed wolf' would be something like 'Sekirokami'
Ro also means Wolf
>okami means wolf
>ro also means wolf
this is why japanese is objectively a shit language and why english is the superior master race language of all the world.
a wolf is a fucking wolf.
Yeah but his back jump keep fucking me up
I literally got 200 IQ monkey first going in blind.
The OOK OOK EEK was very fucking obvious.
I don't know but I'm doing it regardless since I'm practicing lightning counters and fighting against sweeping spears in fountainhead village so might as well use the points
Kanji, that's how.
Kun and On readings. Every kanji has like half a dozen way to pronounce it at the very least.
Sweet, I'm definitely going to enjoy NG+
This is half the reason I want to do NG+, Genichiro was some of the most fun I've had playing vidya since I beat Cuphead
thats fucking hilarious if true but i notice the symbols are slightly squished and not exactly the same
>the symbols are slightly squished
Makes no difference. It's just because they're parts of a single kanji.
It's actually the same component.
It also means rape.
I went out of my way to chase the one up into the dark area and the other into the waterfall room just to be a good sport. Nothing different happens whatsoever, you just stealthkill the monkey.
姦 is also the kanji for rape
It's way better than Western shit. You can actually read kanji without knowing their pronunciation
disliked
>just beat corrupted monk and shichimen without even using confetti
lmao get on my level confettiplebs
jisho.org
Of course they are squished, they have to fit in the same space as all other kanji
You will miss out on like 3 Attack Power from the Boss Memories you don't get from Shura.
The invasion was already mobilized before then. Ashina was doomed from the get go
*dabs on your ambitions*
Snap seeds?
you can do that with literally any written form of a language too, retard.
i can read russian but i sure as fuck can't pronounce it or speak the written down sentence correctly, but i still understand its meaning.
This, Japanese people love removing syllables when it comes to nicknames
>Ta-kun from FLCL
>Shigechi from JoJo
>Aisha calls Suzuka 'Suzu' in Outlaw Star
What puzzle? Just jump on the pillar with lightning.
Same applies to tree 木 and 森 forest
>14 emblems left
I wonder how many other players are like us, barely using the tools and cost skills. I have an absurd number of emblems in storage.
All he wanted was a good fight, and he got it in the end.
The only one that got dabbed on was genny.
Noted, I was aiming for a good ending so I'll save One Mind for next run
Ro is only used in combination with other words, like Jin-Ro, Man-Wolf
I think okami is the kanji reading while rou is for compound words. correct if im wrong
I meant unknown words obviously. No likes for your post
i dont give a fuck, the like system is a gay april fools joke
it better fucking be an april fools joke, or else ill have to rev up my ddos botnet. again.
dont push me gook-moot you know ill do it
>he's barely the warmup dish for the true final boss
HE GOT DABBED ON SO HARD
Also, you need to fight every boss on the same save file for Man Without Equal. Learned it the hard way. Not that I mind it too much though. I'll just speedrun Shura on NG+++.
I used them for other bosses but isshin is too keen to punish on slow arts. I only used shuriken twice just to interrupt couple of attacks.
no
i just fought her like every other boss in the game, parry, punish the moves that can be punished, and get her posture up
not nearly as good a fight as ape, though. ape had VERY consistent and easy to understand deflect patterns - if you deflect THIS attack pattern THIS way, you get the big slam. monk's stupid because if you perfectly deflect an attack pattern start to finish there are still like 3 different ways it can go, so you have to be crazy on the ball to get those mikiris when they show up.
absurd would be 1000 minimum. Maxed tools can be 5 emblems a pop
*clears throat*
>games freezes for like 10 seconds at a time, unfreezes, then freezes again
fucking hell I need a new CPU.
Stop moving around if you're not closing a gap with him. Just focus on blocking, parrying, and handling the red kanji as they come. Parry before you think you need to. Positioning hardly matters in this game. Don't worry if he's blocking the hits you throw at him. They keep his posture bar from dropping, and he's got really low posture in the final stage. Keep pressure up and keep parrying/blocking. Play like a sword & board bitch in Dark Souls. Eventually you'll win.
>moot
Who?
Tell me more about the word okami
Why is the wolf called okami (greatest deity)? I don't remember the wolf having too much relevance in shintoism or being worshiped as a kami compared to other creatures
Kek
Honest question; how bad does it get after Genichiro? I beat Way of Tomoe first time I reached phase 3 for reference, mada mada fucked me up though until I got the posture+ skills
that's your hard drive not your CPU. its freezing because it sticks trying to pull the assets for whatever area you are approaching.
Nigga what gave you that much trouble that you had to level to 200+. Even on ng+6, I managed to get through at bl125 and I’m shit at these games
Top of the food chain, baby. Nothing hunts wolves. I have no idea.
I mean its on my SSD but okay sure.
okami means wolf.
The game runs even on poverty CPUs, it barely uses them. From my own experience and what I've read the game runs like shit on AMD GPUs.
Where do i find Black hat to complete his quest? I met him in Sunken valley already and can't find him again. Did i kill him? Is he this dude that has a voiceline for some reason?
If you didn't have a hard time with Genichiro that must mean you have a good understanding of Sekiro's combat system (sure you do by now). Which means it doesn't get too much harder. From there on it's just learning the boss patterns and good reaction, like in every other FromSoft game.
Ateji.
Also Ainu people treats wolf as god.
isn't that the midget near the grave in ashina
mine's an i5 4690K, and i'm playing at 1440p. I figured that's the reason why.
In a bizarre way, I respect your tenacity. You must really fucking love these games if you're willing to grind that hard just to see the ending.
Did you puppeteer the rat to release the kite and meet him at the grave? After that you have to wait till the war breaks out and you'll find him near the house he was hiding in dying
If you've talked to him in the snek cave, then in the end of the game (during the ministry invasion) he moves back roughly to the same spot where you met him first time. But now he's not in the building, but on the cliff below it.
Stage 2 of Monkey Trouble is kind of a shitty fight though. The best strategy is running away and taking pot shots. Kinda kills the momentum.
>bait his jump slash into thrust
How can I bait them consistently?
>Owl can mikiri counter your thrusts
Fuck
Your fortune: Good news will come to you by mail
You can literally just deflect him twice to bait him into using overhead smash and deflect that shit for super long opening.
Corrupted Monk doesn't even count as an apparition, she takes the same damage as a regular boss. And before anyone says "but you do more damage if you use Confetti", you do more damage on every enemy with Confetti not just apparitions.
You're a big fucking dumdum, user.
You're supposed to deflect his sword attacks, not hit and run.
If you deflect, then it changes attack patterns and goes for a big swing. Deflect it as well and it gives you a huge opening.
pure kino
Emblems/Prosthetics are pretty useless in this fight
Thrusts are fucking useless. They might be unblockable, but every fucking enemy in the game, including the basic goons will just deflect it. And it doesn't work against shields. Why it's even in the game is a fucking mystery.
>super long
It's just five hits and always followed with a roar that resets the fight to you being far away.
How old is Tomoe supposed to be? Same as Lady Butterfly?
>Thrusts are fucking useless
The only worthwhile thrust is from the Spear because it does good Posture damage.
Bonfires had great justification as to their function and why enemies respawn along with you. How are sculptors idols explained in universe? How come everyone respawns when you rest at one?
the mist raven feather is pretty good for getting through some of his attacks, the fire trail after a dodge is nice too.
She's an Okami Warrior Woman so she's probably eternally youthful as far as Okami Women are concerned.
they reinforce the lost patrols.
they are good to mix up against goons as they wind up their own attack while you charge where they would just block your regular swing
Because Korbo the wise wolf said so
Or you can just spear him for like 30% posture damage.
I had over 999 in storage after finishing the game once.
After the end of the 4th one...I have no idea how many I have. Now I just use them to style and don't give a fuck about the cost.
I did talk to him there and exhausted his dialogue but i can't find him, unless he is the midget with the voice line in my pic related.
Yeah I'm , Gen was fun just because he felt like fighting a General without the area being full of mooks who have to be stealthkilled, I really enjoyed learning his strings and how he switches Perilous in phase 2
Stay close and keep hitting him, like Butterfly he has a programmed retort to basic slashes but this move is leaves him open, I call it the Punch Out method because it reminds me of how I used to punish Heiki Kagero in Super
Dark Souls 3 is better
Defend this, sekirobabs
how the FUCK do I fight the fire demon
just jump
git gud
When's the first merchant I can buy coin purses from? Got to Lady Butterfly (first one if there are multiple) and built up good amount of sen.
I only use it when I have a puppet so as not to be hit by their attacks.
You got hit by his left foot when he started sprinting.
Not him but thanks, I wouldn't have known this.
Genuinely made me kek. At least you beat it though
I think it's impossible to get hit by that move if you're jumping, even if you are directly in front of him
Is shadow rush any good?
I figured it out, You have to harvest the divine dragon tears to get him to spawn.
already beat him and sword saint only using two gourds each, game is not hard but some hitboxes are still absolutely fucked
So anyone else not a huge fan of Souls games but like Sekiro? I can't put my finger on it but I really love how it feels.
I didn't even get the first firecracker until after I was done with the game and picking up stuff I missed.
I also killed the first corrupted monk before I even went up ashina castle for the first time. I'm the retard people dumb down their games for.
Same
Damned good but damned expensive. 2 emblems a pop but it would be too OP for free.
probably because it's a completely different game
>love this game
>complete ng+++
>still think this game would be better with rpg stuff and online stuff
Feels bad. I think I'm done for now gotta wait 2 years for another From Software game.
Speculated timeline of Sekiro:
>Lord Takeru and Tomoe arrive to Ashina from the Fountainhead Palace
>Tomoe finds the black Mortal Blade helps Takeru to seppuku
>Isshin stages a coup and makes Ashina great again
>Isshin fights Tomoe, defeats her and makes her his vassal and Genichiro's swordfighting master
>the Sculptor turns on Isshin, but his arm is cut off before he becomes a Shura
>the Sculptor, a shinobi in Isshin's service, saves Emma, a war orphan, and Dogen adopts her
>the Owl saves the Wolf, a war orphan, and raises him himself
>the Owl cuts the everblossom sakura tree branch and flees the castle
>Hirata Estate is burned and pillaged by Juzou's bandit gang and the Owl's shinobi (possibly with the Internal Ministry's help, seeing the Lone Shadow shinobi are there too)
>the Wolf is backstabbed and almost dies but is accepted into Kuro's Immortal Oath
>Kuro however is taken captive, but not by Owl or the Ministry, but by Genichiro instead
>three year timeskip
>events of the game
Whats the good shitter strategy for Hirata Owl? He doest do that air slam move anymore which was only window for me to punish him at Ashina tower.
Samurai Souls when?
Sekiro is cool and all but I want to be samurai, not some filthy shinobi.
not really :)
>”If you must kill Genichiro then you will have to kill me too!”
I must admit I was touched.
>gotta wait 2 years for another From Software game
>perfect deflect interrupts the enemy's "combo", sends them reeling a bit and allows you time to attack
Took me way too long to understand, I've been an L1 spamming shitter this far
Dislike!
I know many did not like chalice dungeons, but I loved them in Bloodborne for the infinite replayability they brought. With Sekiro, all I can do is NG+, which sadly means I will know the layout of every area ahead of time. I enjoyed being able to explore a virtually infinite number of dungeons in bloodborne, because even though they aesthetically looked the same, the fact that their layout was semi-random meant that I couldn't just memorize routes. Every chamber I entered felt dangerous and exciting because I could not know what lay within.
While I highly doubt that chalice dungeons will ever return, it would be great if the DLC added something similar to them.
Japanese is redpilled.
Some people do Ichimonji Double on him and just infinitely bait the overhead. You can also use butterfly kunai and they usually hit.
You really pick up on this once you start fighting lone Shadows.
You mean chinese.
>tfw the only reason you have not killed yourself is because From makes video games
>beat the second Corrupted Monk fight on first try
I thought people said this game was hard
>Kuro however is taken captive, but not by Owl or the Ministry, but by Genichiro instead
>three year timeskip
I feel like Kuro and Wolf were in hiding before getting captured near Ashina. The guards in the beginning talk about Kuro as if he's been there only for a few days, maybe weeks.
Yeah, I was practicing in Ashina Castle and it just dawned on me
Hit him with R1, but watch out for the double slash counter, since it has superarmor
Perilous sweep? R1, because no superarmor
Firecrackers? Dodge forward and R1
Long vertical slam? R1 and dodge, but not too soon
Flame Owl? Jump and mikiri the upcoming stab.
either unlock and abuse his AI or just corner him and attack 2 times parry repeat free dmg on his jump
honestly I don't understand why From does not care about ng+ like they did for DaS2.
Most people actually do unusually well on their first try. Probably because you aren’t really thinking and just reacting.
""Lone"" shadow
Absolutely, I only beat the Gargoyles in DaS and Phalanx from DeS but the coat of weeb paint and the engaging swordplay is so much more fun than >rolls, strafes, slashes your ass x1000, gg Taurus
I get that trudging through a Souls game can be fun, I tried it myself, but Sekiro actually has fun combat that doesn't feel like wailing on a truck with a rolled up newspaper. Going from Souls to Ninja Gaiden was the best decision Miyazaki ever made
yes really, that's why you like it but you don;t like souls
>I got lost in the Depths and I think I fucked up the natural progression, I got through Mibu and defeated the Ghost monk, got a Stone I never heard about, then Bumbled into the temple and asked the Priest about a divine child I never even heard of
Haven't beaten Genichiro yet
This. What were they thinking?
My problem is that he breaks my posture too quickly and when I try to stay close he keeps doing his back jump arrow shoot, it's too frustrating.
Probably numbers. The vast majority of end users likely never bother with NG+'s and either stop playing or do a new character after they beat the game. We're Yea Forumsirgins so we love that + shit but johnny normalfag wouldn't.
nah could be like patterns like you can get so lucky with rng in this game for example you get sword saint phase 3 and only get his lightning attack if he does it 4 times you won.
just like me!
The basic flow of combat in Sekiro:
>hit R1 to attack the enemy
>they can block it, but that's okay, since you're still "hitting" them, just the posture bar instead of vitality bar
>but don't hit R1 too much, or you'll get deflected yourself, which inflicts more posture damage on you than it does on the enemy
>if the enemy deflects you or straight up attacks you before you attack them - deflect
>deflection interrupts the enemy combo (with the exception of certain multi-hit combo) and leaves them open for just enough for you to get a counter R1 hit on them
So basically you go like R1-R1-L1-R1-R1-L1... etc.
they were respecting your intelligence enough so you could figure out that you could come in from the inside and backstab the other enemy first
I used on of his wolves to kill him. Fucking hilarious if you think about it.
I use thrust all the time on basic enemies and generals. It always staggers and does good vit damage
johnny normalfag does not finish this game dude. Dunno adding some different enemies in ng+ would be enough for me.
All Asians are the same.
Oh I did that. Purple cloak almost took out the first bar. It was hilarious to watch. I just think it’s funny we see two “lone” shadows who use adds.
You were supposed to use confetti on the monk?
That is a possibility too. Or maybe Hirata Estate samurai came back just in time to save Kuro from getting captured, and the Wolf and him lived relatively peaceful until shortly before the start of the game. When the Ministry started making their moves against Ashina, Genichiro decided that desperate times call for desperate measures and arrested Kuro.
johnny normalfag is not playing a niche game by fromsoft
Why won't the divine child open her door? I gave her the two persimmons. Rested, traveled to a different location, rested, killed my dad but she won't open the fucking DOOR.
I was really hoping for a robust NG+ for DS3 but got nothing. Hard to justify putting resources and time into a feature most players will never use. DS2's red phantoms is still the best + change in the series.
What do you guys want out of a possible DLC? I think they could easily fit one in by just adding another bell to offer the buddha for another memory. Bosses could be shit like even younger Owl, Tomoe, Sculptor shinobi and we could meet npcs like the past heir, child Emma and shit.
>got a Stone I never heard about
Shouldn't have taken it.
After you find the flower, don't PICK IT UP just yet and exhaust the NPC dialogue at the base.
Why didn't Emma get 2 bars.
This 1 bar shit was a joke and an insult.
racist! :O
DS2 is the best for ng+ some boss fight complete change in ng+
I honestly just want a DLC that leads you into the japanese Underworld now that the second Mortal Blöade was introduced.
A multiplayer arena in the horse general area.
New shit. Sekiro recycles too much as it is.
>"perfect" deflect
What? There are less perfect deflects?
Anyway, I think it's just a scripted thing in the combo of some enemies, similar to how the Headless Ape does the vertical overhead every time if you deflect his last hit or how some combos go on on and on even if you deflect them.
Nothing to do with the timing of the input (like a PERFECT / GOOD / BAD in a rhythm game).
max stats still can't beat final boss
Gracious gift of tears.
Advance the plot further. You've already fulfilled all the requirements.
>”Naruhodo, so you are Sekiro the twice dying shadow!”
Brilliant writing Miyazaki
This gets asked all the time. You need to light the incense burner in Kuro's room to get the Fountainhead aroma, or maybe you just need to actually go to Fountainhead.
>perfect deflect sword saint
>attack him
>hyper armor through your attack
Not the guy who replied to you, but I still feel the similarity sometime like when the camera breaks or the hitboxes fuck you if you dodge instead of jump in certain moments.
I definitely would like to see more of this though than the default Souls setup in the future.
>There are less perfect deflects?
Yes, some deflects eat away at your posture if they aren't perfect (but just a small bit unlike a full block). I noticed it on Isshin when I perfectly deflected two times in a row and he got pushed back.
You can safely get 2 hits from him.
Anything further is just being greedy.
I'm talking about his spear phase he just hyper armor randomly and if you play with bell buff and no charm thats pretty much your end.
>Do it, Sekiro: I am the Shadow you have to kill the second time.
Really, Isshin?
>Horseguy intro in english
Damn, he fucking gave it his all and I respect that
No, there's only "deflect" and "guard/block/whatever".
Ape is its own thing, but generally deflecting an attack from a human sized enemy will stop their combo and let you R1 them once before they do anything else...
...unless it was an uninterruptible combo, in which case you have to deflect all the hits. You just have to learn the enemy movesets and when it's safe to attack before a deflect and when it isn't.
Also, it seems that deflecting the final hit of a combo has more significance than any other. Like the Ape's final vertical slam stuns it. And Centipede Giraffe (and the other Centipede dude) won't do the perilous sweep follow-up unless you've deflected the final hit, and will just start another combo instead.
>Genichiro's mortal blade doesn't completely end you
I guess his was just a bootleg then.
How the fuck Kuro gave his blood to Sekiro in Hirata if the mortal blade is the only thing capable of making him bleed
So the best area to farm EXP is the samurai dojo post invasion yeah? Just run around the whole room and let everyone slaughter one another. Then hop down and backstab all three shinobi redhats.
No there isn't a "non-perfect" deflect. You still take posture damage from deflects, just not as much as from blocks and it can't put you over 99% posture bar.
He kicked his feet up to run, git gud
Anyone else get past the snake cave without using the monkey?
Yes, used Mist Raven when the SNake attacks you. It moves you behind it.
I think Ashina Outskirts is the best if the red guys are around you I get like 14k per run on ng4
This is a question that actually needs answering. On top of that, wouldn't the divine heir himself be fucking unstoppable if he got training from Sekiro? He seems like he is as OP as fucking wolverine. Something does not add up. Is anything in this game about Sekiro's past real? We know he isn't a reliable narrator.
How is he so fast?
The man that singlehandedly put subfags on suicide watch
Crafty Old Man Isshin is even worse than that. Sometimes he will just "dodge" your attack by slightly moving out of the way, so it doesn't have the same spark effect warning you get from being deflected normally. And if you don't notice and continue attacking he will get a guaranteed hit on you.
He fucking 1 shots me because i only have 7 prayer necklaces.
Yes, I did on my first playthrough. I didn't even you there was a platform that you can use to get to the monkey because it's so dark there that I didn't notice it. I just baited the snake to attack and when he was retreating I jumped off the bridge and used the hook point to get behind him.
It’s just a spoken oath. He doesn’t need to physically bleed.
cardio mixed with squats?
The Divine Heir actually accepts people into the Immortal Oath not by making them drink their blood but semen.
Eh, Sekiro is immortal because he gave his oath and Kuro accepted it. As the Divine Heir people bound to him have that skill apparently.
You can do it user, just breathe, focus, and don't mash LB/L1 like a fool, also don't be afraid of his bow as you can block/deflect it easily
Go do Training (Applied) with Hanbei until you can win without taking a hit, in particular if you can parry his 5 string for the deathblow consistently you can beat Gen, he's actually pretty basic
Except now you are deaf and need subs anyway.
honestly thinking about a no prayer beads run do you guys think this would be possible?
>autistically zig zags at Mach 1 when his enemy is 40 yards away
anything is possible if you are good
A Jap speedrunner beat the game in under 40 minutes yesterday so anything is possible.
Technically, yes. You don't get your posture broken as long as you get perfect deflections off.
Deflect and even block has 100% damage reduction in Sekiro (unless you stop playing on Easy mode), and deflected attacks can't break your posture leaving you on 99% instead, so yeah, it's very much possible.
I think some "content creators" are doing/have done it already.
The japs are shittalking Genichiro on how much of a failure he was
>the internal ministry paid more attention to dying Isshin than him
>need hax power, still failed to beat you
>need even more hax power from mortal blade, still lost
>on his dying breath, call prime version of his grandad to help beat you
>still failed in the end
Who side is Isshin on anyway?
WTF dude Yea Forums is legitimately a fucking hivemind
Shit meant to quote
Post yfw Ronaldo
If you mean not getting any prayer bead, it's impossible because there are bosses that you must kill that give you some
There's a bit of Genichiro in all of us.
You don't have to use them retard
Ashina's
That's not what he meant come on man. Prayer beads are activated manually.
Ashina's.
There are some fags that damage you even blocking
The samurai are the most notorious
howmany phases does Genchiro have? I am currently failingnto get through his second healthbar and I know he has a lightning phase afterwards
Fund it
Block doesn't get 100% damage reduction on elemental attacks (even deflect doesn't) and plenty of later enemies do chip damage through your block (particularly the *unsheathes katana* guy and Isshin.
Did someone hurt you?
He tried to save Ashina with all he had, that is already admirable considering his grandad didn't give much of a shit. He could have supported Genichiro as an advisor but all he had was contempt for him and Genichiro being young found no other way to save the country except by using the Dragon Heir blood.
>tfw gave all the Sake to Isshin
He seems like a cool grandpa to drink with and hear his stories.
Only some really strong weapon arts, like Ashina Cross do damage through block, but not deflect.
Get used to it, because that's how it is for EVERY attack on Normal difficulty. You only get 100% damage reduction from blocking on the Easy mode.
3, then single bar as warm up for final boss.
there's block and deflect. the only time defect doesn't affect your posture is when it's already full (you can't get guard broken when you deflect)
Three health bars, the lightning part is just one and he barely blocks
Guardian Ape is the best fight I've beaten but I haven't beaten the game yet
The most kino fight is Lady Butterfly... great cutscene, best music of the game, great arena
>elemental attacks
You have the umbrella shield for those, or you can just dodge them.
TIPS FOR OWL 1 PLEASE REEEEEEEEEE
it's the bad ending but still impressive
>considering his grandad didn't give much of a shit
m8 his grandad went out to hunt the 'rats' alone with his half-dead body.
lobos was stuck on final boss for 12 hours on no upgrades run
Punish him after he does the broad sweep and broad air dive. They leave him open. Otherwise there's not much to it but parrying and shit. Just repeat the fight enough times and you'll get the hang of it.
3
>phase 1 he thrusts after the jump slash
>phase 2 he switches to a sweep after jumping
>phase 3 is lightning, a retard like me beat him in one try, just remember Lightning Reversal is basically the same thing as a sweep counter, just press R instead of A again
Don’t worry about your own posture. It’s better you get knocked down and roll away.
Depending on DLC, this game might be better than Bloodborne.
it's possible, but be ready to spend all day getting one shot by isshin
Parry Parry R1. Run from smoke bomb. Repeat until you win. Same goes for almost every boss.
yea I can imagine that he probably one shots you on every move and thats pretty hard because he has random hyper armor.
unlock and sprint behind his back
The game hardly ever punishes you for losing posture. I realized this way too late.
Dude wanted to fight and die fighting instead of being stuck dying in a tower on a futon. If he gave a shit about Ashina he would have fucked off when he lost to Sekiro or wouldn't have even fought him in the first place.
>>phase 2 he switches to a sweep after jumping
Can people stop saying this, he can do both in phase 2 he just does the sweep more often.
>tfw friend of mine made the playable bosses mod for DS1 and 3 but he hates Sekiro and I can't get him to try it
I will play Gyoubu, eventually.
Try to bait the dual shuriken and jump attack and the shuriken/dash attack
Those two usually give you time to hit him
And do not be afraid when he throws absolutely-not-lloyd-talisman, you have time to hit him and dodge the smoke
3. iirc, his perilous attack in 2nd phase is always a sweep, or so people say, but I remember him fucking me up with some random thrusts in the 5/spoiler] hours it took me to beat him.
The third phase is actually the easiest if you don't get fucked by his lightning jump attack.
Sorry I only noticed the sweep, he only thrusted me in phase 2 as a single attack, he ALWAYS swept after jumping in phase 2.
Would’ve made more sense if Sekiroman staggered more during low posture. As it is he staggers at the slightest breeze, it’s ridiculous.
Prioritize NOT getting hit by his debuff bomb. He'll keep attempting it and giving you free shots.
I want a backstory dlc that lets us play as Tomoe in her quest for the divine realm with Takeru. Tomoe was in a covenant with a divine heir, same as the Wolf with Kuro, so it even works gameplay-wise.
Sometimes it's a relief getting that debuff bomb on you because you suddenly stop give a shit about healing and just go on a relentless assault.
I did the boss fight for two hours he can do both the amount of times I died cause I was like here comes the sweep just to get stabbed in mid air. Fucking feelsbadman
unlock get free hits
is it even possible to tell if corrupted monk is doing a slam or sweep from mid-air? I swear all this fuckers attacks other than the shovel look the same
you want him to keep doing it because it's an easy punish. if he hits you with it he stops
In one conversation Sekiro thanks the sculptor for saving the divine heir. What's the context? I don't get it.
This.
Also it's a good form to practice looking at enemy animation anyway because final Genichiro add another branch to the jumping attack (the long as combo into thrust attack) on top of sweep and thrust.
>youtube.com
>post yfw 1:56
When he performs that attack his hole body becomes a giant hitbox. I'm not defending this, I think demon of hatred is one of the worst bosses in the game, but still.
Sekiro OST is an absolute mess.🍠
Why do people recommend doing this? You will literally have to remove your hand from the controls to rotate the camera and R3.
You could just dodge diagonally and attack mid dodge the same way people fuck Lady Butterfly.
True as well. If he hits you with it he seems to get more aggressive so it's a parry buffet for Sekiro. Intentionally eating one might be a viable strat but I doubt it.
>give sake to Emma
>awkward silence
>"Please say something"
Best girl.
Fountainhead has the best music in the game. Shame it is the only really good OST in the game.
because his AI bugs out if you unlock.
Does Emma have a past with Wolf? She mentions an incident that Sekiro forgot.
use the mouse console pleb
>You will literally have to remove your hand from the controls to rotate the camera and R3.
>he doesn't know
put your left thumb on the left analog stick and left index finger on the right stick.
you seriously never ran in souls games while rotating the camera?
Wait what?
if you lock bosses can track you better if you unlock they don't
Sekiro and DQ11 are the only two games in recent memory with soundtracks so bad that I went in and turned off the music.
Actually made Sekiro easier since you can clearly hear enemy grunts and tells.
Genichiro try that after second fight, Wolf go then full autist and say that he blasphemes.
Just got the frozen tears ending. I beat the Demon of Hatred beforehand. Is there anything else worth doing?
Kind of disappointed by the final boss, seeing as the pre-fight battle is a joke, phase 1 is a joke considering how fast his posture goes down and you can just sprint away from his dangerous attacks with no downside, phase 2 is the hardest because of the fuckhuge range and delayed attacks, and phase 3 is just the same except you have lighting reflect to take off a third of his health every time he uses it. I still say the hardest fight for me was the Blazing Bull since I did it before buying firecrackers.
>he's still clawing
test
Does this work on Owl 2.0 as well? Because fuck him.
What's the deal with his ground stab? I have no idea what that is
I will admit I typically fight and lose to these bosses a hundred times while drunk late at night, then I wake up the next day and basically punch them in the face through sheer muscle memory
If True Monk is a carp woman based off her anatomy, why does she also have a centipede in her body? I thought the carp longevity and the centipede immortality are two different things?
I'm on PC. I guarantee you the devs allotted 0.05% of their development time to KBM.
You'd have to L1 with your middle finger? Sounds less than ideal.
She's on like 6 levels of immortality my dude
dunno probably not he backs off too much and you can't AI loop Owl 2.0.
Bit lost after entering the gun fortress. I ran past snake eyes for now cause that's an obnoxious fight. I killed giraffe easy and crawled around in the caves but only found dead ends. Where is the path forwards?
Is Divine Dragon From’s best setpiece yet?
Probably you since she didn't want Genichiro to become a bad guy either.
The Water that flows from the Tree gives immortality, centipede larvae either life in the dragon or around him
people get infested by centipedes from drinking the water
carps get longevity from eating the centipede larvae in the water
>You'd have to L1 with your middle finger?
no, I just switch to that when I need to. It's really easy since I don't even need to move my thumb.
T-that stance!
Did you kill the ape or the monkeys already? Check where kuro is there should be a key laying around.
>Where is the path forwards?
where giraffe was
Have you opened the door behind the statue where you fight Giraffe? If you don't have the key for it, go back to the Ashina castle and try to reach its very top.
The rot dragons look laughable and they should've made the dragon 20% larger desu. The huge empty skybox makes him look pretty small sadly.
3 hours on guardian ape
beat guardian ape 2nd encounter on 1 try
have i...gotten gud?
So what is the hardest boss in the game? I feel like Owl 1 and 2 both have super obvious and frequent long cooldown attacks that make both fights easy, Genichiro is only hard if you don't understand consecutive parrying by that point, Isshin's only really hard part is phase 2 which you can just tank through by chugging behind a rock, and Demon of Hatred's only fuckyou move is the charge and otherwise you can just hug its ass like any Souls boss and once you find out unintuitively that you can just jump immediately to dodge it despite its model clearly hitting you, it's manageable. I somehow got my ass handed to me by Corrupted Monk's ghost though.
Overall I really like the difficulty in this game. Nothing that's really bullshit but the high damage keeps you on your toes and forces you to learn the fight, and once it clicks, you can mow right through them and it's super satisfying.
Eh second encounter is way easier.
I guess if it was a lot bigger it’d have felt weird seeing a flea managing to hurt it.
Yes, you had to learn the ape's 'language' but now you can read him like a book
>devs allotted 0.05% of their development time to KBM.
right, that's why it's so easy to cheese with
Probably not. I spent as much with Guardian Ape and killed the other one in 2 tries.
Every other boss has kicked my ass since.
Isshin no contest here.
>NG+3
>Going for Purification
>Sword Saint time
>Get him on my 3rd try
Feels gud to get gud
You mean by seven spear guy?
Is that the place where the kitebois are guarding? I've been up there but theres only a wrong side door.
Post times the game design actually impressed you
>game starts talking about lightning in items and loading screens
>"uh okay, never seen lightning though so I don't really care"
>game gives you some eel liver for fighting lightning enemies
>"yeah okay still don't care"
>game has a mural that you can read to tell you how to counter lightning perfectly
>"who gives a shit there are no lightning enemies"
>game puts you up against a surprise third phase of the hardest boss yet with bonus lightning attacks
>you kick the shit out of the sorry cunt cause you know how to deal with lightning
This was the best part of the game for me. Being able to beat Genichiro's final phase taking almost zero damage because the game told you how to deal with it and you fucking nail it despite having no healing or resurrections left
Is there a way to cheese the guardian monkey?
Wait can you kick back Ronaldo’s lightning ball?
Kitebois?
Have you already killed this mini-boss?
Is the RMB cheese true? It has literal 0 cooldown? When I first read it it just sounded like keyboardfags being mislead from not playing with controller (as you can spam L1 as well).
If it was true, one could perhaps use Steam's Controller driver to add a layer mask to the controller and bind RMB to L1.
First phase can be cheesed with firecrackers, second phase he gains a vulnerability against the spear prosthetic. You can pull out the centpide out of it's body for some extra damage with the Armor Ripping attack of the spear.
I feel like the lightning reflect is really overpowered and makes every boss that uses it a joke, but it feels so damn cool every time you do it.
The nightjar shinobi that are on kites on the castle roofs. I dont think I've gotten to him. I've gotten to blue samurai guys that looks pretty similar to him but there's a "does not open from this side" door that I can't find a way around.
lol I didn't do any lightning crap, I just dodged the shocks and fought him like the other phases and it was still easier than the first 2 phases
wait how do you do the armor ripping attack?
I found that running makes it pretty easy to dodge most of his moves.
>DLC
>unlock Tomoes lightning after defeating her
>Ashina Elite and Isshin/Genichiro can counter it
Would be nice to see if they did that.
1st phase, firecrackers.
2nd phase, spear prosthetic. Deflect the last hit in his combos and he'll flop to the ground doing an overhead which lets you land 3-4 hits easily.
Yeah, he's close to the blue samurai guys. Try to find some stairs close to them and go up the stairs to find an idol and the mini-boss next to it.
You need to upgrade the spear. Prosthetics gain additional moves if upgraded.
Best place to farm sen?
From the Antechamber idol, go to the room with 2 samurais. 1) Look up and grapple. 2) There's a secret trap door in the mural (with a gourd or a bead, can-t remember which).
mibu village and estate
ignore that guy, you don't need to upgrade it just press the right trigger twice, after the first jab you'll pull back and rip shit off
honestly second phase doesn't need to be cheesed, just bait out his forward dive thing and run to the right or jump over his sword and slash into him for a bit
best cheese is purple umbrella vs his terror scream, you can just stand there hitting him afterwards
Got it, thanks anons. I had found the secret room and missed that grappled into the ceiling completely.
Early game, Hirata State with yellow balloons.
Mid game, idk. Maybe Senpou or Gun fort.
Late game, Fountainhead or Ashina invaded.
I cheated in infinite money.
I just killed the big guy at the bridge. Felt sorry for him.
Do I keep going here or should I head down to the snake shrine or to the headless cave or to that path with a few apes in it. Last boss I killed was Genichiro. Also how do I get to the other side on top of that huge tree? I have a feeling I've to use the kite but I don't know how.
Genichiro was pure, unfiltered kino and Sekiro is already my GOTY btw.
Fountainhead is to whack with the Okami Warrior women pulling a Tomoe on your ass. Ashina Invasion is probably the best spot especially at the spot where the Merchant is in Ashina Outskirts. Kill your way to the bridge and you should get good Sen/Exp.
I'm thinking of getting myself infinite Emblems in NG+ so I can do some crazy comboing with Prosthetics.
I don't really blame you.
You get so much money later that you have nothing to spend it on so you just buy thousands of emblems, why even bother with cheats
IIRC the path with apes is a dead end, so go there if you want. Take your time exploring Senpou, since the area is a blast and quite complex.
>I have a feeling I've to use the kite but I don't know how
Your feeling is correct, just keep playing.
Sorry if I spoiled anything btw.
There's a semi safe run you can do from the Feeding grounds idol. Getting rid of the flutebois first (shurikens should work) would be a priority, but yeah, I cursed a lot every time I got enfeebled and died.
On the other hand, managing to stay alive while enfeebled when my purse was bursting with 13k sen was pure ecstasy.
I’m playing at 20fps
Why do they play flutes 24/7 anyway? It's like it's their sole reason of existence.
Thanks user, Senpou it is then, I'll go back to the cliffs to check if I've missed anything in that area as well.

I beat ape on my first try but by the time i got to him i had 7 heals and 6 attack power and 14 vitality.
A lot of these bosses are only hard if you are underlevled and don't have the posture and damage upgrade
speculation
Who is this and why are her feet so cute
Just reinforcement when You rest, no magical shit.
Uh, so is Kuro inside the cute girl's body now?
That's this game's entire problem. Bosses have fuckhuge hp and posture but you yourself can hardly take two hits to your vitality.
It feels like a grind wearing them down.
Not really. The cave is even called Bridal Cave and the girls wearing white robes.
Yes. Shota inside loli.
when and where do you fimd her?
also, is all oj Japan similarily fucked up, or only the Ashina lands in particular?
white is the colour of mourning in East Asia.
>The cave is even called Bridal Cave
What? Where did you get that? The idol location is named sanctuary.
Its also of marriage in Japan.
Why does the rope puppet have a wooden dick?
Read the description of the kidney stone.
It says Wedding Cave when you enter it
Huh I think this may also be a hint?
I was also confused with all the bridal stuff
You’re meant to jump
This is something completely different. They're basically saying the bride gets eaten by a snek
Full Sekiro art book when? The digital artworks one just doesn't cut it with the limited selection of pieces. Also, it seems like the lead character designer/concept artist isn't the same as with Bloodborne or DaS3. It's all good though, Fromsoftware as a whole has some of the best concept artist in the contemporary vidya industry.
You're literally talking about two different things.
Dick ass snakes.
I know but what I mean is that the "wedding" is just an euphemism for the sacrifice ritual, no one is really getting married there.
Because she only a doctor.
Link for the digital album?
Well thats obvious. Its still a bridal offering even if they masquerade its true nature.
